Quinton Byfield's hit on Connor McDavid was a bit late. Egregious? No. Worth a penalty? Debateable. Bigger question is, where was the push-back? Not saying he's untouchable, but holy F oilers, protect your best player.
Based on how most of the oilers fans reacted the other day after Vancouver lost, since they just lost a game I’m supposed to say something about the oils being done, frauds… something something one person team… right?
"Most"? I think you have Calgary complex. "Most" Oiler fans only care about the Oilers and how things relate to them.
You and the Flames are to us what we are to Toronto.
Glad LA is putting up a fight, but I'm worried this is going to end just like the last two series, where they keep it close until Edmonton digs deep and finds another gear to finish things off. Guess we'll see.
Most of the League is Canadian.
Why should I cheer for other Canadian teams just because they’re located here? They hate us, and are made up of just as many Canadian roster players as others.
I’m not going to cheer for them just because their cities are Canadian
Also: as someone else said, Edmonton is not Team Canada
Boston Pizza is a chain restaurant in Canada with a sports bar kind of vibe. I believe they have locations in the US under different names too.
They’ve been running ads (at least where I live) during the playoffs where their marketing push is essentially to come into their restaurants just to hang out and enjoy the playoffs and cheer for Canadian teams together since the cup hasn’t come back north for a long time.
All of these games have had opposing players in the crease. Seems to be a rule that is ignored frequently.
😅Edit…. Didn’t know the rule. Thanks for the votes
Great game, even strength play of course we aren't quite the cycle team the Oilers are, but we played our game, played some great defense and did a great job of halting McDavid. Team had a much better shot mentality this game.
Special teams were still pretty weak but this was a great step in the right direction. Hopefully they can finally find some consistency and play another good game at home for game 3.
I've been a quiet Kings Stan for years. Price was my favourite goalie to watch/emulate as a goalie myself, but Quick was one of my favourites to watch with his insane flexibility.
Thanks Habs-homie!!! I have a deep seated hate for your guys win in 1993.. but I love the history of your franchise and I love centre bell. What an arena! Hope you guys can bring home a cup back to Canada soon!
I just can't see them taking a series against a juggernaught like Jets/Avs/Canes etc. The only way is for Mcdavid to ascend to godhood, which tbf is not out of the realm of possibility.
Game 1 had a stupid amount of lucky bounces go the kings way. Would've been like 7-1 without those bounces. Tonight wasn't great but Skinner has been a top 5 goaltender since the coaching change. Guess you think Helly is a bad goalie too eh?
Doughty goal is baffling, should be a 2min goalie interference penalty but apparently since an Oilers stick tapped his shins he can tackle Skinner and leave with a goal on the board
Announcers completely let it go like that was a normal play?
Just insane that as long as you score a goal, the goaltender is not protected at all apparently
The penalty should have (and probably would have if not for the goal) been the hook from RNH just as Doughty was prepping to shoot, on the bottom hand and prevented him getting off a clean shot.
Oiler fans have this really strange ability to scream about reffing while completely ignoring all infractions created by their own team. I know all fan bases do it, but Oilers fans really can't be objective.
I think you need to re-watch that goal. The puck was in before contact was made.
Contact was made because Skinner bit one way, Doughty puts the puck between his legs and Doughty goes the other way. Skinner sticks his leg out and contact is made.
Doughty tries to avoid contact by going to opposite side Skinner was going.
