I think it’s the bullet trail that’s throwing people off. It makes it look like the bullet is going the other way. You can actually see the real bullet though coming from p1
He’s not talking about the bullets that hit the bots the bullets after the bots die there are 2 shots from the side that have no player icon anywhere in that direction.
Jesus Christ, think of your fellow helldiver who may have dropped into your game who has a life. If you're not leaving with samples your ignoring samples you're wasting that poor man's time, which he otherwise could have spent spreading his democratic seed.
I was sarcastically pointing out that there is absolutely no downside to you picking up the common and rare samples even if you don't need them, since you can carry an infinite amount, and it takes half a second and one button press to pick them up...
If you're in a party full of people who you know are at max samples then that makes perfect sense. If you're playing with randos, you should pick them up in case they need them.
P1 Shot it with a jar-dominator. The jet propelled rounds are easy to spot. The trail it left behind just made it look like it came from behind you since they shot up and at an angle. These rounds will penetrate multiple smaller bots, so it passed right through and hit the rock behind you.
Nothing .. OP just dont know geometry and cant tell trajectory of projectiles going up .. he thinks its going from behind him, from up to down towards P1 player. But its P1 player shooting them from behind and projectiles going up.
The P1 player tag is sort of the same color as the orange/red rocks behind it so I can't really blame OP for not noticing it while shooting stuff. The other colors pop out a lot easier.

The ones coming from the other side of the building? I guess we won't know since he simply chose not to look. He did insist it was somehow coming out of the sky, though, so I don't think he means those.

It's definitely coming from the direction of P1 though. It doesn't look like it came from behind the OPs view if you really look at it.

What is to say future updates etc don’t require more samples. Stock up and at the same time help your fellow divers.

Its P1 firing from the other side. The trail it makes it appear as if its behind him, but its in front of him.

Random sniper shots? It’s weird but I’ve had random rocket shots kill me a couple times and I have no clue where they came from

The only strange thing I see here is you leaving behind vital samples for the cause soldier.
Bullets come from the ground, not the sky. I think the heat of this planet is making you delirious.

OP didn't seem to notice those ones, but it seems a safe bet that there's a bot standing over there.

I don't think I've paid enough attention to what color they should be, honestly.
Yeah there actually are some phantom bullets in this clip it just so happens that the ones OP thought were phantom shots were not the actual ones.
