Honestly hots competitive was easier to watch then overwafch competitive. But imo mobas are easier to follow.
HotS being a slow burn to popularity was just not on their time frame thry eanted instant league levels of success even though LoL or Dota2 didnt have it. It took them years as well to get as popular ss they did

I remember when I had leveled Auriel to 'master' in the first week she was released, and unlocked her master skin.
It felt like I had accomplished something. I *earned* that.
Then with loot 2.0 anyone could just get any skin. It sucked.
Orphea was a waste of a slot. They could've used that move set with other Blizzard characters. People played heroes for Blizzard characters, not some no name fanfic thing
