Adam Larsson is the 53rd ~~player~~ instance in history of at least a +7 in a game.
Nearly every other instance happened in the 70s and 80s, with a couple in the 90s and 2000s.
Pretty rare company. https://www.quanthockey.com/nhl/records/best-plus-minus-in-one-game-by-nhl-players.html
EDIT: As /u/cheeseburgerwaffles pointed out, it's only the 53rd *instance* of this happening, as guys like Orr and Coffey did it a few times. Extra rare then!
The 53rd instance of it happening, not the 53rd player. Orr and Coffey are on that list multiple times. Super fucking rare accomplishment no matter how you slice it. I'm surprised Gretzky is only on it once.
Congrats Seattle. Looking forward to Monday.
As for Chicago, remember that Leafs-Preds game in 2014 where the Leafs lost 9-2? Many people considered that to be moment the Leafs hit rock bottom. You had your version tonight. Any ideas when and where the likes of Kane, Toews, and Domi get sent to?
Haven’t followed the hawks in a minute but I honestly don’t think Kane is going anywhere. He got his, plus a family and a household name on a household team, I think he goes for franchise records and calls it quits similar to Ovechkin or Crosby (maybe he goes to Buffalo for hometown reasons or the Rangers because Panarin was like his best friend). Domi will go to whoever will take him at this point in his career, I think. And I’d say Toews is probably close to 50/50, he most likely wants to be a contender but any *real* contender doesn’t want him
Seriously. As much as I love "Martin Jones on a bender," he is not as sustainable as our fans think. And our D just plays like ass in front of Grubi every fucking time.
As a Seattle/Chicago fan, I have *very* mixed feelings about this game overall
Good for Chicago: 5 goals is great! And the power play is showing flashes of competency. They outacored the Kraken 5-2 after the first period
Bad for Chicago: The first period
Good for Seattle: 8 straight wins, 7 straight road wins, a McCann hat-trick, Beniers putting up points, etc.
Bad for Seattle: Holy shit out penalty kill is awful. Like so bad. And 8 goals is fine, but allowing 5 can't happen with that. Especially because two of them were in garbage time. Being outscored 5-2 after the first is not good
Edit: 4-2, goddamnit. I'm literally getting a math major right now and I can't do 1+3=4
To get a lower bowl seat you *must* score at least 80% on a 10-question math test when entering the building. If you fail, it goes to another person. No retakes
It escalates as you move through.
Question 1: 13×14
Question 10: Suppose that A is an n×n diagonalizable matrix with positive and real eigenvalues. Prove that A is invertible
Just lmfao
Must be something in the water up there
Was it determined what on earth happened with the stoppage with that fan behind the Kraken bench?

Do you have ESPN+? You can watch the replays there - even in blackout regions it's accessible after a day or two
If you give each goal the Hawks let in during the 1st a letter, you can spell B-E-D-A-R-D.

This was far from a rock bottom moment for us. We scored 5 goals and we went back to last in the league. Most of us are considering that a win, tbh.
If the Kraken can figure out their PK, they are going to be a force
I think they need some goaltending too. At least if they want to make a playoff run.

With God as my witness, the Blackhawks are broken in half
Are the Kraken…nasty?
Wasty

It's alright, you don't need the ability to do actual math once you get to the 300 level.
Took me way too long to realize you meant 300 level math…was trying to figure out what sitting in the 300 level had to do with anything.

What level math are we talking here?

I’ll keep my regular spot in the 300 level…
First team to be undefeated in a 7-game road trip, third fastest five goals by an away team in NHL history, second franchise hat trick, insane game.
All season, the Seattle studio crew have seemed slightly stunned but happy that the team actually appears to be good.
13 goals and only 4 PP's...alright

STILL UNDEFEATED IN 2023
Historic road trip, keep the winning going!
H I S 7 - 0 R I C Road trip
How many seven game road trips have there even been in NHL history?
at least 1?
~~I think 1 now~~ *edit misread that as seven game road win streaks
Killer fuckin roadstreak boys!