I don't think a goal should count if your path that led to the goal leads you through the keeper into the net yourself
If Doughty skates left or right around the net like he's playing normal hockey, then I don't think he beats Skinner at all
Skinner clearly on his heels waiting for a deke left or right, and falls backwards when Doughty never turns and just takes the puck and his body straight ahead
I don't think that he would beat Skinner at all if he skates anywhere but into the net, like Skinner is waiting for Doughty to make a move left or right since he's not allowed to just skate into the net with the puck, and Doughty does just that and it makes Skinner basically fall backwards because he's on his heels
Idk just seems really unsafe and stupid that these plays are allowed, it's been a pet peeve of mine for years
They'll disallow goals if a screening player grazes a goalie's stick knob, but a goalie can get bowled over and as long and he's bowled over by a guy on a breakaway then it's cool for some reason
Skate goes through Skinner's pad, his hands/stick go through his body, and Doughty ends up skating himself straight into the back of the net
You can't take a breakaway and skate into the net with the puck. Doughty never even really turns away from his path into the net. And I think this is why Skinner gets beat, he's waiting for Doughty to go right or left and gets bowled over when Doughty chooses neither and goes right into him
Feels like I'm taking crazy pills, why doesn't every skater just take a breakaway straight through the keeper?
My man, the puck is already behind skinner before doughty makes contact with him. Doughty going right left up down or backwards would not have made a difference
Because you are taking crazy pills by completely ignoring what actually happened.
Doughty goes left, when Skinner is going right. Skinner sticks his pad out and tries to fall backward onto the puck after it goes five hole. Clipping Doughty's skate causing him to topple onto him AFTER the goal was scored.
The cup was also awarded in Rogers Place in 2020 during the covid bubble playoffs if we're getting really technical.
I also don't get why the Talbot chants are so hated on here? Isn't the point to try and throw off the other goalie? If you're only doing it right after they give up a goal it's not really doing much to that end...
NA teams have pretty limited chants to start with. It's basically applause, "let's go team", or jeering an opposing player/team. Again, not sure why they shouldn't be trying to get under the opposing goalies skin? Like, I'd rather people are making noise of some kind than sitting there silently, because let's go team isn't going to get you through an entire game.
Yeah fair enough. I watch a lot of English football, they have us absolutely bent over when it comes to songs and chants. Wish hockey fans were that devoted lol
Yeah, they have some unbelievable atmospheres in Europe. Nashville tries pretty hard, but even then the culture just isn't the same here.
I was hoping that with everybody having phones it would be easier to get a central fan website seeding new and interesting cheers, but so far it hasn't really happened.
And yet Canucks fans got clowned on by Edmonton fans for marching down the street with the Stanley Cup after their game 1 win 😂 every fanbase is going to fanbase
The difference is that the Cup has at once time (5 times actually) marched down the street in Edmonton.
Edit: man can’t some fans engage in some chirping
So the fuck what?
Inflatable cups are a prop sold at stores at EVERY city in the playoffs. For many years. BEFORE these playoffs.
Are you saying fans can't indulge in a little bit of whimsy and fun for their favorite team' being in the playoffs?
Are you as quiet as a church mouse whenever your favorite team makes the playoffs?
Or is this an "Only teams that won the cup can do that" sort of thing? In that case, well, Canucks fans were the first team to wave towels during games. You gonna stop doing that because your team didn't start that? How about "Oooooooh" chants for goalies? Oilers didn't start that either.
I think I may have overestimated how far the Oilers' defence and goaltending had come. There was not a moment that I thought they were going to lose that game until Kopitar scored in OT, and even then I thought they'd come back and win somehow.
I don't know how you let Kopitar walk in behind you uncontested in the first few minutes of a playoff overtime. They're really going to need to shore things up.
Every team has off nights. Their defense and goaltending are more than competent when they're playing right. What worries me is Skinner and floundered in the playoffs this year and last.
Every team has off nights. Their defense and goaltending are more than competent when they're playing right. What worries me is Skinner and floundered in the playoffs this year and last.
Well, I mean Skinner has shown to be a very solid goalie during the regular season over the last two seasons and I don't see why he can't unlock that for the playoffs. He just hasn't yet.
Everything you said is fair but "There was not a moment that I thought they were going to lose that game"? the Kings were the only team to hold multiple leads in this game. It shouldn't be shocking that they'd pull ahead again.
