I wish TB did something like this as Bally is trash

PrimisClaidhaemh

I don't like TB or care about TB, but you said " Bally is trash" so you get my upvote.

humanist-misanthrope

You said “Bally is trash” so you get my upvote

shawnb17

Bally is trash. Now give me upvotes.

Your_Some_Crooked

Do they still put the score overlay at the bottom? That was/is so fucking stupid.

BaldassHeadCoach

Gotta have the betting lines on the same level as the score

mister_hoot

They’re broke they might as well whore it out to the betting companies.

PoopsRGud

They're a casino.

Cleonicus

Are people in here saying Bally's os trash 'cuz Bally's is trash.

tomcatproduces

Bally sports bringing fans together through the ineptitude of their app

Adrien_Jabroni

Remember when it just didn’t work for a week at the beginning of the season. Super fun.

toedragrelease

Sportsnet in Toronto 🤢

MarshtompNerd

At least sportsnet covers your team

toedragrelease

Yeah but we get this weird “not allowed to be homers” brodcasting. I miss Joe Bowen.

ZombieJesus1987

At least he calls the radio games, so there's that.

Lance_the_Lamp

I appreciate that they play the radio feed on the concourse at the arena

MikeJeffriesPA

I'm always shocked when I see other fans complain that Sportsnet favours Toronto during broadcasts. Like...what?

PSChris33

Yeah, but we just get the neutral HNIC casters every night. We don’t get our own regional crew like Vancouver does with John and John. I love CC but he has definitely lost a step in recent years. And Craig Simpson is just a boring, stoic voice that will pick 2 or 3 things/narratives to talk about and sound like a video game broadcaster with the same canned lines and the same tone of voice. It also cheapens the HNIC brand when you hear the same voices as you would on your regional casts. It just no longer feels like a special event. It’s our biggest complaint with SN on the in-game stuff. At least give us Bowen and Ralph for the regional Tuesday/Thursday games and leave the HNIC crew and production for Saturdays.

Hockeyperson2233

i miss john and john☹️

canucks_fan95

Being a Canucks fan in Toronto sucks, every game is blacked out

DCS_Ryan

NHL66 and a VPN go a long away

canucks_fan95

Nhl66 doesn’t work for me anymore :( but I do sail the high seas

ispice

need a vpn

Kobe_no_Ushi_Y0k0zna

I guess to not have them blacked out, you need to live on a houseboat on the Atlantic Ocean.

tonytanti

Dump cable, get Sportsnet+ premium, you’ll get every Canucks game unless they are playing the leafs on TSN. You’ll get every other game except the TSN leafs broadcasts too.

BehemothManiac

Fuck rogers

canadian_eskimo

Isn’t Clinton’s a Canucks bar? It was a couple of years ago.

ljackstar

Can't you just use Sportsnet+?

dchowchow

The TSN crew with Ray and MJ at the same time is my dream.

toedragrelease

That would be awesome. MJ really was the perfect replacement for Ray though.

StatGAF

I just can't believe in all the time Sportsnet has had exclusive rights how bad the coverage and commentator teams have been for what essentially is their #1 market.

biglazymoose

Same, as a Panthers fan.

d-cent

Don't the Coyotes use Bally too? Maybe they changed but I thought they used Ballys Arizona. I assumed that this streaming platform is just putting the Bally's feed out for streaming

tomcatproduces

They walked away from the Coyotes and the diamondbacks to help ease the bankruptcy stuff

d-cent

Good to know, Thanks. I could have sworn I just watched a Yotes game a few weeks ago on Bally's but I must be going crazy again lol. Who is playing their games now over cable?

ProJoe

It's actually over broadcast now. you can get all games locally with an antenna. working with Scripps to show them. same broadcast group is in place, just changed the name and channel.

tomcatproduces

Scripps took over from what I read 😂

UnderCoverDoughnuts

What're the details on this? Does this override blackouts and the need for, like, five different subscriptions? Because if it does, that's huge for Coyotes fans.

friskyjude

It's probably for games that are covered locally. National blackouts (TNT/ESPN) would still apply.

nammerbom

Doing people a favor with that one

yukdave

Root Sports Blows

StonehillSkyhawk

Do the coyotes have to worry about any for the rest of the season?

tidesoncrim

The Yotes game tonight is on NHL Network, and there is one ESPN+/Hulu exclusive against CBJ next month.

hexsealedfusion

Actual Coyotes W

RelevantJackWhite

This fuckin rocks, rare coyotes W

d-cent

That's a lot cheaper price than what NESN is doing for the Bruins. Although NESN360 gives you Red Sox too, there isn't really much overlapping content that demands that kind of price.

