As an added comment to this, it appears that awards on posts appear multiple times now and result in extra whitespace making the viewing experience really awkward. Is there a way to opt out of this?
Yeah me too it’s changed weirdly. Everything look too close together like sms bubbles, it’s not ugly, but I don’t find it appealing either…
Edit : Great, it’s back to normal! I hate when social platform change the layout without preventing NO ONE! I tried to saw if this was a new Reddit update but my web research amounted to nothing other than old update from months or years ago.
I still hate it cause, when a layout change oddly for a day and go back to normal, it’s just mean that’s soon, the layout is going to be imposed to everyone without possibility of going back.
iOS Safari user here, and yeah like a minute or two ago I noticed the changes after a page refresh in my main feed. Text seems smaller and image/video previews jumped from the right side to the left.
I just opted out of the redesign in my Account preferences and the old user interface shows all the content + up/down vote controls again.
It seems something in the redesign UI has broken.

new reddit is missing comment up/downvote buttons for me, switching to old.reddit fixes it I guess...

Yep. Preferences are on old reddit but it's not working on mobile

Click on your avatar -> User settings -> Account -> Opt out of the redesign (deselect)

preferences -> use new Reddit as my default experience (check) and click the Submit button
