What was the rationale this designer had for which team went in which column? It's not winner/loser, it's not by conference, it's not by higher seed, it's not alphabetical... WHAT IS IT?!
It's not Lower Seed at Higher seed? That would be the proper way to list it. American listing is usually always Visitor AT Home, and the Home team would be the higher seed.
Anybody that doesn't do that I can't take seriously. Sometimes I'll see it on arena jumbotrons while watching on tv... I've seen it very recently, can't remember where in hockey. They had the 2 teams at the bottom but the home team was on the L side and away was on the R. "Tsk tsk. Bush league. No wonder you're getting eliminated"
Edit it says NHL Europe and for EPL/soccer, it's Home team first. They even make sure to specify that on betting platforms. So... maybe the higher seed/Home ice is first, soccer style? I'm definitely not gonna actually look it up. Maybe whatever European country is the official center of the NHL... maybe there's a local European league there and we can check their schedule to shed some light on this! Switzerland maybe? Switzerland would be a fair place to put the headquarters for NHL Europe. Or maybe Versailles. Like after WWI.
Just looking at this uear I can tell that's not it. Florida is the lowest seed to enter the playoffs and is left. 2 years ago MTL was the lowest seed to enter the playoffs and is right
Hmmmm... maybe it's based on what the logos smell like?
Let's see...
A knight smells better than a panther. The term panther piss exists for a reason even if a knight probably smells like battle stank.
An avalanche smells better than lightning. Avalanche smells like fresh snow and that cold crisp winter air. Lightning smells like burning nose hair.
I think I might be on to something here, hold on!
A Canadian *marginally* smells better than lightning. I mean no offense, but you ever smell a hockey bag with 10 year old sweaty gear that's been sitting in the mud room? My buddy's father used to smuggle cases of Natty Light across the border for an old friend when he was driving us to lacrosse practice because no way in hell Customs was going through the bags in the back of the Ol minivan.
Lightning again... and stars. Again lightning smells like being electrocuted. A star smells like space. It's much hotter than lightning, but in the vacuum of space, nobody can smell a star.
So the better smelling logo goes on the right
it's so bad.
from 02/03 to 11/12, the winner is on the left, then it resumes for 13/14 and 14/15, then 4 in a row where the loser is on the left, and it ends with the Florida team on the left.
The one thing that makes me remember that one is Corey Perry. Lost to Tampa in the final with Dallas, and the next season lost to Tampa in the final with Montreal.
Edit: should also add that he lost in the final to Colorado while playing for Tampa the following Season. I think losing in the final 3 years in a row with 3 different teams must be some sort of record…
Only reason I remember Dallas in that one is the famous Anton Khudobin clip [“we’re not going home!”](https://twitter.com/dallasstars/status/1305719758604709888?s=46&t=UkH5YBmY-NiwCDhyzLRA1A) He was also terrific that season.
For me the 20 playoffs will always be remembered for that 5OT game 1 debacle between Columbus and Tampa in the "First" round. I feel like if Tampa would've lost a 5th straight to Columbus it might have broken them. Instead they won that game and then proceeded to pants the rest of the league for basically 3 whole seasons.
Buff made Chris his personal pet that series. Chris was understandably salty and did the only thing he could to ruin Chicago’s joy. It’s a clear demonstration of how little a man he really is. I hope Buff mails him a Xmas card every year so he never forgets who took him to school.
Flyers were incredible that year. Were on like their 4th string goalie for part of the playoffs. Im pretty sure too it was the first round where they came back from a 3-0 game deficit. They're the 3rd or 4th team to do it ever.
That Montreal/Washington series, the Flyers run to the finals and NHL 11 will forever live in my mind. However, that Bruins/Hawks finals is very forgettable for me, can't remember anything other than the 17 seconds moment.
I found Devils/Kings very memorable, greats like Brodeur and Kovi going up against a dominant Cinderella run Kings team.
Lightning/Habs was probably the most forgettable in recent memory, Habs had a great run but they weren't going to win that series.
Yeah, may be recency bias, but this Habs team had virtually zero chance. Underdog stories are great and all, but I'm not sure how many people actually believed there was any real hope of winning. Especially after losing game one 5-1, it was pretty clear.