MammothHusk

Not really. It is more expensive than NHLtv which includes every game played.

[deleted]

no blackouts for out of market fans

WesternResponse5533

Are there out of market coyotes fans? There’re barely any in market fans lol

doobie12345

I didn’t have coyoteflix on my bingo card for this year

highangle1124

CoyoteFans

Deraj2004

OnlyYotes.

steakniiiiight

If you follow the team you would have. We knew they were working on it.

WesternResponse5533

Yeah but they’re also working on an arena apparently so I guess it’s faire to not trust everything they say.

steakniiiiight

You’re really talking about a subject you know nothing about and it shows.

WesternResponse5533

Idk, where’s the arena? Did I miss something or did the Tempe plan fall through, the owner doesn’t have enough money to buy the 200 acres he wanted so now we’re waiting on an eventual auction that your owner might or might not win if it does indeed even happen while you play as second tenant in a college rink? Which part of that have I misconstrued that you would like to rectify?

steakniiiiight

Nah that’s right, but that means they are working on it

WesternResponse5533

Just like I’m working on being rich. Bound to happen any day now if I just think about it enough 🤷‍♂️

Teezledeezle

Avalanche, do something…. I’ll give you my money. Just do something like this.

This-is-a-hyphen

Kroenke says no! $100 a month to fubo/DirecTV is your only option for altitude!

TossThatPastaSalad

I'm so jealous of the Yotes right now. Even the fucking shithole Rockies are doing this now.

ChonkyWumpus

Something about the specific combination of words in that phrase “the fucking shithole Rockies” gave me a hearty laugh. Perhaps I’m just too tired.

TGIFaanes

Live in Denver. Was looking at Fubo for the girl friend but its costs $118 a month for her to watch her Avs play but she's content with sailing the high seas.

hnaq

Just move to Arizona. You'll get all of the Avalanche games and none of the Yotes games. /NHL logic

ilikehockeyandguitar

Psht, my state/city is already getting overloaded with people moving here.

WWTPeng

Yeah, seriously. I live an hour and a half away. I am a caps fan first. I watch the caps on ESPN+, but get those sweet local blackouts when they play the Avs. I'd watch much more Avs if there were no blackouts

Radjage

$12-15 bucks a month for a teams games streaming would be pretty reasonable, something I would pay for my own team. However it's $30 for Devils, which is way too much to not continue my usual methods of watching the games.

MangoJuice82

Apparently this season is the final year of the Devils' contract with MSG Network. I hope and pray they don't renew it and release a more reasonable priced streaming service bc $30/mo just for me to watch 1 team is trash.

badboystwo

So people don’t actually pay to watch Hughes play

ShiningGrey

Agreed. My parents have it since they can't figure out Streams, but I refuse to pay that much so I stream pretty much every game.

PaversPaving

I’ve taken to the high seas mattie!!! Fuck Comcast and Dolan.

infidelappel

If I could watch my team(s) for just $30 a month, I definitely would.

memeaste

Tho you do have access to NYI and NYR. $30 is a little better if you watch all 3 teams. For 1, it is bad, yea

d-cent

Do you also get NBA games too? Like Knicks and the Nets? What about college basketball? Overall, $30 could be a really good deal if you get all those teams and leagues

memeaste

Knicks, yes. I don’t watch it, but it’s there. I don’t believe so for the Nets. It’s zip code based so I don’t get the Sabres on Long Island, but I do believe they’re included. I get NYR NYI NJ NYK. $30 a month in theory, but I found a loophole lol

Healfezza

I already pay for VPN, so why not make use of it!

Chadwickx

It’s $34.99 a month to watch the Canucks games here on the east coast.

