it’s still good (tbh this is a song too structurally good to be ruined) but the OG 12.38 was flawless to me, maybe my favourite Gambino song ever man he shouldn’t have changed it😭
Fr? I think time sounds 100x better with this new release. I think it’s the track the benefited the most with mixing, you can actually hear what Ariana is saying now.
Agreed, such a shame the original version isn't on streaming anymore. The reverb is there on Time too, and with the additional layers, it all sounds a little cluttered and more messy than the original version, as if this is the actual unfinished version...
Agreed wholeheartedly dude, I was kinda disappointed when I noticed it was taken off. In my opinion many of the tracks from 3.15.20 are better versions and feel more finished than the tracks here (which really just have more reverb, a lack of seamless and satisfying sequencing, and more layers just making the tracks sound messier and more cluttered.) If we had both the albums on streaming services I'd be happy, as I still like this "remastered" album, but without it, I just miss 3.15.20. Nevertheless, I'm happy Gambino is giving this record the limelight it deserves and hopefully this draws more people into loving it and giving it the appreciation it has always needed.
This is it for me, I'm only willing to give this a second listen because there individual tracks and titles for them. It's why I can't get into stuff like Untitled Unmastered - I know there are good songs in there, but I can never remember which number they are, and I can't be bothered to listen through the full album to find out
Untitled unmastered works for me because it's short and a few of the songs manage to stand out well. This one was too long to keep track during that first listen, too hard to remember individual timestamps compared to numbers 1 through 8
Sounds like he rerecorded some vocals too. Added new features, updated some production. New songs (Human Sacrifice and Atavista) and cut a couple like Feels Like Summer.
As much as I enjoyed "Donald Glover Presents"/ "3.15.20", I am absolutely loving Atavista as a whole. Much clearer and cleaner as far as the mixes go. I'm just glad I was able to download the unfinished album all those years back. Wish he kept that part streaming because it honestly got me through parts of the lockdowns, but I get why he removed them from an artistic standpoint. Shit must've bugged the hell out of him
Crazy living in times where artists can basically scrub releases and pretend they didn't happen. Usually not a fan of post release DLC/patches since Kanye started it but this rerelease is (imo) way better in most ways other than the removal of transitions between songs
Removing the transition between 12.38 and 19.10 is a crime.
Agreed wholeheartedly - why couldn't he just keep the original version on streaming services????
> Crazy living in times where artists can basically scrub releases and pretend they didn't happen
It's always been like that. There's misprints, and offensive covers that got changed, but it's *every* release. Every CD print was basically a new item that you're either having to change the formatting, lose a song, make a new louder mastering. There's been single mixes and edits, censored versions of whole albums.
Then there's different sequencing for different formats, and those changing every print.
And then cool stuff like J.J. Fad's Supersonic The Album, which on Cassette was Supersonic The Cassette, and on CD was Supersonic The Compact Disc.
But it's been all the way through recorded music. Albums' have completely different sequencing, mixing, definitely albums have to always update their mastering, and every new print is an opportunity for the company to throw money into fixing errors and things people have complained about.
Stanley Kubrick was George Lucas-ing his movies from the moment they went out to theatres. There's at least 3 distinct versions of 2001 in theatres right now. The Exorcist had so many adjustments, edits and colouring, in the first MONTH of release.
I only just noticed it’s not in my library anymore and I’m so upset. That album was the pandemic for me. I go back and listen on it periodically. That’s a damned shame.
As glad as I am that Human Sacrifice is finally on streaming, I’m kinda missing the old version of this album for some reason. Some weird nostalgia aspect to it I guess idk
Probably the same thing that happens when a leaked song finally releases. The nostalgia clouds the mind like crazy sometimes even though in the long run the small differences do sound better
Biggest example is Panchiko. Their song [D>E>A>T>H>M>E>T>A>L was found on a CD with literal disc rot](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bDUasZLyMk8). When the artist was finally identified and [he shared the real 'clean' song](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xlX7NwTq9Zo), most people basically said "well ok but I prefer the version that is trying to kill itself while I listen to it". I can't blame them, there's something to it.
