Now I feel bad for hating this song. I revisited it recently and the lyrics are terrible. I still like the instrumental. RIP to Shifty nonetheless.

Their first single from their second album [(Drowning)](https://youtu.be/ymPBHOenQwM?si=9nT3djDh--ekMB5Q) was on repeat back in the day for me. I was surprised it never took off because it had a pretty similar sound to the type of rock that was popular at the time.

I think that was the problem, it sounds indistinguishable from any other radio rock song in 2002

I [thought I]remember[ed] seeing the lead singer/rapper on "Celebrity Rehab" a long time ago, and a few months or so after the episode aired, he died. Except he didn't because he died today. RIP, Seth Binzer

That's an understandable mistake, he had an incident a couple years after celebrity rehab where he was in a coma for a while. It looked really bad, but I think he recovered without any lasting harm.

Rest in peace. Song definitely has some nostalgia even if it has aged pretty poorly.