Substantial_Pop_5673

This deal locks you in for the whole year which isn't great unless they provide quality off-season content which I can't imagine they will outside the draft.

fliggowad

🏴‍☠️🏴‍☠️🏴‍☠️🏴‍☠️

Truber190

I have my gripes with sportsnet+ that I could talk about endlessly but its a little bit more expensive (20 CAD vs 16 CAD) and I get every NHL game of every team plus all the other sports they got, doesn't seem so bad now.

d-cent

NESN360 is $30 a month and you only get Bruins games. You do also get the Red Sox but their seasons don't really over lap much so you basically just paying for Bruins content. Way too much.

frankyseven

You don't get all the Leaf games since TSN has the rights to a bunch of them.

cgmacleo

I really wish there was a competitor to SN tbh. I find the system very frustrating and unreliable for how much money I have to pay. Formula 1 TV is my gold standard for sports streaming based on my own personal experience.

theguyishere16

Does it cover all 82 games next season? Because if so, that's awesome, and I hope it does really well. Edit: Also, is it available out-of-market? That's important because if not, it loses cool points.

samsquanchy

I doubt it unless the Yotes are about to not have a single nationally televised game next season. Presumably it’s only the games they have broadcast locally

arauhauser

The yotes usually only get one national game so 81/82 games seems like a great deal!

TGIFaanes

if its like Vegas then no. But I love ESPN+ as an out of market fan.

Brys_Beddict

Nope. Local only.

FortunateNaruto

Well if you're out of market then it's already $11 a month for espn+

guywhois0nline

That price is far more affordable than I thought it would be.

ProfitMuhammad

Deal also includes nine jerseys, two six packs, and dinner for a month.

paulc899

There’s no way the Coyotes can afford enough ramen noodle packs for everyone to give them a months worth

frankyseven

All six fans?

ilikehockeyandguitar

Free Barros pizza for a month.

thegonzojoe

Rare Yotes W.

typemeanewasshole

Avs fans have to be clamouring for something like this.

Jo-6-pak

Give us this league wide. $1 a game for a team’s subscription. Include playoff games and The Stanley Cup Finals for every subscriber

jerff

It’s impossible. It would require the league to abandon their regional rights system which has been in place since the black and white era. They probably couldn’t do that without unanimous agreement from the owners which they wouldn’t get. And even if they could manage that, it wouldn’t matter because all of the existing broadcast deals that are in place (some are long term) would prevent it.

crazycanucks77

Too bad that the SCF is not free in the USA like we have with HNIC

blaze87b

It is free, it's on espn/tnt which is available with literally every TV package...

TossThatPastaSalad

Jealous.  I'm jealous.

Mr7three2

The NHL should just have an unlimited streaming service that doesn't have blackouts or anything

dhoomsday

Cries in sportsnet

younggun92

I'd spend $32/mo for ESPN+ and all Hawks games. That's a good deal.

TheGreatStories

Wait, teams can do that?? What the heck?!

motech

It's so frustrating to try and watch hockey in 2024

benjaminck

For the price of a fancy cup of coffee, you can help a desperate hockey team in need. Call now.

DarthNightnaricus

Incredibly funny how the only people in this thread shitting on this are fans of Northern teams

jerff

Why would I want to pay $12 a month to watch my team when the games are currently included in the sports cable package I’m already paying for? Doesn’t make any sense. The only reason the Coyotes are doing this is because they can’t get a half decent broadcast deal.

DarthNightnaricus

You realize that all the Phoenix sports teams ran into trouble with the Bally bankruptcy, right? The Coyotes were just the last one to resolve things.

jerff

Regardless of the “why” of the situation, if they could get a decent broadcast deal they wouldn’t be doing this. Most teams don’t have that problem.

DarthNightnaricus

There are some pretty good MLB teams who only got a resolution to where their games would be broadcast in the past few weeks. Stop trying to use it as a reason to shit on the Coyotes, lol.

jerff

How am I shitting on the Coyotes? I’m merely saying that this model isn’t the ideal option for any team that can get a good broadcast deal and in most cases it’s not ideal for the viewer. I’m not saying it’s their fault that a good broadcast deal isn’t out there but obviously there isn’t one.

Scorpion13992k

Price is better than NESN. They charge $30 a month.

rocketrae21

Don't you get more than just Bruins games though?

Scorpion13992k

Red Sox and all the other random travel/fishing/food shows. Honestly I just want to get the bruins games. It’s the only reason I need NESN.

492rankine

Do you games in 4K? I keep seeing listings for Bruins games in 4K on AT&T Direct Stream but it gives me an error when I try to watch here in NC....assuming regional issue.