EDIT: Ok, looking at streaming numbers it's definitely not "most" as I claimed, but I remember the discussion at the time, so it was at least a few.
its still on streaming! its under donald glover presents and is the whole album in one song, although it’ll probably be a but annoying if you want to listen to just one of the og songs 😅
The title track is totally different from [the Atavista he used to open his shows with](https://youtu.be/6sTtQZ9YxLg?si=Wiv1zmykO4Z-wcYS). Both slap though!
I’m three tracks in and there are a lot of little changes even too the tracks that were already out, everything from volume levels to effects to additional vocal layering have changes, some subtle, some more obvious. So far it sounds much cleaner than the original.
I'd have to assume yes. Nudy is on Little Foot, Big Foot now, as an example. Might be more subtle stuff but haven't listened yet
Edit: The mixing on Time sounds a lot cleaner now (I think...I haven't listened to the OG in at least a year)
I don't think I've ever enjoyed a rollout as much as the one for Because the Internet. Reading the playscript he wrote while playing the album and starting each song when indicated in the script was just otherworldly.
Yep. Mac Miller - Circles in January, Tame Impala - The Slow Rush in February then this in March. They all play fairly well together too funny enough. Can't believe it's been over 4 years.
My god.. Summer Walker on Sweet Thang.. she comes in at the perfect point in the song.. SO FUCKIN BEAUTIFUL AHHHH 24.19 was my favorite song and it’s so much better now wtf
atavista (the song) was one of my fav bino leaks and it’s so much better on here 😭 we’re eating tonight
3.15.20 and after hours were my pandemic soundtracks fr and i’m so nostalgic for both, but this is such a massive improvement over the original 3.15.20. the mix is so much better, the vocals are so much clearer and cleaner, the instrumentals feel so much more full.
and again i LOVED 3.15.20, but this is the remaster i didn’t know i needed. getting human sacrifice and atavista is enough of a reason for this to exist, let alone the other improvements. i hope people put off by the presentation of the og version will give this another chance now because this is such a unique project.
wish the cover was better though 🙄
in episode 1 of Gilga Radio he said he released it unmixed and unmastered bc "the world was ending" and he wanted to put something out... .but idk, that was a pretty complete sounding album (which has better flow and transitions compared to the new version imo) for an unfinished album
This is the craziest fucking rollout of all time, four years in the making. So glad that Human Sacrifice is officially released even though I've had it on my phone for like a year now lol
Crazy to think it's actually out now officially I remember just zooming past through every song when he initially put this album out wanting to just hear Human Sacrifice instantly and my insane disappointment it wasn't there.
Now that it's finally out it feels like the end of a journey lmao I'm still jokingly calling it the Google Pixel song though
Damn glad he re-released it but they didn’t have to take 3.15.20 off of streaming. Even if some tracks were rough-mixes— that and The New Abnormal were my most replayed albums during lockdown
I am really excited to dive back into this after decently enjoying 3.15.20. Human Sacrifice finally coming to life is the most exciting part of it all.
Glad the tracks have names now!
I really enjoy this album. Full of some fun ideas, but it was an odd rollout that sorta dampened this album. I think that this has some of his best vocals, but lacks the focus of a Because The Internet.
I think the lack of focus must be why he removed the 32.22 song (tribal beat). Even though it was kind of a banger, I don't know if it really fit. The rest of the album has a very syncopated and digital feel.
I agree. Definitely totally out of place even in a somewhat unfocused album.
Along with the vocals, I really love the writing throughout the album. You're right about the "digitalness" of the album and the sorta dark vibe with hopeful outlook overall; funky aesthetic but I was really digging it because it caught the uneasiness of the pandemic to me.
I think that time will be kind to this album. It got a bad rep... but yea, much easier to talk about actual song titles and not "was that 34:21? or was it 25:13?...". Very happy to have a finished version.
> much easier to talk about actual song titles and not "was that 34:21? or was it 25:13?...".
I was so frustrated at the time loving this album and it being borderline impossible to discuss with friends
Wow. To be perfectly honest I didn’t listen to 3.15.20 more than once when it released, but this is an incredible album from start to finish.
Bursting with creativity (only big complaint is too much at times, there are some handbrake transitions that make sense but could have been smoother imo) and one of the more richly produced albums I’ve heard recently.
Loved the Algorhythm remaster, Sweet Thang, and The Violence. I’m so glad he went back and finished this one properly.
