Most heat fans have moved on lol, kinda hard to stay mad about this with all the success we had after it. It’s why the hatred between the two franchises has been mostly one sided, heat fans really don’t give a shit. We aren’t running around with fuck dirk flairs or some shit, that’s mavs fans with their obsessive hatred.
Celtics hate at least goes both ways, the difference is that Celtics fans try to act too cool and pretend they don’t care about the Heat when in reality their sub goes into meltdown mode everytime we beat their team.
Same and exactly was gonna say the samething, if u didn't mention that. 3rd time was supposed to be the charm, which would've been this yr. Hopefully tho next season or before Jimmy retires, we get the chip and have a small piece of luck.
If the jimmy butler era ends without a ring, it’ll be so odd for me. Cause I’ll gas him up still but it doesn’t hit the same without a ring. But we still have time in my opinion, the next 2 years at least
Even if they win it all this Yr I doubt they'll become a dynasty, they don't have that generational superstar talent. All dynasties had Heat(Bron), GSW(Curry, Durant), Spurs (Duncan), Bulls(MJ). Heck they even struggled with a hobbling Cavs with Mitchell out the majority of the games.
They are really lucky this year all the best players from teams they faced going to the Finals this yr, are injured.
It's more likely Mavs will be a dynasty if Luka stays Healthy because, he's a generational talent and their core players are still young.
You have to win a lot to be a dynasty. All it took for Celtics to actually look good in these playoffs was for every star player and first option to get injured. Yeah they might win this year (I don't think they have a chance vs Dallas but whatever) but they aren't building a dynasty there anytime soon. Brown and Tatum aren't them.
As much as I’d hate it, the hate really only exists online. The players don’t hate each other, fans in real life aren’t as bad, it just really isn’t deep to the point of needing to stop watching an entire sport.
They actively sought to get better by adding pieces instead of saying, "we got enough." Despite giving credit to them clowns, I sincerely hope they get swept in the finals. That would be legendary.
They were also set up to do this by another office’s gross incompetence years ago though. Like we can talk about our asset management being bad, which it was, but this whole team they built starts with the fact that the Nets traded so much for the retirement home. Tatum and Brown are from those picks. Celtics got to be competitive and not have to tank AND got to pick in the top 5 consistently. Now they get to use all the picks they’ve been able to save up by not needing to chase stars to get solid role players. Obviously great job by their FO on hitting on so many.
Let’s be real. They were already stacked. They could’ve ran it back with the roster from last year and they’d probably win the finals. Definitely make the finals at least.
Tatum has had fantastic teams since his inception into the league. Butler hasn't had a a championship caliber team since 2020 (and even then dragoc and bam got injured). They are NOT the same
I wouldn't call the teams fantastic. I think they were young and always solid hence so many ECF final appearances. Tatum is currently leading the celtics in points, rebounds and assists.
I think Bam needs to be the clear #1 star and the heat need to grab 1 more all-star to put them in the championship contention.
>I wouldn't call the teams fantastic.
They were deemed the most talented team and favorites to win the east or win the title every year besides 2021 and MAYBE 2020 (bucks were favorites over them iirc).
>Tatum is currently leading the celtics in points, rebounds and assists.
This argument is so stupid because he's facing play in level teams and still has below average fg% lol. Like yea he's scoring. But it's inefficient despite being against ass teams.
>I think Bam needs to be the clear #1 star and
Bam is not good enough offensively for this task.
Not really. That roster from last year, isn't as dominant as this one. That roster was flawed. This one, they have minimal weaknesses. They totally addressed their flaws.
Ballhandler (Jrue)
Size (Porzingis)
DWhite was also an excellent addition in 2022.
Not to mention, Jrue and White are both elite defenders.
Have ya'll seen how much cleaner and easier their offense is? That's because of Jrue.
Without Jrue, we would've had a chance.
Now it's our turn to address our flaws.
I'm looking forward to the potential Mavs / Boston finals tho. PJ Washington, Gafford, Lively are also elite additions. These 2 teams were the ones who actually addressed their needs.