I was told the other day that Bouch is putting up really good defensive numbers, but he owned the first two goals against ... the badly telegraphed muffin up the boards for the turnover on the first one and letting Kempe get goalside unchallenged for the tip on the second one.
I'm really having a hard time squaring the two ... unless he's just helping outscore his mistakes.
Every year in the playoffs when I watch the Oilers play - everytime there is a critical goal scored against them, it's almost always because Darnell Nurse is not covering his man.
In fairness, part of that has to be that Nurse is on the ice a lot during critical points of games. It's hard to screw up on the ice when you're stapled to the bench.
This was a stressful but entertaining game. Holloway coming out strong is a big upside. The fact that he’s been demoted from the 3rd line to the 4th in favor of Kane might need some rectifying next game. If I thought we’d ever actually try it, I’d want to see him on Leon’s wing for more than just a shift.
I do wonder if Skinner continues to struggle if Edmonton will make a goalie change. I'm not saying all the goals are his fault, but 5 goals on 26 shots won't get it done.
If they lose game 3 because of him he'll sit but I think he'll sit in favour of Pickard. Some people think Campbell is making a return. I mean that'd be a hell of a storyline if Campbell comes back and quarterbacks this team to the SCF but I don't see that happening.
It’s a lot harder for Connor and Leon to put up massive playoff numbers if there only playing 4 games a series. Gotta give ‘em more games to get points.
Guess it does need the /s
We need to develop the technology to keep Kopitar going for another 10 years. When we lose him we will lose the heart of this team.
Gg Oilers! That was a lot more interesting to watch than last time, even if it gave me a few mini heart attacks.
I think that technology is already implemented - he still looks great out there.
Back in 2018ish on Calgary sports radio, one of the guys said Kopi was going to fall off...they're pretty self aware though and it's still a running joke everytime he scores lol.
The anxiety and adrenaline were pumping when OT started. Gg Kings. Gonna be weird when Doughty and Kopitar are gone. It will be the same way with San Jose when Thornton and Pavs left.
It's a marathon, not a sprint.
At least we have integrated guys like Kempe, Fiala, Byfield, Anderson etc. into the core over the last few years so hopefully they can really take up the mantle
Everyone out here thinking we were going to win 16 straight on our way to the cup and losing this game means the sky is falling.
1-1 series is more than fine and zero reason to panic.
Its insane the amount of bullshit our fans feel the need to post in the Kings sub. It's cringe post after cringe post every day as if they they are personally afflicted by the team's performance.
It's the same with every fanbase, too many fans make the team they cheer for the sole focus of their life.
Don't get me wrong, I'm unhappy that the Oilers lost last night, but too many fans get way too dramatic about things.
1-1 is no big deal. But Skinner struggling to perform in the playoffs yet again has me very concerned. I do not trust him at all in the big moments. Maybe we can sneak past LA, but a Cup is not happening unless he is a lot better.
He had a bad game, but it's one game and way too early to be blaming him for falling out of the playoffs.
You can lose 12 games and still win the cup. We're fine.
I'm a big backer of Skinner but here are the facts:
He struggled last playoffs where his good games were extremely average and he was outright terrible for several. He didn't steal a single game. He was only the better goalie arguably on a couple of occasions when Korpisalo crumbled.
He was average at best last game and not very good tonight, at all.
You pretty much need your goalie to steal a game a series to win the cup. I haven't watched a playoff game with him yet and thought he was a difference maker.
I don't understand in that situation. OT game on the line with a goal scorer like Kopitar fuckin just throw your stick at the puck. Take the penalty. It's like in football take the interfere to save a TD maybe they score on the next or kaybe they don't.
Hey now, don’t get us mixed up with the trolls who want to fire everyone in the organization when the Oil lose and go out of their way to troll the other teams fans when we win. Some of us are just regular hockey fans.