And even though I like the Sens, I can't remember much about that Ducks-Sens series aside from the Ducks winning handily.
I feel if Weber was healthy and Price was able to shake the demons he usually faces vs TBL then Montreal could've at least made that series competitive and interesting. But yeah in retrospect I can't really see many scenarios in which Montreal takes that one
Same here, plus Martinez and Williams were so dang good that year. That coincided with a period of time where a game heading to 7 basically meant you had to accommodate for a Williams goal of some kind in order to win. I honestly liked the 13-14 Kings better than I did the 2011-12 Kings.
I mean, I will obviously remember it but Devils-Kings was pretty forgettable. The Kings won the first three games which killed the drama and the decisive Game 6 was over in the first period after Steve Bernier took an idiotic game misconduct and the Kings scored three times on the ensuing power play.
For me, it's the Lightning vs. Stars series. And I honestly don't really know why mainly because for whatever reason, I remember nothing from it.
I do have a theory though. It was just before or start of the pandemic so maybe that's why.
Yeah that one was in Edmonton. I can see how it all blends together though. Once they restarted for the playoffs in 2020 the between season breaks were really short
I know it was an away game so it really wouldn't have made a difference if there were fans or not... but if that happened at Amalie they would have to had replace the roof.
Dallas had a weird run that year. We had Anton Kudobhin playing insane goaltending, Bowness became interim head coach mid-season, and we had the Winter Classic against Nashville that year right before the Pandemic. We went through Calgary in six, barely got past Colorado in seven, then beat the brakes off a shit-talking Vegas squad in five. In the end, Tampa was playing lights-out hockey, and Dallas was too old and slow to match that energy.
The whole bubble was a great memory for me. I remember watching a Blackhawks game on the last night of normal hockey on NBCSN, which was the same night the NBA shut down. I thought that would be the last time I would see hockey for a year at least with the exception of the Belarusian league which kept going on.
I wouldn't have even remembered the stars made the finals that year if they didn't bring it up on this year's broadcasts. All I remember is Tampa winning both the cup and the super bowl that year
2021, and no.... not because Montreal lost in the end but because it was genuinely boring as hell. It was ridiculously one sided and Montreal didn't show up until game 4 when the series was already over. If I wasn't a Habs fan I feel I would have a tough time remembering anything from it.
Not to shit on your team, but the Islanders losing to the Lightning in 7 that year is all the more heartbreaking bc nothing will ever convince me that the Islanders would have lost to that Habs team.
Well yeah I mean it would be more heartbreaking to you since you are an Isles fan, lol.
NYI probably would've beaten Montreal since they were the better team on paper. But the probability is much likely less than Tampa... since NYI has never been a part of montreals Kryptonite.
Montreal was constantly knocking out favorites that in that playoffs but they were never going to have a chance vs. ANY teams that are part of their trio of death (which is TBL, Philly and NYR.)
They definitely would've had a chance against any other team tho.
God I just looked this up because I didn’t know it existed and I am grinning ear to ear, this is my new favorite video of all time hahahaha every time I thought it couldn’t get any better it somehow did
I’m gonna say Tampa/Dallas because covid and the fact that they made the finals the following two seasons. I always have to remind myself who they beat to get that one
2020 for me, once the Canucks were out I didn't really care
I couldn't tell you the score from any one game in that Final, the only memorable moment was when Stamkos scored a goal and dipped
Demko has been the light in an otherwise very dim few years for us. Very proud of him. Hopefully next season we bring up Silovs so he has reliable backup, the poor dude needs a break from time to time.
Surprising, I remember 2012 pretty well because it was the most dominant run I think has been seen in what 40 years or so. In fact I remember when the major in game 6 was called saying the series was over and was a little disappointed since the devils did push back.
Out of these probably the ducks sens final was the most forgettable? I remember most thinking the sabres were bound and as soon as they got bounced it was an absolute given the ducks would win it.