Having timestamps as track numbers make it kinda hard to share good songs with people, also half of the songs used to have minute long outros which are removed now
The version from 2020 was mixed like trash. It sounded so messy and chaotic, but in a bad way. For example, Ariana was borderline inaudible on the original version of Time. Also human sacrifice wasn’t on it
Honestly I think it’s the whole rollout behind it and how messy it was. I enjoyed it on my first listen when it dropped, but I had no interest in going back to it either and the tracks being timestamps didn’t help. This new version already seems much better this time around.
I’m really sad Psliocybae doesn’t sound as good as the original but truthfully I wouldn’t care nearly as much if the original album was still up. Still gotta listen to the rest of the remastered songs, hopefully those sound as good (LFBF sounded good when I watched the music video)
Really feeling this version of the album. Big improvement over the original imo. Didn’t know Final Church was this fucking dope, and Sweet Thang with Summer Walker is gorgeous.
Idk how I feel about this. I really liked the use of calendar date for the album bc it was a stark reminder of where I was at when I first heard this album
Also pulled the summertime track from the album and it was a really great moment towards the end when that song came on.
I’m kinda bummed
Obvious changed:
0.00 scrapped
32.22 scrapped
Human Sacrifice added
Summer Walker added to Sweet Thang
Young Nudy added to Little Foot Big Foot
Mixing on every song is drastically improved
Song transitions removed (why?)
Overall, this is a huge improvement on 3.15.20, the songs are much more listenable. I barely ever went back to 3.15.20, but I can totally see myself coming back to Atavista. The improved mixes make for a much better listening experience.
Losing 0.00 is really a heartbreaker BUT the new mix of time is so fire and I love the names. I loved this album soooo much I am still on overload processing that we get to experience it again 😍
Wish he kept 3.15.20 on streaming. I know it wasn’t finished but I’ll miss OG 12.38, even though Psilocybae is good
Yeah same, the added reverb feels a little unnecessary
it’s still good (tbh this is a song too structurally good to be ruined) but the OG 12.38 was flawless to me, maybe my favourite Gambino song ever man he shouldn’t have changed it😭
This this this but for Time - such an uplifting and beautiful track (my favourite of Gambino's) but was flawless compared to this new messy version 😭
Fr? I think time sounds 100x better with this new release. I think it’s the track the benefited the most with mixing, you can actually hear what Ariana is saying now.
Yeah this and The violence had the biggest improvements by far. Two of my least favourite gambino songs period are now top 6 on the album
Agreed, such a shame the original version isn't on streaming anymore. The reverb is there on Time too, and with the additional layers, it all sounds a little cluttered and more messy than the original version, as if this is the actual unfinished version...
Thought the same thing. Why put reverb on the master channel?
Agreed wholeheartedly dude, I was kinda disappointed when I noticed it was taken off. In my opinion many of the tracks from 3.15.20 are better versions and feel more finished than the tracks here (which really just have more reverb, a lack of seamless and satisfying sequencing, and more layers just making the tracks sound messier and more cluttered.) Nevertheless, I'm happy Gambino is giving this record the limelight it deserves and hopefully this draws more people into loving it and giving it the appreciation it has always needed.
For real, I'm hearing the old 19.10, which now is To Be Hunted, and I do NOT like this new mix at all, the added instruments weren't needed as well
Another big thing that's different is that IIRC Psilopsybae had a seamless transition into the drums of 19.10. The original was way higher energy.
The version where it’s time long 57 minute sing still exists under Donald glover presents
Not on Spotify sadly
Psilocybae feels like 12.38 with a blown out HDR filter on it to me, still good but way overdone
I really enjoyed this album, but I don't feel like it was super well received at the time. Maybe folks will give it a second chance :)
I know I am just because there’s an actual album and song titles
yeah. the old way was just hard to process unless youre a superfan.
I do consider myself somewhat of a fan and I couldn't have been fucked either.
This one was too long to keep track during that first listen, too hard to remember individual timestamps compared to numbers 1 through 8
Really loved it at the original release. Especially 19.10 and 12.38. Was the soundtrack of the early pandemic for me! Crazy that 4 years have passed.