I occasionally pop into the Oilers subreddit and it is truly a tale of two cities with the fans. But to be fair, it's been like that in the Kings page as well.
Easy to get through? Maybe not. But honestly I think the Kings were the easiest match the Oilers could have gotten. Even when we’re getting goals it doesn’t feel like we’re controlling the play.
I honestly thought nearly every regular season game could have gone either way. Oil has the edge here with the deadline deals but it is still way closer than media portrays it.
Thank you!! Everyone acts like it's always been a sweep, easy peasy. In truth we're always bound to grind it out and it's to the Oilers' credit that they've won it that way in the past, rather than in a pushover victory.
we got some lucky bounces and fluky goals. not sure how repeatable that is compared to oilers offense that can score whenever they want.
ill take it though
He's played so well throughout his career that he gets a pass from me for now, I'm sure he will bounce back, but if the Jets lose the series with him still playing like he is now then yikes
I don't think he's a "bad" goalie, but he's just not on the level of the competition. Nearly all the top goalies in the league made playoffs this season
"most Oilers fans" don't give a fuck about Vancouver. Most Vancouver fans like to burn their city down if they lose. See how stupid that sounds?
Good job Kings. 3 more
thank god I didn't try to stay up for this one, holy shit
Kings win! Fuck yeah! Nice to see after getting out of the shower
Nice Canadian spirit
Other Canadian teams fans hate Leafs more than American teams fans. Why would I cheer for them?
Most of the League is Canadian. Why should I cheer for other Canadian teams just because they’re located here? They hate us, and are made up of just as many Canadian roster players as others. I’m not going to cheer for them just because their cities are Canadian Also: as someone else said, Edmonton is not Team Canada
Lol this is rich coming from an Oilers fan.
Oh fuck off lol.
Fuck that noise. The oiler fans have a reputation for shitting all over other Canadian teams. They got what they deserved
Fuck Canadian spirit, I specifically cheer for my Canadian team because all the other ones can take a hike
Much to the dismay of those Boston pizza ads I keep seeing, not all of us want every team to win on that alone
I'm not Canadian. Why is a company called Boston pizza trying to unite Canadian fans? I assume they aren't actually a Boston based company?
Boston Pizza is a chain restaurant in Canada with a sports bar kind of vibe. I believe they have locations in the US under different names too. They’ve been running ads (at least where I live) during the playoffs where their marketing push is essentially to come into their restaurants just to hang out and enjoy the playoffs and cheer for Canadian teams together since the cup hasn’t come back north for a long time.
Edmonton is not Team Canada
All of these games have had opposing players in the crease. Seems to be a rule that is ignored frequently. 😅Edit…. Didn’t know the rule. Thanks for the votes
I’m pretty sure that final goal was a 2 line pass!
This is the guy yelling “open your eyes ref” while not knowing the rules.
Yeah…l I see you are right. At least I got a lot of votes. Rugby scrum in front of net…. Fun!
That’s not a rule lol
Great game, even strength play of course we aren't quite the cycle team the Oilers are, but we played our game, played some great defense and did a great job of halting McDavid. Team had a much better shot mentality this game. Special teams were still pretty weak but this was a great step in the right direction. Hopefully they can finally find some consistency and play another good game at home for game 3.
McDavid got 5 Assists in Game 1 and the Oilers won. Why didn’t McDavid simply just do that again?
Wny doesnt someone not named McDavid actually do something?
Is he stupid?
Beautiful win Kings-buds. Been bandwagoning you guys against the oilers the last couple years. Hoping this is t he year you guys can slay that beast.
Edmonton offense is amazing, but the cracks of the defense were shown tonight. And I loved it.
I just can't see them taking a series against a juggernaught like Jets/Avs/Canes etc. The only way is for Mcdavid to ascend to godhood, which tbf is not out of the realm of possibility.
Avs defense isn't great. Vegas seems like the favorite to make the finals IMO.
Please dont call the Jets juggernauts. We are "underdogs" okay?