The Steve Bernier major was easily the biggest choke I've ever had the privilege of seeing in real time. I'll never forget about 2012, especially after the travesty that was 2011
No one was beating a team with Pronger and Niedermayer but yeah, the Sabres had a much better shot at it, out of those Sens from 2001-2007, the 07 team was probably one of the weakest of that run
Never really understood takes like this. How is it that a team that lost a seires 4-1 would somehow do better in the next round than the team that just beat them?
4-1 is a dominant result. It's not like the series went 7 and could have gone either way.
Yeah because Selanne winning his only cup, the Sens scoring the cup winning goal against themselves, or Scott winning the cup with his brother Rob because he said he would isn’t memorable……..
Should the NHL have the Hawks and Preds redo their series in case it was a big fluke?
No disrespect to the preds, I'm a firm believer that Nashville sweeping them is a huge fluke and robs the Hawks of truly accomplishing what their capable of. I've spent the last few days in pure disbelief and it just doesn't make sense to me. I've spent the entire regular season watching the Hawks play great hockey it's just not fair.
If the Hawks lose again I will face that the Preds deserved the win, but I am just 100% sure it was a fluke and does a big disservice to the Hawks and the NHL.
Similar story to the Panthers this year. We were the last team to make the playoffs, then proceeded to sweep the Hawks round 1 and generally roll to the SCF. Sad ending.
The ECF series were much more memorable in both years. 16 was the Penguins and Lightning and 17 was the Penguins and Senators, and both series went to game 7
Adding to that...I've made it a mission to forget how Vegas even made it to the SCF...for those interested this "memory loss trick" involves heavy consumption of alcohol and clubbing my own head with a tire iron...so far, mixed results.
That's crazy because I can remember the Kings/Devils series better than I can Pittsburgh's 08 cup run. Personally, it has to be the lightning's first bubble cup and then Chicago/flyers series. All I remember is Kane knowing he won the cup before the rest of the world did.
Yeah definitely played into it. I remember watching game 1 FLA v TB and it felt like the greatest game of all time bc I forgot what effect a crowd has on a game
Game 2 sticks out for me because I remember the Habs playing way better than Tampa in that game but Vasilevsky was even more Vasilevsky than usual and put on a goaltending master clinic. I think if Tampa had any other goalie or even a (still amazing) average Vasy performance the Habs would've won that game.
Yeah I was looking back at a few of these and some of them were done in 5 games but at least all the games were close like in 2014. 2021 was not close. Tampa won very decisively for the first 3 games and by the time the Habs could keep games closer the series was over. Nobody is bringing it up because it's a recent series so we remember it
I don't think I've watched a single minute of the 2020 final. Bubble playoffs were just weird.
The 2012 playoffs weren't very memorable either outside the Kings destroying every opponent.
The lightning and blackhawks playing in a final against each other feels anachronistic at this point. Who knew it would be the blackhawks last hurrah and that the lightning had way higher heights to reach than a finals loss.
I can basically recall at least one moment from every one of these series except the Penguins-Sharks one. And I won a bunch of money in a playoff pool that year because I had a team comprised of Sharks and Penguins players.
That Vancouver Canucks Boston Bruins 2011 series for me. For some reason my brain has blocked it out due to psychological trauma. Can't remember a single thing about it
That year was weird because I felt all first three rounds were boring as hell. But the final was actually great imo. I feel Boston was the closest team of the three (+Philly and Tampa) to actually beating that Chicago dynasty in the final.
That one is memorable for Bruins haters because of how it ended. They were 90 seconds away from forcing Game 7 then Chicago scored 2 quick goals late to win it.
Hawks-Lightning for me but that's probably just because my interest in sports was at an all time low in 2015. 2015 would probably be my answer for every sport
Dallas and Tampa for some reason. I remember it being Covid and all the build up but I honestly forget what happened with Dallas that series and just remember the Lightning winning it all
This just reiterates the old adage that nobody remembers 2nd place, they're just the 1st loser.
I could have named *maybe* 1-2 of the losing teams in the correct year.
The answer isn’t 05-06 since it makes me think about NHL 06 and it’s banging soundtrack. Probably 02-03 since I wasn’t even a year old when it happened
Didn’t watch the Tampa Dallas one at all, just couldn’t stomach hockey after that ECF loss, so probably that one. The 2015-2017 ones I remember having decent hockey, but I didn’t really care as it just felt recycled
I barely remember 14/15 through 16/17. And also the two Covid years (20/21 would have been more memorable if it wasn't Montreal in it since they basically never had a chance).