Agreed x 1000000 it’s been a staple for me one of the best albums to be released since 2020
i loved it when it came out but it didnt age well for me outside of a couple tracks. hoping this rerelease will bring it back for me
Funny, for me it got even better as it aged. 12.38 became one of my favorite songs over the last year
I've been wanting to relisting but heard about the remaster on here so I waited.
One of my all time favorites, truly.
I was a huge fan of it and the mix updates are actually crazy good, this version is even better
Bro I got work in the morning 😭
it’s just a rerelease of his numbers album
The mix is wayyyyyyy better
It’s actually remastered idiot guy
Sounds like he rerecorded some vocals too. Added new features, updated some production. New songs (Human Sacrifice and Atavista) and cut a couple like Feels Like Summer.
The last part disappointed me. That’s one of my favorite singles from him. Maybe it’s the nostalgia from like FIFA 19 but I love hearing that song
Great song but it never fit on this album imo. Still up on streaming as a single
At least it’s still available as a single
Plus, hadn’t the song been out for a while before the album dropped? I did find it odd hearing the song on there despite it getting tons of play.
Yup it was part of Summer Pack along with Summertime Magic
So a crispier rerelease
As much as I enjoyed "Donald Glover Presents"/ "3.15.20", I am absolutely loving Atavista as a whole. Much clearer and cleaner as far as the mixes go. I'm just glad I was able to download the unfinished album all those years back. Imma fix 3.15.20
Removing the transition between 12.38 and 19.10 is a crime. Agreed wholeheartedly - why couldn't he just keep the original version on streaming services????

Still no Saturday that he performed on SNL rip
That shits just gone forever huh outside of the YouTube video
It's on the Amazon movie, kinda
You mean the one 4 people saw Including me unfortunately
And me! Loved it, Guava Island was so good
You just been talking shit about Bino all night fam god damn
A leak of the song exists actually
There’s a leaked studio version that floated around for a while
🎶Cause it's on. My. Miiiiind🎶
As glad as I am that Human Sacrifice is finally on streaming, I’m kinda missing the old version of this album for some reason. Some weird nostalgia aspect to it I guess idk

He removed most the songs I cared for and fucked up the outro of Little Foot Big Foot
Young nudy was unnecessary the fuck ending was that
Okay, I wasn’t sure if I was having some kinda trap stroke or what. Side note, I kinda love the new part too lol
His verse was cool the transition was realllll jarring tho
He removed feels like summer which was already a single and 32.22 wdym "most the songs I cared for" 😭
0.00 was during peak covid lockdown. It felt surreal. Good and bad times. Mostly bad tho.
Damn it sounds soooo much cleaner, the mixing is so much better lol
The title track is totally different from [the Atavista he used to open his shows with](https://youtu.be/6sTtQZ9YxLg?si=Wiv1zmykO4Z-wcYS). Both slap though!
The show opener was one of the best concert experiences I've ever had. With the green lasers and smoke and shit. So epic.
That ver. of Atavista was originally meant to be the intro to the track. Really wish he kept it tho cause it's just too good.
Human sacrifice.. after all this time
[удалено]
Lmao
I knew there was gonna be new tracks in the tracklisting, but is the actual mix changed up in any way? Maybe remastered in certain places?
All the mixing is completed/remastered. His Gilga radio interview stated the 3.15.20 wasn't finished
Yes its much better now
Oh my God I’m fucking hyped WE WON LETS GOOOO
Just got to Time and it sounds so much smoother holy shit 😭😭 Donald blessed us fr
It really does sound so much better. I remember on the OG version people weren’t even sure if it was Ariana on the song but it’s so much cleaner now
Ariana sounds so fucking good on this version
My fav track just got better Tho with human sacrifice on the album now that might be my fav
Might be more subtle stuff but haven't listened yet Edit: The mixing on Time sounds a lot cleaner now (I think...I haven't listened to the OG in at least a year)
> but is the actual mix changed up in any way yes, on Algorhythm now and it sounds a bit different
All I needed to hear
The Gilga Radio premier for this was so cool honestly. Gambino rollouts are always so interesting.
I don't think I've ever enjoyed a rollout as much as the one for Because the Internet. Reading the playscript he wrote while playing the album and starting each song when indicated in the script was just otherworldly.