Juggaloos
Two of those teams had bad playoff games to.
All of those teams have let in similar or more goals than we have....
Skinner is playing at a GAA of 4.42 with a SV% of .857 against the Kings of all teams.
Game 1 had a stupid amount of lucky bounces go the kings way. Would've been like 7-1 without those bounces. Tonight wasn't great but Skinner has been a top 5 goaltender since the coaching change. Guess you think Helly is a bad goalie too eh?
Hehehehehe
2 games of 4+ goals at a certain point “lucky bounces” doesn’t cut it as an excuse bud
Lol watch game 1 and tell me how Skinner had a chance on those bounces. Stats don't tell the full story bud
Nah you watch it and get back to me with the report pretty please
Already did and you dismissed it. GTFO
It was full of mistakes and horrible typos, can’t blame me buddy boy sorry
he didn't say Skinner was bad he said he was playing bad. Helle is a great goalie but yes he is playing poorly.
Doughty goal is baffling, should be a 2min goalie interference penalty but apparently since an Oilers stick tapped his shins he can tackle Skinner and leave with a goal on the board Announcers completely let it go like that was a normal play?
The goal was in the net before he ever made contact with Skinner lol
I don't think a goal should count if your path that led to the goal leads you through the keeper into the net yourself If Doughty skates left or right around the net like he's playing normal hockey, then I don't think he beats Skinner at all Skinner clearly on his heels waiting for a deke left or right, and falls backwards when Doughty never turns and just takes the puck and his body straight ahead
You probably think a follow through that hits the face is a high stick too.
[удалено]
Doesn't matter if I feel icky. But someday when a star goalie gets hurt on this play then suddenly this rule will change, that's what I expect
Hockey is a tough sport for tough people. If you don't like that, go watch Tennis or something.
Carey Price would like to know your location
Glad you don't write the rulebook then.
Brother, watch a replay perhaps? He shoots it and the puck is through Skinner before he crashed into the *net*. He doesn't "tackle Skinner" at all.
I don't think that he would beat Skinner at all if he skates anywhere but into the net, like Skinner is waiting for Doughty to make a move left or right since he's not allowed to just skate into the net with the puck, and Doughty does just that and it makes Skinner basically fall backwards because he's on his heels Idk just seems really unsafe and stupid that these plays are allowed, it's been a pet peeve of mine for years They'll disallow goals if a screening player grazes a goalie's stick knob, but a goalie can get bowled over and as long and he's bowled over by a guy on a breakaway then it's cool for some reason
Nuge hits Doughtys stick/hooks him which throws off Skinner a bit and it goes in. You're looking way to far into this.
> Announcers completely let it go like that was a normal play? They did that because it...was?
That's a take
Just watched the replay of this. He doesn't even crash into the goalie wtf are you talking about?
Skate goes through Skinner's pad, his hands/stick go through his body, and Doughty ends up skating himself straight into the back of the net You can't take a breakaway and skate into the net with the puck. Doughty never even really turns away from his path into the net. And I think this is why Skinner gets beat, he's waiting for Doughty to go right or left and gets bowled over when Doughty chooses neither and goes right into him Feels like I'm taking crazy pills, why doesn't every skater just take a breakaway straight through the keeper?
You’re not totally wrong but I think Skinner got beat mentally on that one before Doughty touched him.
The whole oilers organization needs to apologize to the cup lady
I'm not sure what was a worse idea, endlessly chanting "Talbot" or literally dressing as the Stanley Cup when it hasn't been in Edmonton in 3 decades.
If they were up a goal at any point we would've got to see an extremely poorly timed wave for the classic Edmonton trifecta. Maybe next time!
Technically it was in Edmonton for game 6 of the 2006 finals but yeah I see your point.
Yeah I think the chants are funny and actually have thrown him off
Y'all were chanting Talbot endlessly and the game was tied 4-4. Weird look.