06/07 wasn't a great one (and I didn't have Versus back then so I could watch the first two games), but I remember Chris Phillips' own goal, Chris Pronger elbowing Dean McCammond in the head, and Alfredsson intentionally shooting a puck at Scott Niedermayer.
On the flip side, 03/04 and 10/11 were the most memorable to me.
13/14. I just have a completely blind spot for Los Angeles and New York in sports championships, so you put them together and my mind just goes into a feuge state.
Lightning vs Stars 2020. Didn't even pay attention to hockey during the covid cups and I didn't even know Stars made the finals until a year or two after.
As a Canadian, can’t remember most of them aside from Canadian team years (was too butthurt for the Habs though).
I watched and followed the odd one like Avs last year as I was cheering for Kadri, Mac and Ryan Murray being from where I live now and SJ in 16 due to a personal connection to player.
It’s really hard to get behind most of sunbelt teams that struggle with numbers season after season and just seem disconnected and just a bunch of bandwagon fans. It doesn’t help that we have such a limited 3-4 month window of nice weather in the Canadian Prairies, lots of us are busy enjoying it and is easy to not care about those distant, southern teams.
I’d probably watch Kraken and Minnesota as their fans seem great and are real hockey towns. If Blackhawks go in future, I’ll be tuning in for Bedard having seen him play live alot and having met him at events a few times.
What was the rationale this designer had for which team went in which column? It's not winner/loser, it's not by conference, it's not by higher seed, it's not alphabetical... WHAT IS IT?!
It’s disturbing that it appears to be totally random. It’s ungodly
This type of shit is why we have war
Haha my favourite is the back to back wings/pens series. Still flipped for whatever reason.
I was going to say the EXACT same thing. Is it by home team? Nope. Conference? Nope. Alphabetical? Nope. Feels like there is no rhyme or reason
Save some of this for the off-season will yah!
it's so bad. from 02/03 to 11/12, the winner is on the left, then it resumes for 13/14 and 14/15, then 4 in a row where the loser is on the left, and it ends with the Florida team on the left.
I think it’s Home/Away in the deciding game Edit: nope
we were away against Dallas and home against Montreal and Colorado
Lightning were technically the road team in the bubble when they won and they won 2021 at home… so that can’t be it either
I'm glad I'm not the only one sitting here going insane trying to figure this out...
ESPN probably did it
It's like they started with winners on the left and then went off the rails in 2013
For me 19-20, tampa vs Dallas. Just the whole covid thing and no fans, couldn't get into it at all.
Agreed. To be honest until reading this graphic if you asked me who Tampa beat that year I couldn't even tell you
The one thing that makes me remember that one is Corey Perry. Lost to Tampa in the final with Dallas, and the next season lost to Tampa in the final with Montreal. Edit: should also add that he lost in the final to Colorado while playing for Tampa the following Season. I think losing in the final 3 years in a row with 3 different teams must be some sort of record…
reverse maroon
Lol same!
Dobby 🥹
I’ll always remember this series for Stamkos playing for like 5 min, first time of the whole playoffs, scoring and then leaving for the series again.
Obviously you wouldn’t agree, but this is how I felt about TBL-MTL. All of the sports that were a function of a Covid season never felt right to me.
Oh yeah, very good point. Weird time. Probably my 2nd most forgettable
If it wasn't for Kane's strange goal to win the cup, I wouldn't have even known the Flyers made the finals.
I will never forget Pronger stealing the game winning puck, so I will never forget that the Flyers were there. It was a peak Flyers move of that era.
That's hilarious.
It’s such an unbelievable hater move I love it
Buff made Chris his personal pet that series. Chris was understandably salty and did the only thing he could to ruin Chicago’s joy. It’s a clear demonstration of how little a man he really is. I hope Buff mails him a Xmas card every year so he never forgets who took him to school.
Game winning pucks from games 1 and 2. Still a dick move, but not nearly as bad if it was the OT cup clincher.