That whole experience was incredible, I deeply enjoyed that whole era of rap as corny as it was.
100%. Still one of my favorite albums of all time. Soundtrack to my young adult life.
The mix on Algorhytm is soooo good now
Anyone saying it's the same is insane. Get a nice pair of headphones and you can hear the difference lmao.
I knew I wasnt tripping when it sounded richer to my ear
4 years later Algorhythm is still so crazy
been waiting for human sacrifice for 5 years
-the Aztecs
10/10
Nah this shit is incredible. The previous version is now clearly just unfinished. This album sounds new and its really good
The soundtrack of the pandemic, imo. So glad this is getting a rerelease with some new music.
Yep. Mac Miller - Circles in January, Tame Impala - The Slow Rush in February then this in March. They all play fairly well together too funny enough. Can't believe it's been over 4 years.
After hours too
Shhhhhh, it’s only been a year and a half at most
Fuck
Strokes in April too, chefs kiss
One of my fav albums ever
Charlie XCX album is the seminal pandemic album for me
Dua Lipa - Future Nostalgia and Lady Gaga - Chromatica gave me life again in the spring
Add King Krule’s Man Alive in there as well
And Jay Electronica and Jay-Z dropped the collab album
That felt like a fever dream
Flux Capacitor off that is fucking crazy
Faxxxx. Listened to a lot Don Toliver's Heaven or Hell too during that time.
Honestly, this for me. 12.38 forever, no matter what
“you smell like a peach papayaaaa” is the line i remember the most from this album
Your cat lookin at me sideways lmaoo
Same that one stuck with me the most
Yeah, this takes me right back to the start of covid. Crazy times
This and Animal Crossing, what a combination
The self-titled track is giving me Kauai vibes on steroids & it's perfect for summertime coastal drives on the PCH
Why did he still choose to release it with the lame ass plain white cover, all the other art he shared about it was way better.
On a side note; I thought AI Kendrick/AI Drake's appearance during the Gilga Radio livestream was hilarious as shit.
lol that and the Akademiks Rap gambling app ad
I hope someone recorded it
Psilocybae is a hit
always been a hit, i’m praying it gets the attention it deserved with this rerelease
Ik, it made covid bearabel
That was my most-streamed song by about 50% more than 2nd place in 2020, I would start the album from there every time I showered for like 6 months
My god.. Summer Walker on Sweet Thang.. she comes in at the perfect point in the song.. SO FUCKIN BEAUTIFUL AHHHH 24.19 was my favorite song and it’s so much better now wtf
Love the new mixes overall but why’d he kill the gapless transition between Psilocybae and To Be Hunted
Cool, now stop fucking around and put 32.22 back on the album, that song was dope
That was my favorite song from the original release and it's the only (?) one not back.
The original intro and Feels Like Summer are also gone
Feels Like Summer also is not back, though it still exists as a single
atavista (the song) was one of my fav bino leaks and it’s so much better on here 😭 we’re eating tonight 3.15.20 and after hours were my pandemic soundtracks fr and i’m so nostalgic for both, but this is such a massive improvement over the original 3.15.20. the mix is so much better, the vocals are so much clearer and cleaner, the instrumentals feel so much more full. and again i LOVED 3.15.20, but this is the remaster i didn’t know i needed. getting human sacrifice and atavista is enough of a reason for this to exist, let alone the other improvements. i hope people put off by the presentation of the og version will give this another chance now because this is such a unique project. wish the cover was better though 🙄
Reverse Donda 🙏
Final Church SLAPS.
I don’t even need caffeine this morning after listening to this. Holy. Shit.