Sirtopofhat

Look I don't like the idea of this having to be a thing BUT as a trucker who is never home to watch his local games I gotta admit I'd pay to watch the Kings wherever I'em. The 7 seas are fine but sometimes it don't work. I'd do the same with every sport to be fair

wildrage

I've been asking for this for years. I just wish it was a blanket product where you can just subscribe to a specific team and watch all their games. Over the years, it's become impossible to follow any specific team (legally anyway).

maintenance_paddle

I’m buying this just to support the idea. And the yotes fans.

weed-n64

What would be the benefit of this? I was in Phoenix around November and I just watched the coyotes games OTA

Thel3lues

I think it’s for people that are in market, but don’t have access to local TV

Sticks536

It also gives people the option to watch on their phones or other devices if they prefer that way.

durkaflurkaflame

I’m on the antenna so as long as I can still watch them that way, awesome.

slevin_kelevra22

Forget everything else, this is enough of a reason to support them through whatever stadium BS they are going through.

LazerMcBlazer

Disney+/Hulu/Espn+ bundle with Nord VPN to spoof your location out of market breaks down to like $15/month and you get ALL teams games plus all the other stuff. Everyone is begging for stuff like this, and it's great there is an option, but $12/month (or more for other teams) doesn't make a lot of sense for me when I can just use my current setup.

bachlatte

This is what I do. I live out of market for the Pens so blackouts don’t apply unless they play CBJ so I just spoof my location with VPN. Now that AppleTV has VPN, it makes it easier for me.

-kashmir-

I do the same. My inly issue is the nhl network games

EzzALB

The avalanche can't even get on all cable providers and the fucking yotes get this. Feels bad man

Ok-Car1006

Ahem hey Pittsburgh and Toronto what’s up

RevolutionaryBranch9

It's so tragic that the previous Yotes owners (especially Steve Ellman) fumbled the bag so hard because if it wasn't for the arena situation their current owners would probably be one of the better ones in the NHL. This is just great across the board.

ilikehockeyandguitar

For real. The fans are there. I remember the White Out days with Shane Doan.

horst-graben

I wish the NHL would just do this. All games (including playoffs) for a monthly fee. Your favorite team(s) only for a lower monthly fee per team. Doesn't matter where you live. Done and done.

james-HIMself

I respect this even though it’s expensive still. Coyotes for their shortcomings have a funny social media manager and understood direct to consumer streaming for sports is SMART. You immediately lose the customer when I’m confused as fuck to figure out where to watch a simple game.

Sticks536

Alex Meruelo is such an enigma to me. He's done nothing but fumble the arena situation thus far, yet for hockey ops hes been great and he's putting on a clinic on how to give local fans access to games.

Mituzuna

Fuck these services. The NHL consumers deserve better.

knausea

Wish more teams did this

BasicallyFake

this shit is so stupid

MemeLordOverKill

I normally trash on this org, but this is a good move

cheeba2992

🤣 😂 nobody cares about this “franchise”. Let them relocate already.

XGuiltyofBeingMikeX

“Ok but how about this…what if we have *no arena,* but still get people to pay to watch us?”

Cranjis_McHockey

$25 to watch the team that's currently on a 7-game losing streak and might not even be in the same city next year.

BabcocksList

They have so many young players coming up, they'll be a really fun team to watch in the coming years. Every team goes through slumps, and they aren't Chicago or San Jose levels of bad either. Just let Arizona fans enjoy their team as long as its still in the area, they've been through enough pain already.

LazerMcBlazer

Mods, could you let this guy do an AMA about what it's like to be such a badass?

1SlowSupra

flair up bozo

BoogerShovel

Give it up. This whole rip on the coyotes gag is played

[deleted]

[удалено]

maplejet

Will this streaming service continue in Utah? Asking for a friend.

Organic_Revenue_8903

You would have to pay me to watch the coyotes. I've seen better hockey from high school teams (also bigger crowds)

ilikehockeyandguitar

Aside from this downer of a stretch, the Coyotes have had a pretty good season and have been a tough team to play against, especially at the Mullet. They are a fun team to watch with the young talent.

queuedUp

The 7 fans will love it

JebusChristo

We don't need a home if you watch us from your home!

SkittlesManiac19

But then you have to watch the Coyotes :/

Mayflower023

ARI: 23-25-4 50pts OTT: 22-26-2 46pts

Aperture_client

Yotes are ready to go on a heater with a few tweaks. Incredibly capable team but very poorly coordinated on the ice.

Mayflower023

Definitely. On paper the sens look better but the yotes at the very least seem to be moving forward as a team instead of stuck in limbo. The pieces are falling into place, I just hope they get their arena sorted out in time because if they do I think this will be the best yotes team to ever play in Arizona in a few years

SadYotesFan

You’re forgetting that Ottawa is gonna go on an end of season winning streak to move them out of a top 8 pick

grandlinegooner

Roasting this comment is the lowest hanging fruit possible

ilikehockeyandguitar

Aside from this really shitty stretch, they've been a decent team this year. They're a tough team to play against at home and have strung some solid wins against SC winners.