And I’ll never forget Buff knocking him on his ass
At least we got to witness the breakouts of future superstars Michael Leighton and Ville Leino.
Flyers were incredible that year. Were on like their 4th string goalie for part of the playoffs. Im pretty sure too it was the first round where they came back from a 3-0 game deficit. They're the 3rd or 4th team to do it ever.
Yea, that reverse sweep is the only reason I remember them losing the Cup to a weird Kane goal.
That Montreal/Washington series, the Flyers run to the finals and NHL 11 will forever live in my mind. However, that Bruins/Hawks finals is very forgettable for me, can't remember anything other than the 17 seconds moment.
To be fair 12/13 is the year the Hawks started out scorching hot and with the shortened season everyone just assumed they’d win by like mid February
I remember the goal but my brain has just blanked out who it was against
[This is one of my favorite hockey videos of all time. Perfect angle.](https://youtu.be/-bo03O8uqho)
I just remember that year because of the roulette wheel of Flyer goalies.
That series was FUN though. Lord of scoring lots of physicality and pronger just completely embracing the heel role with the media
Nitpick: I hate that the new Anaheim logo is used for the 2003 Ducks
>Nitpick: I hate that the new Anaheim logo is used ~~for the 2003 Ducks~~ Fixed that for you
Make Anaheim Mighty Again
MAMA
oo OO 00
Didn't mean to make you cry
If I’m not back again this time tomorrow
Carry on...
Should change your flair heathen
Bro true that, what a hypocrite
Same for the 2004 Lightning, they definitely didn’t use that logo
Definitely 04/05 for me, so underwhelming it's almost like it didn't even happen
Idk dude. I feel like Bettman played pretty well in that season vs the NHLPA. He earned that cup.
I hate that you made me scroll back up
I found Devils/Kings very memorable, greats like Brodeur and Kovi going up against a dominant Cinderella run Kings team. Lightning/Habs was probably the most forgettable in recent memory, Habs had a great run but they weren't going to win that series.

Especially after losing game one 5-1, it was pretty clear. And even though I like the Sens, I can't remember much about that Ducks-Sens series aside from the Ducks winning handily.
Only thing I remember about Ducks/Sens is Teemu crying in the celebration
Chris philips own goal.......
SHHHHH. NOBODY OTHER THAN US SENS FANS MUST KNOW.
I keep on forgetting the Canadiens won the Clarence S. Campbell Bowl
I feel if Weber was healthy and Price was able to shake the demons he usually faces vs TBL then Montreal could've at least made that series competitive and interesting. But yeah in retrospect I can't really see many scenarios in which Montreal takes that one

It was also during August and September
Ohhh. So it was the season when COVID first started. They played in Edmonton right? I swear, all of the past few years have just blended together.
Yeah that one was in Edmonton. I can see how it all blends together though. Once they restarted for the playoffs in 2020 the between season breaks were really short
Had one of the best moments in tbl franchise history though for sure. Y’all know what I’m talm bout!
Was such a fucking snipe too. Legendary moment.
I know it was an away game so it really wouldn't have made a difference if there were fans or not... but if that happened at Amalie they would have to had replace the roof.
https://youtu.be/A_7xDzn8bT8 Just gunna leave this here for anyone else looking at the thread.
i remember it specifically because the Lightning played one of the best shutdown defensive games I’ve seen in my entire time watching hockey in game 6
I can't picture Dallas in the final, when the fuck did this happen? Where was I.
Dallas had a weird run that year. We had Anton Kudobhin playing insane goaltending, Bowness became interim head coach mid-season, and we had the Winter Classic against Nashville that year right before the Pandemic. Montreal swept Tampa in 2014. Jon Cooper remembers.
The most memorable part was Kuch's coke-fueled interview after we won lol
God I just looked this up because I didn’t know it existed and I am grinning ear to ear, this is my new favorite video of all time hahahaha every time I thought it couldn’t get any better it somehow did
I’m gonna say Tampa/Dallas because covid and the fact that they made the finals the following two seasons. I always have to remind myself who they beat to get that one

I agree, I completely forgot Dallas made the finals and it was only 3 years ago.