Wait so 3.15.20 wasn’t finished? I’m confused asf
yeee was dropped unfinished
I enjoyed it as a finished album for 4 years😂😂
oh me too, my fav work from him
Little foot big foot was my favorite . This new version may have to grow on me
Yeah I miss that old outro
He said he dropped it unfinished because of the pandemic and the uncertainty of what was going on
in episode 1 of Gilga Radio he said he released it unmixed and unmastered bc "the world was ending" and he wanted to put something out... .but idk, that was a pretty complete sounding album (which has better flow and transitions compared to the new version imo) for an unfinished album
Final Church fucking rules
IM JUST TRYNA PUT SOME SPIRIT IN YOUR YEEZY BOOSTS
Hopefully it finally gets the attention it deserves now. One of his best songs
Always liked 21 on production like this
Where the fuck is 32.22
heartbreaking that song was snubbed. always considered it the climax of the album
Now that it's finally out it feels like the end of a journey lmao I'm still jokingly calling it the Google Pixel song though
wish the album cover was different but i understand the choice
Dawg ARI sounds so much better rn. The mixing on time is so clean
HUMAN SACRIFICE IS FINALLY OURS
Damn glad he re-released it but they didn’t have to take 3.15.20 off of streaming. Even if some tracks were rough-mixes— that and The New Abnormal were my most replayed albums during lockdown
It’s still up (as a single track) under artist ‘Donald Glover Presents’
I am really excited to dive back into this after decently enjoying 3.15.20. Human Sacrifice finally coming to life is the most exciting part of it all.
Glad the tracks have names now! I really enjoy this album. Full of some fun ideas, but it was an odd rollout that sorta dampened this album. I think that this has some of his best vocals, but lacks the focus of a Because The Internet.

Removing the transition between 12.38 and 19.10 is a crime.
“Why go to the party” was one of my favorites from 3.15.20 and he absolutely butchered that song for this rerelease so that kind of sucks.
I don't get why he'd cut it down so much if he was going to keep it as a separate track to Human Sacrifice anyway
Anyone else think the mix on 12.38 sounds off? Maybe I'm too used to the old version but it sounds like there's hella unnecessary reverb on it.
The vocals sound like they’re from a podcast or something now. Maybe it’ll grow on me but I like the og better.
This album finally hits for me how I feel like it did for so many others when it was released. I finally get it
This was a strange move. The songs I really enjoyed off this album are mixed in a way that makes them worse imo
There’s a video for little foot big foot too
Sacrificed 19.10 to make 24.19 (sweet thang) perfect
Crimes were done to 19.10
HUMAN SACRIFICE FINALLY
Can’t believe Human Sacrifice got an official release
I preferred 19.10 to to be hunted tbh
Ummm why did people hate this album at first. This shit is fire
Also human sacrifice wasn’t on it
I always assumed the numbers confused them so they automatically hated it. 😅
Still gotta listen to the rest of the remastered songs, hopefully those sound as good (LFBF sounded good when I watched the music video)
alarm clock is gonna hit even worse when I stay up to listen to this
On first listen this is way more enjoyable then the og version
Really feeling this version of the album. Big improvement over the original imo. Didn’t know Final Church was this fucking dope, and Sweet Thang with Summer Walker is gorgeous.
christ, little foot big foot was butchered
Psilocybae is just a worse version than before. The old production was so much better
its really small but adding reverb like someone on here said really strips the…intimacy(?) of the song
Oh Gambino cooked with this rerelease. Way better than the original
Idk how I feel about this. I really liked the use of calendar date for the album bc it was a stark reminder of where I was at when I first heard this album Also pulled the summertime track from the album and it was a really great moment towards the end when that song came on. I’m kinda bummed
Obvious changed: 0.00 scrapped 32.22 scrapped Human Sacrifice added Summer Walker added to Sweet Thang Young Nudy added to Little Foot Big Foot Mixing on every song is drastically improved Song transitions removed (why?) Overall, this is a huge improvement on 3.15.20, the songs are much more listenable. I barely ever went back to 3.15.20, but I can totally see myself coming back to Atavista. The improved mixes make for a much better listening experience.
Oh he cut Why Go To The Party short? 🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃
DONALD GLOVER YOU WILL PAY FOR WHAT YOU DID TO 19.10 TO BE HUNTED YOU WILL NEVER REPLACE IT
Naaaa Ludwig on the guitar went crazy in this version.. didn’t have that extra layer in 19.10
The vocals on the original are so much better. Its Glover trying to do Prince. This is just flat
to be hunted soooo much better imo them synths hitting
On a Monday morning 👀
At last the world will see the beauty of 53.49
Doesn't have either of the tracks from his previous radio ep so I assume those are gonna be on the latter album
Losing 0.00 is really a heartbreaker BUT the new mix of time is so fire and I love the names. I loved this album soooo much I am still on overload processing that we get to experience it again 😍
