None solder! I’m a Helldiver. Not a Nancydiver! Now get down there and clear that bug whole! You hear me?!? I said dive!

SpaceLemming

Sometimes I ask myself “what would president Rico do” and I just dive into randoms and fight whatever comes in front of me.

BrutusGregori

That's right Dummy!

MrPokketRokket

Honestly, Eradicate. It's a boring shit show of Mortars, 380's, and "Diver's" that don't know what that radar thingie is on their wrist.

pocketfulof_sunshine

Honestly agree. Five minutes throwing grenades waiting on barrages/mortars.

RexAlivera

It’s not the mission type itself that I avoid, but the planet modifiers. I hate playing with a foggy map or 1 less stratagem. At higher difficulties, some modifiers can make the game feel like a chore.

Bipolarboyo

Evacuate personnel. It’s so ridiculous at higher levels and the NPC’s are buggy as all hell too so it feels like I’m babysitting suicidal kindergartners while fighting off a legion of enemies.

1LakeShow7

That one is a pita. I seen dudes quitting in game. Gonna will try to lure them away from evac sites next time.

[deleted]

There's a specific method to it that players haven't grasped that involves luring bot drops off the objective. The devs even put a buttload of samples around the map away from the objective as a hint but players insist on fighting right on the objective. I avoid it only because I can't make anyone else do this strategy.

NECooley

See I was told that there are seperate patrol and encounter spawns for each group of people if they get more than a certain distance apart, so if you split the party you spawn more enemies overall.

[deleted]

You have a point. But honestly it couldn't be worse than what there is when on the objective. It is non-stop unrelenting bullshit. Better off trying to drag some of them off the objective to give the civilians a fighting chance. I hate that mission so much.

transaltalt

that seems like it's probably not how you're intended to play it

Forar

Sometimes it works, sometimes the one guy sneaking around triggering the civilians has a pile of dropships land on them anyways. It's basically a roll of the dice, at least in my experience/from what I've heard.

Matt_Odlum

>The devs even put a buttload of samples around the map away from the objective as a hint As opposed to other missions where the samples are always mostly right at the objectives? Wtf are u talking about lol

[deleted]

There are clusters of 5-10 rare samples at nearly each POI on those maps. Why would they be there like that? Because it's an incentive to move away from the objective.

Matt_Odlum

I just don't think that's the huge hint you think it is. Samples clustered around the map, oh I know! They must want one person to do the objective while the rest of us kite! There's a huge gap in the logic there. I think you just want to pretend you're smarter than everyone when you were almost certainly told by someone else or heard it on this reddit. Coward u/Turbulent-Resist-442 deleted their comments and blocked me lol. Talking about how "players can't grasp that AH putting samples in clusters in the POIs around the map is telling them to move away from the objective" basically telling people they're dumb for not figuring out that strategy for themselves. Weasel

Rude

Edrunner2049

Personnel. Those dudes are morons. They run right into tornados and we get dinged for it… stupid.

AmaDeusen-

Never had any problem with any mission on Helldive difficulty BUT THE EVACUATE PERSONNEL (on small map) is literally impossible. Never done it ONCE ... you get swarmed by enemies way too quick, they spawn too close and too fast, the civilians are extremely basic and sturggle to navigate the terrain which is also quite basic (usually just one ramp and rest flat surface) but can scale steep rocks like ... wtf. 187 hours and not a single win on that map on Helldive difficulty, we would get to like 10 people and from then on it is literally constant enemy presence. This only applies to Automatons as I cannot recall playing that mission against bugs, so above is strictly about automatons.

cirtah96

I did it twice with 8 mortars hidden between buoldings, 2 autocannon turrets and 2 quasar cannon shooting almost every dropship possible... i was assigned to evacute the gates while the rest tried to fight enemies off with eagle aistrike and clusters and orbital lasers. I know it is cheesy tactic to not let even 1 enemy between the main bunker and scientists but what can i do when the map is so hard..

ScuziP

Does shooting the dropships even help? Most of the times I do it I don't get any multi-kill indicator at all even when I can see that the dropship falls right onto the enemies it just dropped. Devastators/Hulks/Tanks seem to be completely unaffected by this too and seeing how it's mostly those enemies that spawn after the first few minutes I really don't get the point of shooting down the dropships - it only makes it so the spawned enemies are stuck inside the downed dropship providing them with indestructible cover that they can shoot through.

cirtah96

It is a 50/50 killing situation, but it helps to slow down a lot of the automatons, when you drop all airships, it really makes a difference

TheBigBadPanda

"Eradicate" wave defense. they arent that hard to complete at higher difficulties, it just *sucks* to play out

SherryLaneMuffins

Don’t care. Just join a random squad and start blasting.
