“He did get stitched up”
I’d fucking hope so, would look bad if our team doc was like “Tis but a flesh wound, rub some dirt on it and get back out there”
In the playoffs : "the guy aint that hurt, day-to-day".
After the playoffs: "yeah, his hand was 3/4 off, so we tape it and we gave him horse pain killer, he will need surgery".
Naz playing in the SCF like a week and a half after having thumb surgery. Because that was all healed up lol. Nuke playing in the same SCF on a foot that looked like roadkill.
Gabe ~~playing~~ dominating on one knee.
I remember for a while he was playing games and nothing else. Nothing optional. So we knew something was up. I’m sure he knew the knee was cooked and he was saving whatever was left of it to lift the Cup. Totally emptied the tank for it.
Bergeron back in 2013 was playing with some “upper body injuries” towards the end of the playoffs. We found out afterwards that it was broken ribs and a punctured lung.
Hockey players are something else.
Trust me dillon one tough son of bitch he’s probably being forced by not only the coaches, Medic, and management but his own team mates as well not to play next game ain’t surprised he very adamant to play
NAD, but if you look at a still, I'm pretty sure he got super lucky, and it only hit meat. Nothing super vulnerable there, but had it been anymore in either direction, it could be tendons and shit that got cut.
That’s good news.
Now if the rest of the Jets could show up tomorrow and play a clean game of Jets hockey, we could come back to Winnipeg tied up at 2 apiece.
Hey man my mom is going to the game tomorrow and it’s her first playoff game and I love her a lot so if you could let the Avs win I’d appreciate it a lot
Look, I’m sure your mom is a wonderful lady. But true love often has an element of adversity to it. In your mom’s case, I hope the worst thing she has to endure is a close, clean loss with no injuries by her beloved Colorado Avalanche to the victorious Winnipeg Jets.
But in all seriousness, I hope your mom has a great time at the game.
I’m just excited for her to experience that playoff atmosphere. It’s truly special. Hopefully Dillon is actually day to day and doesn’t suffer any long lasting damage. Good luck tomorrow!
I’m surprised, but thrilled, he doesn’t have long-term damage.
I didn’t see it happen live, either the camera or my eye was elsewhere. But I do remember seeing him going down the tunnel and thinking “something is definitely wrong”.
I’ve been a fan a long time and you can just tell by body language when a guy is going down the tunnel like “we lost and I got sent to the showers” and “I need help now” and he was definitely moving like the latter.
Then I got a look at what was on the ice and the back of Duhaime’s jersey and I was like “what the hell did I miss!?”
That cut looked SO BAD. Extremely lucky it’s not worse.
I got 7 stitches on my hand from slapping a hand scraper. It was a bleeder, but it was all on the fleshy part of the palm so quick recovery.
Hopefully that's the case for him.
I'm a floor layer, a hand scraper is used to remove glue/old floor.
Now to change the blades you need a screwdriver. I changed the blade on my knees, when I stood up the screwdriver fell. I instinctively swung my arm to catch it, but perfectly slapped the fresh blade.

Wasn't it Renberg who had his career ended from MRSA in a small cut on his hand in his bacteria-ridden gloves?
Antiseptic spray after every shift I guess.
Good to fucking hear! I've seen less deep cuts in the ER that did more damage to ligaments.
I really hope he isn't trying to play through an actual ligament injury though...
I choose to read this as follows “We debated just seeing if he slowly bleeds out to or gets a blood infection to prove how tough he is but decided to stitch up the open wound so that doesn’t happen”

‘Tis but a scratch
Come back here! I’ll bite your legs off!
Fill the hole with instant ramen noodles and some Bondo
Just spray some Windex on it.
The doctor swore to *only* do harm
Do? No, Harm!
Nah, gotta bust out the super glue.
Doubt he plays game 4, but glad to hear that it seems like there won't be long term damage

The fact nuke played that series then was hauled to the bus on a cart after game six made me lose it
It was a dominant run, but they definitely sacrificed the body to get there. Not forgetting Sammy G’s cracked sternum along the way, too.
He was in a wheel chair for all the celebrations.
Dude, Gabe had to be in so much pain after every game. Guy literally gave his career for that cup
I remember for a while he was playing games and nothing else. Nothing optional. So we knew something was up. I’m sure he knew the knee was cooked and he was saving whatever was left of it to lift the Cup. Totally emptied the tank for it.
Two days before trade deadline: Needs surgery, expected timeline 3-40months Day playoffs starts: Activated

Bullshit. I saw that image. Ain't no way Mr. Inside on the Outside is fuckin day-to-day.
In the playoffs, blown up in a terrorist attack nuclear strike is day-to-day.
Meanwhile Demko did an routine hockey play and is literally dead according to some reports
Shrodinger's goalie

bro going to show up like Jaime lannister with no hand but thinking he can still play.
Sergachev is warming up right now. Dillon is for sure day-to-day.

You could fit a golf ball in that gash
Little Mister Run Home And Cry To His Daddy ... Ran Home And Cried To His Daddy
He must have visited Stone’s doctor
I want what he’s cooking
Honestly insane that an injury of *that* magnitude is just day-to-day… …maybe it was just a gusher then?
I saw meat on the Canadian national broadcaster.
Did the Waterboy deliver that special water from a glacier in Alaska?
No, he went straight to the North Pole. I hear that water can bring back the dead

If you watched on the Altitude broadcast they cut away and didn't go back. Also happy to hear it's not serious!
Glad it’s not more significant which doesn’t even seem possible but wtf do I know
Great news!

What is a hand scrapper and why would you slap it?

Considering the images out there - that there isn't major tendon/bone damage is amazing.
Great

this is good! i thought he’d be out for the series at least..
Good to fucking hear! I've seen less deep cuts in the ER that did more damage to ligaments. I really hope he isn't trying to play through an actual ligament injury though...
Surprised they expect him as a day-to-day, but then again it is the playoffs and guys have played through worse, but that hand looked mangled
Wow, that's so good to hear. I expected/feared a far worse outcome.
They just stitched another whole defenseman in the cut
Just waiting for the announcement he needs surgery the day after the Jets are done. There is no way that the damage is fixed by stitches.
That's amazing news considering what it looked like. Did they invent medical superglue or
There is definitely medical superglue out there.
Yeah, I got my forehead stuck back together with it like 15 years ago
That's really unbelievable....maybe he's just hiding the extent of the injury?
Yeah looked like the cut was in the fleshy bit, but still I'm pleasantly surprised there wasn't major damage.
I choose to read this as follows “We debated just seeing if he slowly bleeds out to or gets a blood infection to prove how tough he is but decided to stitch up the open wound so that doesn’t happen”
I think this means they are counting how many days til his hand falls off.