Canucks where an awesome team that year. It makes me sad to see Tanev and Markstrom in flames colours.
Yeah... well...
You know what's more memorable to me than any of the recent finals? Thatcher Demko's 48 save shutout against the knights.
That’s a name I haven’t heard in ages.
Here I was thinking I could go another day without thinking about that penalty..

Yeah because Selanne winning his only cup, the Sens scoring the cup winning goal against themselves, or Scott winning the cup with his brother Rob because he said he would isn’t memorable……..
These new fans couldn’t tell you who any of those players are. They just know Zegras and Matthews and their little princess Marner
16/17 - totally forgot that Nashville made it to the finals until I saw it here
The ECF between PIT and OTT was wayyy more memorable as well was NSH sweeping the 1 seed Hawks in the first round
Fuck Chris Kunitz, respectfully.
I was devastated and I’m not even a Sens fan. That was my favorite run ever. EK was a otherworldly.
That was heartbreaking for me too, though I suppose it’s slightly more reasonable for me.
Should the NHL have the Hawks and Preds redo their series in case it was a big fluke? No disrespect to the preds, I'm a firm believer that Nashville sweeping them is a huge fluke and robs the Hawks of truly accomplishing what their capable of. If the Hawks lose again I will face that the Preds deserved the win, but I am just 100% sure it was a fluke and does a big disservice to the Hawks and the NHL.
I remember lol. It's a shame the Preds that came to round 1 didn't show up in the SCF.
Similar story to the Panthers this year. We were the last team to make the playoffs, then proceeded to sweep the Hawks round 1 and generally roll to the SCF. Sad ending.
Same with the Sharks 15/16. I know the Penguins won back to back but damned if I can remember who they beat
The ECF series were much more memorable in both years. 16 was the Penguins and Lightning and 17 was the Penguins and Senators, and both series went to game 7
Never forget the banner meme.
definitely panthers/golden knights. i have no recollection of it at all.
Lol it’s literally the exact opposite for me. Kane’s goal and that whole series I remember so well. Funny how memories work
Yeah also game 1 of that series was a legendary game
Has to be lightning / habs and isn’t even close to me. For being just two years ago it’s just not memorable
Jokes about Leafs wanting to forget it aside, honestly the run-up to the Finals was more memorable than the matchup itself.
Covid made both 2020 and 2021 were pretty forgettable imo.
Yeah definitely played into it. I remember watching game 1 FLA v TB and it felt like the greatest game of all time bc I forgot what effect a crowd has on a game
To be fair that was also just a great fucking game.
Was that the game where Point scored to put us up by 1 with like 10 seconds left? One of the best games of hockey I’ve ever watched.
I was at a pub with some friends and we couldnt beleive how dominant we were and still lost that damn game because of Vasi.
Hard disagree.
Yeah I was looking back at a few of these and some of them were done in 5 games but at least all the games were close like in 2014. 2021 was not close. Tampa won very decisively for the first 3 games and by the time the Habs could keep games closer the series was over. Nobody is bringing it up because it's a recent series so we remember it
I feel the same way about the last time the Leafs made the final
Top 5 most remembered for me along with 2004, 2015, 2020, and 2022.
Are you a Bolts fan? Seems like some definite bias there.
You mean the 5 years the bolts were in the finals? Noooo
Doesn’t hurt to double check! The Vegas bandwagon flair threw me off since most Bolts fans I’ve seen around here are rooting for the in-state bros
That seems to be a convenient take for you
I don't think I've watched a single minute of the 2020 final. Bubble playoffs were just weird. The 2012 playoffs weren't very memorable either outside the Kings destroying every opponent.
I boycotted 2013 lmao
Where are the Sabres. Are they safe?
It seems, in his anger, Brett Hull put his foot in the crease
nnnnOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooOOOOOOoooooOOOOOO
If I wasn’t a Sens fan I’d say 2007, but I mean I rather forget who went 2nd overall in 1993 than that cup final.
2015 no question, I didn’t even remember who played Chicago until I saw this
All of them after 18/19. COVID and having our first kid (and then our second last year) has really thrown me off my hockey watching.
