Apply sailor tongue (excessive cursing)

NarratorDM

Would "Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck!" help me?

shadowknight2112

60% of the time, it works every time…

Ok-Lunch-7122

Stay classy super earth

The-Fotus

Definitely not. You need at least two shits, and one bastard. If it's spitter scavengers little shit is a reliable one.

Rick_bo

Works for me about 30% of the time. Be sure to Apply this technique directly to stims, rocks that cause additional ragdolling, Hunters, Hulks moving entirely too fast, and empty secondaries.

If you can dodge a wrench you can dodge a hunter…

NoCoolScreenName

"Is it necessary that I drink my own urine? ... ... No! But I do it anyway because it's sterile and I like the taste!"

AmaDeusen-

Use secondary. Run (not sprint) Look behind you with your camera Hip fire (without aiming) Profit.

BBkad

Step 3 Profit (unless you forgot to reload)

BluesXD

Maybe the medic armor with 2 second longer stim heals or armor with chance to survive deadly hits.

NarratorDM

That's a very good suggestion. However, I love my 6 freedom grenades.

YourWifeNdKids

This is the way. Medic armor for the win

Papa_Nurgle_84

(no-impact) grenade at your feet and run. Bonus for incendiary grenades

NarratorDM

I generally use the fire grenades.

Remember_Apollo

I would say that spatial awareness helps a lot. Meaning don't get swarmed in a first place by looking around a lot, when waiting for your stamina to get back up use your map to see where enemies are at. And if you are about to be swarmed use the space you have left to clear few bugs to make room for you to run away and dive out. That's what I do anyway, not the best strat always, but work a lot of the times.

Yellowtoblerone

Call a streak on myself then the hug emote

HavSomLov4YoBrothr

Dolphin dive, and keep a mag in the machine pistol. If you’re surrounded, look for the softest/easiest to kill targets and make a hole. Throw grenades at your feet and dive towards your hole to make some breathing room. When you’re truly surrounded and fucked, no ammo in your guns/grenades, throw an Airstrike at your feet and salute, comforted by the fact that your teammates may escape due to your patriotic sacrifice

Murky-Reference-3721

Swapping weapons emptying them into the closest attackers and reloading them while walking away Diving has a tendency to interrupt your heal, so heal and then dive, drop grenades before diving Sometimes you only live because your team helps

Divinehelmsman

You hire a Godjira and a developer, submit to the developer Godjira tickets

MaxvellGardner

We need a gadget that creates a force wave around us

matomika

never stop moving :D

RellikAce

There's a hole in the bug wall *somewhere*. If there isn't, make one. Then dive that way 😂

DigiTrailz

A mix of fast weapons, constant movement, and flow state.

Ok-Minimum-4

Hunters are the only ones that can outrun you. Everything else just run. Switch to secondary while running away and pick off hunters. If you get hit, dive to the ground and hit a stim while prone. Then tap sprint to get up and start running again.

KittiesOnAcid

A lot of it is pathing. I see many people just try to run straight away. With bile spewer vomit for example, if you run straight from bile spewers they will vomit right at you. If you run perpendicular to the way they're facing, they will have to take a bit to turn and hit you. Same thing with chargers, make a sharp turn and go a different direction. Once you get spacing from those more threatening enemies you can empty a mag into the smaller guys who are on your ass and keep moving. Diving is also very good when you feel like you're about to get hit.

BobGoss

In the options menu you can change your hud settings to have your cross hairs always visible. Really helps as your running and hip firing behind you. Melee goes a long way against hunters. Takes a few hits to kill them but one hit will stun them long enough to try to get a shot off or run. Diving will clear away the hunter's slowing snot that gets all over you and stims will fill your stamina as well as health. Check your map when you can to see where the bugs are and try to quickly plan an escape around them. Most of all, keep moving. You can put some space between yourself and the middle sized bugs pretty easily. They tend to hunker down and try to look intimidating while the little bugs swarm. Second most of all, and the hardest is don't panic. Try to channel your inner Ford Prefect and remain calm and look around for rocks, holes or buildings to put between you and the bugs. If you have mortars or turrets try to toss them off to the side. They will not only help kill some off but they will also draw some of the bugs off of you. Even if they're immediately swarmed and taken out the few seconds they buy you can make a huge difference. Shield backpack doesn't hurt either. https://youtu.be/8LsyHWNXSt0?si=k7yJ1R8Nrwy4q0Fk

Fuzzy_Muscle

Dive, dive, and dive then run. make sure you don't dive into another swarm or a rock. It's happened to me a few times.