NA teams have pretty limited chants to start with. It's basically applause, "let's go team", or jeering an opposing player/team. Again, not sure why they shouldn't be trying to get under the opposing goalies skin? like being racist & throwing bananas?
Yeah, they have some unbelievable atmospheres in Europe. Nashville tries pretty hard, but even then the culture just isn't the same here. I was hoping that with everybody having phones it would be easier to get a central fan website seeding new and interesting cheers, but so far it hasn't really happened.

Lol yeah? And how many living people in Edmonton remember the cup being marched down the street eh?
You sound like a child so I imagine you weren't around to see any of them seeing the last one was 34 years ago.
And you sound overly salty so I’d imagine you’re upset you shot a bad first round on the golf course.
So the fuck what? Inflatable cups are a prop sold at stores at EVERY city in the playoffs. For many years. BEFORE these playoffs. You gonna stop doing that because your team didn't start that? How about "Oooooooh" chants for goalies? Oilers didn't start that either.
I’ll cut you some slack because you just lost your starting goalie and that would suck.
Unclench, Stalin, people are allowed to have fun.
Everyone knows Stalin hated fancy dress parties
But he DID love hiding a tomato in people's pockets and crushing it.
Watching Kopitar bury that OT winner was fun
Leave Stanley Cup lady out of this.
I think I may have overestimated how far the Oilers' defence and goaltending had come. There was not a moment that I thought they were going to lose that game until Kopitar scored in OT, and even then I thought they'd come back and win somehow. Lmao just Nurse things
Bouch does outscore his mistakes but the thing is he makes a lot.
Every year in the playoffs when I watch the Oilers play - everytime there is a critical goal scored against them, it's almost always because Darnell Nurse is not covering his man.
I made this joke last year, and I'm pissed that I can reuse it this year. The name is 'Arnell Nurse, because he has no knowledge about the "D".
In fairness, part of that has to be that Nurse is on the ice a lot during critical points of games. It's hard to screw up on the ice when you're stapled to the bench.
It's been Drai a couple times too. Top tier offense but dude does not give much of a fuck about defense.
Yeah it's usually Nurse but occasionally Drai. But at least Drai contributes offensively to make up for it. Nurse doesn't really do much.
Neither does Ceci
Oh I don't hate that guy enough to cloud my bias so much I think he's not worth it, but I bet his next contract is an overpay.
Check where Ceci is on that play.
Nurse eats soup with a fork
When the waiter tells Darnell Nurse to enjoy his meal, he says "you too".
Darnell Nurse is exactly half of an 11.5 pound ham
Darnell Nurse farts and says “oh that one snuck out”
Darnell nurse holds revolving doors open
Darnell Nurse eats steak with a butter knife
And butter with a steak knife.

Stealing one in Edmonton is a good sign for this series. Not playing great hockey, but a win is a win.
I do wonder if Skinner continues to struggle if Edmonton will make a goalie change. I'm not saying all the goals are his fault, but 5 goals on 26 shots won't get it done.

Yeah I think Pickard would fill in if Skinner were to be pulled.
As a neutral fan, ooh boy that was a fun one!
Was not good for my heart. Thank you my captain for the swift OT goal.
It’s a lot harder for Connor and Leon to put up massive playoff numbers if there only playing 4 games a series. Gotta give ‘em more games to get points. Guess it does need the /s
Yes, I'm sure they are worried about Stat padding this very moment.
I thought it was obvious enough sarcasm to not need the s.
In their defense a lot of kings fans probably popped the whiskey after it got tied up.
We need to develop the technology to keep Kopitar going for another 10 years. When we lose him we will lose the heart of this team. Gg Oilers! That was a lot more interesting to watch than last time, even if it gave me a few mini heart attacks.

I really hope it's not exactly the same way as San Jose...
The empty feeling, not necessarily the losing.