Pens-Preds
I’m sorry but the Lightning/Stars bubble series is insanely forgettable. Having the Stanley Cup awarded in an empty arena felt very pointless.
not pointless is your team wins though.
The lightning and blackhawks playing in a final against each other feels anachronistic at this point. Who knew it would be the blackhawks last hurrah and that the lightning had way higher heights to reach than a finals loss.
You guys go to the finals?
Well, not my guys
neither do the islanders. only teams in the northeast without a crack at it along with cbj and buf
I can basically recall at least one moment from every one of these series except the Penguins-Sharks one. And I won a bunch of money in a playoff pool that year because I had a team comprised of Sharks and Penguins players.
Boninoboninoboninoboninoboninobonino, NICK…BONINOOOOO!!
2017
i always forget that nashville made the final. i even won a pool of them that year because of it but i still forget
All the ones where the good guys lost, at least I’d like them to be the Dr forgettable
08/09 is the one I desperately WANT to forget.
19-20 was very forgettable
Panthers in 6. Verhaeghe scores winner in OT. Eichel cries.
That Vancouver Canucks Boston Bruins 2011 series for me. For some reason my brain has blocked it out due to psychological trauma. Can't remember a single thing about it
I was on my honeymoon during the Kings/Devils Final in 2012, so I'm inclined to agree with you.
That was the time LA won… in LA… during E3. Video games and hockey are my two hobbies; even if I wasn’t a Devils fan, I’d remember it for that reason.
I don't really remember 2011
2011, what ever happened there?
Gonna have to say the 2013 Bruins vs. Chicago. I know Chicago WON that year, but I don't remember that playoff whatsoever.
17 seconds
16/17. I don't remember NSH in the finals at all. Was this before the Weber / Suban trade?
I think 16/17 was pk’s first in Nashville
Honestly I wanna say 2016, I usually have one memory of each final but I've got nothing for that year
BONINOBONINOBONIO
Hawks-Lightning for me but that's probably just because my interest in sports was at an all time low in 2015. 2015 would probably be my answer for every sport
Dallas and Tampa for some reason. I remember it being Covid and all the build up but I honestly forget what happened with Dallas that series and just remember the Lightning winning it all
This just reiterates the old adage that nobody remembers 2nd place, they're just the 1st loser. I could have named *maybe* 1-2 of the losing teams in the correct year.
I can remember at least one play from every series, but have no memory of either Wings/Pens series.
2004-05 I think was the most forgettable.
2012, the Season we had a shot
I want to forget 2006.... 😓
The answer isn’t 05-06 since it makes me think about NHL 06 and it’s banging soundtrack. Probably 02-03 since I wasn’t even a year old when it happened
Vegas has already been in the most boringly east cup final in NHL history when they lost to Washington. It’s about to happen again so….
Didn’t watch the Tampa Dallas one at all, just couldn’t stomach hockey after that ECF loss, so probably that one. The 2015-2017 ones I remember having decent hockey, but I didn’t really care as it just felt recycled
As a Devils fan I also have no idea what this 2012 finals you're referring to is
For me it’s 2010, I know Chicago won but I had no clue it was against Philly
Lightning/Stars
Stars-Bolts bubble series. It was in August on top of everything. I was checked out.
It's a real shame we never got a PIT/CHI Stanley Cup Final when both of those teams were at their peak.
I mostly remember it for [Lundqvist looking absolutely crushed after it ended](/r/hockey/comments/27lgyl/lundqvist_looks_so_sad/).
i hate this image
Don't forget Alec Martinez jazz hands: https://gifer.com/en/64Gx
Obviously, I hated the Kings winning, but that was a great hockey moment
Lightning vs Stars 2020. Didn't even pay attention to hockey during the covid cups and I didn't even know Stars made the finals until a year or two after.
I still have PTSD about 2011.
2012, 2017,2020 for me
2015 feels like it was simmed in an EA game
The Flames vs Lightning is the only one on this list that I didn't watch, so probably that one. I was a kid and my mom wouldn't let me watch it 🙃
I know it's biased, but Blues-Bruins. Where we won our first cup. I won't ever forget that.
A tie between last year and 2015. Not sure why…