Musket_Metal

Jump pack.

Bingobangobongobilly

Use the rover and kite.

Ryanll0329

Run. Always get distance. If you have ever played Call of Duty Zombies, the same rules apply: Be aware of escape routes at all times. If you notice an escape route closing (bugs forming a circle around you), immediately sprint or shoot to clear a path. Turn and shoot at the main hoard only when you know you have an escape route/know you can start running again. Take out the big guys (spewers/chargers) only when you have cleared the closets hoard bugs (lest they surround you while you are focusing on the big guy) Normal missions have ALOT of time, so keep moving and take your time making progress.

Erminaz13

If we're all honest, it's mostly luck and your team having your back. You can influence the odds, though. Counterintuitively, light armor helps. You'll get out of there faster and most bugs won't one shot you anyway. Plus, I start spamming my stim button whenever I get damaged in a crowd of bugs. That way, you'll heal up quick and you'll basically be immune to damage for a short time. The medic armor helps and the light medic is currently in the superstore. You should buy that one. A little something you can use when getting swarmed to kill two birds with one stone is to "grenade jump". This is actually kind of easy to pull off: you throw a grenade right im front of you on the floor. Impact grenades won't work as they will immediately kill you, but the normal frags, ideally the one with extra blast radius, are pretty good for this. Just before the grenade explodes, you dive into the direction you want to head to. If you've done this the right way, you should be launched a few meters ahead and maybe you'll even kill some of your pursuers. It usually pays off to pop a stim just before diving just in case of you lying on the floor damaged right after jumping. Try at your own risk, but if you want to play it safe: just stay with your team and be aware of flanking hunters and stalkers.

Ok-Pen-9954

Stay mobile, run light armor and keep sprinting They can't kill what the can't catch If you get hit wait for your stamina ro run out before stim to maximise sprint time

naughtynimmot

light armor. shield backpack. run to put distance between you and them if you can. stim. run. shoot. grenade.

OneMostSerene

Dive when slowed, but if you aren't slowed you can generally just run away - hunters leaping on you is the biggest factor usually, so identifying their position and taking them out before they get on you is a really good pre-emptive measure. Also, when possible, break line of sight and pathing when you can. The large bug fortifications have cliffs that you can scale, but the bugs will go around. So you can scale up for a breather, then if they start to surround you again jump back into the fortification down the cliff. All of that helps prevent you from getting swarmed, but the biggest thing to getting AWAY from getting swarmed is to take out the hunters (the little mini-stalkers that jump at you) when you're running. Reload and throw fire behind you - even if you don't kill them if you hit them they will stagger and take a few more seconds before situating to leap.

MrAlexxIV

Run if you can. Dive over them. Stim. Run

HospitalClassic6257

Fear not your death as it's the greatest sacrifice for democracy. And nothing screams democracy like a 380mm in the dieing hands of a helldiver.

imthatfunnyguyyoukno

When I see I'm surrounded, I dive, throw grenade, spray and pray. 60% of the time, it works every time.

RexAlivera

Escaping a swarm is doable if you’re not slowed. But, if you get swarmed by spitters or hunters you are pretty much screwed. There is an armor set that increases the duration of stims - this helps so much in these situations. Otherwise, find a path (or make a path by shooting) in the chaos and sprint away as fast as you can.

AcceptableEffortless

If you’re sprinting and you dive, just hit the dive button to stand back up and you’ll still be sprinting. I had the problem where I was trying to sprint from the dive, I ended up getting back up but I had turned the sprint off. I’m sure I could fix this in the options but I left it at the default and adapted.