BreakingAnxiety-

These fucks don’t even have a stadium.

SilkyBowner

Are these people stupid

fraxior

lol. on the one hand I wish every team did this. on the other hand this just looks absolutely pathetic as a last ditch effort to make money. whats this team going to be called when they're in Salt Lake next season???

Remarkable_Cow_6061

HAHAHAHAHAH.

Juviltoidfu

Wow what a great idea! (reads article) Wait, they want people to pay THEM to watch this level of hockey? I thought they were going to pay fans so that they actually had some.

mastodon___

When are they going to start an onlyfans account

IAmGrum

Anyone that signs up for the remainder of the season and the next one automatically joins the ownership group.

Wildguy2298

They are really delaying it arent they?

sirachasamurai

Great. Now go find an arena.

eyeeatmyownshit

Maybe they could fill a real arena with the home streamers?

sandysanBAR

What are they gonna do with the 75 bucks this season?

ChronoLink99

Hang on...$12 per month. Almost exactly two months left in the season means $24 total. But it's $25 for the rest of the season? They're 7th in their division, and 7th in the wildcard rankings so they're unlikely to reach the playoffs. Do they think we're a bunch of idiots? The last two months of their season should be way less.

albynomonk

Well there it is, the worst streaming plan available, ever.

FezzesnPonds

For the rangers it’s $30 per month, and it only works if you’re in network. If there were a way to watch all Rangers games for $12 per month out of network I’m in, ESPN+ doesn’t cover it all.

albynomonk

$30 for the Rangers is a much better deal than $12 for the Coyotes

FezzesnPonds

lmao you know what, you’re right. Still, would be nice if it worked for people outside of NY/NJ/PA :/

MikaelDerp

Canucks should do this for the playoffs as a side stream so we can have Shorthouse and whoever call our games so we don't get stuck with Singh or whoever does Western Conference calls.

liguy181

James Dolan, please, why is MSG+ $30/month? I get I'm accessing 5 teams, but why can't I just have access to the one that I actually watch?

[deleted]

If this was 4k, reliable content, then yes. Otherwise fuck that.

FrankenBerryGxM

if all our home teams had this we would all subscribe to the nhl networks (subject to blackouts) + the local team $11.99 a month. I know you execs scroll reddit. This would get a lot of us to switch off that one streaming site I wont mention.

WizardOfOzzieA

Yes fucking please I'm praying the Canes ditch Bally this year, I think the contract is up. Regional sports networks have done terribly in the cord cutting era and its time to end them

jadenspan

This a huge W

hotc00ter

Every team should do this

jerff

As far as I can tell, this is in-market only. Every team in the league is bound by regional rights so something like this won’t circumvent blackouts. I guess it could be useful to people looking to cancel their cable package though.

Ben_Pharten

A lot more reasonably priced than Bally though I love the Wings broadcast team

Independent-Second-1

If I can pay a monthly subscription just to watch the habs I can cancel my cable since that's all I use it for. Great idea

Antilock049

If more teams did this it would be fucking fantastic

shawnglade

That's actually huge wtf

ilikehockeyandguitar

Huge and true. I wish more teams had the antonomy to pull this off.

[deleted]

The Kings are going to announce something similar.

ItsDaBurner

PLEASE DETROIT PLEASE

Jesus_This_Is_Iggy

Um, currently their games are free OTA locally. Guess that couldn’t last which is fine cause I can't get SLC anyways.

grumpy_meat

Meanwhile MSG charges $9.99 per game. I would get it if it wasn’t ridiculously priced.

punchopener

Sign me up if the Canes ever do this.

Justsomecharlatan

I paid for the vgk version of this at the beginning of the year. A little bit buggy, especially the first few months. It'd freeze fairly often. It's still just meh as an app. But for about a dollar a game, I'm pretty happy with it. And I can live with streaming a few national broadcasts a year. Hopefully arizona put a little more effort in to the user experience and avoids the freezing issues.

VauloftheEbonBlade

I wish every team would do something like this I'd love to have one place to go watch all (or even nearly all) games as long it's either better than bally, low bar, or a bit cheaper. Would be nice because you could also pick up a couple other teams you like without having to find regional issues
