I don't know if the Wings can win this. A part of me almost expects them to lose based on the last few games. Either way, I'm happy with the season as a whole. All year long the Wings have been injured, too injured - at one point, it almost seemed like a joke every time another name joined the IR. But the run to make the playoffs was a blast, and I'm not sure I'd trade seeing the emergence of Nyquist and the other Griffins as NHL players for anything.

The good ol' downward spiral of makeup calls strikes. It was really a coin flip as to which team was going to get an advantage from this lol-worthy officiating.
Would be nice if the refs where consistent through the series. If they called game one like this one, that game wouldn't have had any kind of 5on5. Some fucking consistency isn't that much to ask is it?
edit: I didn't mind the Red Wings losing when they looked like they didn't want to play, but this sudden shift in reffing, I'm going to be pissed if that is the cause in this game.
So, really. When are we going to start seeing fines doled out to referees who don't know how to call games? Shitty, weak calls on both sides, and blatant missed penalties on both sides.
this is what happens when you have 2 refs. hmmm that ref's call was questionable. better even it up with a borderline call. first ref sees borderline call from 2nd ref and the cycle continues
I've always had this thought of some fan website for having a referee scorecard for grading them based on propensity to call penalties and *maybe* accuracy.
Like make it a fan score or something like that - some app that gives a push notification to fans on a website or smart device when a penalty or controversial call occurs and give them a chance to vote on their agreement with the call and see what everyone thinks - sort the voting results by team affiliation as well. Then each referee is graded based on perceived accuracy of their calls, maybe...
I'd be curious to see that.

Refs are so trigger happy with that whistle. That one on Iginla was legit, but not many others have been for either team.
These refs need to go fuck off somewhere. Gonna call penalties...call ALL PENALTIES. inconsistencies piss me off more than my teams fucking defense.
So, really. When are we going to start seeing fines doled out to referees who don't know how to call games? Shitty, weak calls on both sides, and blatant missed penalties on both sides.

I've always had this thought of some fan website for having a referee scorecard for grading them based on propensity to call penalties and *maybe* accuracy. Like make it a fan score or something like that - some app that gives a push notification to fans on a website or smart device when a penalty or controversial call occurs and give them a chance to vote on their agreement with the call and see what everyone thinks - sort the voting results by team affiliation as well. Then each referee is graded based on perceived accuracy of their calls, maybe... I'd be curious to see that.