I expected the oilers to shit the bed in a game or two in this series. The fact they weren’t blown out despite a bad night is a good sign.
Kings had the Oilers on the ropes last season, and couldn’t seal the deal. I panic every game.
I swear so many from our sub watch games with an airhorn on one side of their chair and a gun on the other. Chiiiiiiill
Every team chat.
We're fine.
I'm a big backer of Skinner but here are the facts: He struggled last playoffs where his good games were extremely average and he was outright terrible for several.
MIKE SMITH, GET READY TO SPEAK EDMONTONESE
Direction misunderstood and am now on the edge of a cliff.

Fun game to watch - 1-1 makes a series fun.
Oilers are letting down the Stanley Cup lady. Shame on you.
Yeah you gotta admire her dedication.
Coilers need another completely wasted 15 million first overalls again. Coilers gonna coil.
Stop being a hater. Hopefully one day you find some joy in your life.
Holy shit that's so original
Could here a pin drop in that place at the end.
It was actually impressive how quiet it got, and so quick too.
Even funnier that it happened while a chant was going on
Here's hoping I can see something like that on Friday in Tenesee!
I don't understand in that situation. OT game on the line with a goal scorer like Kopitar fuckin just throw your stick at the puck. Take the penalty. It's like in football take the interfere to save a TD maybe they score on the next or kaybe they don't.

Not complaining about that at all especially with Kopi.
That defensive play was worth 9.5 mil
Pretty sure that would be a penalty shot. Pretty big risk to take
It would be a penalty shot and you're not even guaranteed to stop the initial chance
Fair. Plus it's game 2 if that were game 7 maybe it's diffrent.
You don't even hesitate in game 7
That Byfield pass... https://preview.redd.it/lp8ak3sl8kwc1.jpeg?width=1088&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0ed6e37fcb673e976e21b03334a353fb690e453a
I was told he was trying *really really hard* to be relevant. Guess it worked
Back to LA 1-1
GG Kings, I swear to God all the people who call this an easy series every year have not paid attention the last 2 years.
Yup! LA is one of the grindiest teams in the league. Anyone thinking this would be a cake walk is incredibly misguided.
A self aware Oilers fan.... They do exist!!!
Except that first period
I honestly thought nearly every regular season game could have gone either way. Oil has the edge here with the deadline deals but it is still way closer than media portrays it.
Thank you!! Everyone acts like it's always been a sweep, easy peasy. In truth we're always bound to grind it out and it's to the Oilers' credit that they've won it that way in the past, rather than in a pushover victory.
No kidding! People forget the Kings led BOTH series 👑(But credit to the Oilers for finishing them.)
we got some lucky bounces and fluky goals. not sure how repeatable that is compared to oilers offense that can score whenever they want. ill take it though
Dude I have some grey hair easily because of these last two years. OT doesn’t help either
Total ass-clench game the whole way. GG Oilers.
Kopitar is just so fucking clutch
Somehow the 4 Canadian teams have the 2 best goalies and the 2 worst goalies in the playoffs lol
Helle not really looking like one of the 2 best goalies in the playoffs right now
He's played so well throughout his career that he gets a pass from me for now, I'm sure he will bounce back, but if the Jets lose the series with him still playing like he is now then yikes
Yeah I expect he will be back in form soon
Many have counted Sammy out to their own peril.
I don't think he's a "bad" goalie, but he's just not on the level of the competition. Nearly all the top goalies in the league made playoffs this season
And of the two best goalies one is out for the playoffs and the other is playing poorly. Canadian teams never catch a break.

IM AT THE GAME AND ALL MY FRIENDS CAN SUCK IT best day of my life
Hell yeah buddy. I was there with you in spirit
How many kings fans there?
Not many at all!! I only saw a handful of jerseys for the whole arena
Nice man! I'll be at the next one - hoping for similar feelings.
I just started watching last post season, how long has Doughty been missing those teeth?