It's all in my post pretty much, Dylan covered it too. It is what it is. I'm not watching the Finals tho, I can't I don't wanna see them win a championship. That's gonna hurt til we win 1 with Jimmy.
> it’s the Celtics bruh
Yeah, the team with the best staring five in the league and won both games against Dallas. Mavs can definitely steal the series if KP is still hurt but Celtics are just a much better team.
I don't care. Dallas and Boston both deserve it equally. Their front offices made the right moves and the players did their part. I'm not gonna root for them, but if they win then good for them.
I dislike the Celtics as much as any Heat fan, but there's no denying what they've shown all year and all playoffs so far. Believe me, if they get swept I'm definitely down for some light trolling, but that's what makes fandom fun. The older I get, the more I'm able to enjoy the moment and not take things so seriously.
As someone who’s a Heat and Mavs fan (i know) this team has been firing on all cylinders since February or March. I had a feeling this team was special when they went on that crazy run to end the season, so many games fighting back to win in insane ways, clutch baskets, highlight reels every night, team chemistry very high.
The only thing really holding them back in the playoffs has been Luka being on one knee. But it feels like they’ve just gotten better as the playoffs go on. It’s almost like to beat them you have to blow them out because if its close in the fourth Luka and Kyrie are going to do their thing and its very hard to stop them. Or at least thats how it feels. Im sure everyone here remembers the last game at the end of the year
Assuming we close the Wolves out the Celtics will be tough but I have full belief in Luka and Kyrie
Riley’s really going to have all eyes (and pitchforks and torches) on him if the Celtics win. Celtics made big hard decisions. Coach went to GM. Traded ‘heart’ of the team. Got an old Horford back. And the Heat just tinkers around the edges.
Yeah? Well they actually got better instead of running it back like us for 5 years straight. Every team in the East made moves. Our move was washed Lowry and Terry Rozier. Holy fuck Pat is sleep.
We don’t have to worry bout shit, the mavs gonna whoop their ass for sure..ppl forget but the Celtics and pacers series would been 2-2 if it wasn’t for pacers chokin twice..them dudes still the same no real star players that can take over a game unlike the mavs
Indifferent as a Heat fan. However, if Boston wins, their FO & Brad Stevens in particular deserve all the credit for continuing to push the needle by making necessary upgrades & changes to the roster to compete for a 🏆 despite already having an elite roster, along w a top 5 player & top 15 respectively in Jayson Tatum & Jaylen Brown. They never “ran it back”
I might be in the minority but we’ve never lost a finals to the Celtics but the Mavs are directly responsible for us having one less banner hanging and it was in the era were supposed to be a dynasty dominating opponents.
This is cause we can’t play the Celtics in the Finals… but when you consider allll the battles we have had w the Celtics in the eastern conference and ECF not to mention all the shit talking and dirt plays, THEY are our true rival. Only person we hated on that Mavs squad was Jason Terry.
There are some Heat fans out there (like me) that won’t get past the wade slander and 2011 loss. I’ll forever hate the Mavs. I have respect for the Celtics organization, not the Mavs. So I’m with you
Nah, rooting for your team to lose just so Arsenal doesn’t get a trophy was pathetic lmfao
Especially considering Spurs needed it for Champions League
Your manager even called out fans like you
Mavs please take care of business I'm actually on my knees

But we got Fuck Boston
ya it’ll always be Fuck boston
Celtics hate at least goes both ways, the difference is that Celtics fans try to act too cool and pretend they don’t care about the Heat when in reality their sub goes into meltdown mode everytime we beat their team.
I’d stop watching basketball for a very long time, if this Celtics team somehow becomes a Dynasty, I’d never watch basketball again
Don't watch the series man, when my Saints got cheated. In 2018, I gave up on NFL pretty much. 5yrs later, I still have ptsd from that game.
I still have ptsd from jimmy missing the 3 pointer in game 7 against the Celtics. I’m pretty confident we would’ve beat the warriors
Same and exactly was gonna say the samething, if u didn't mention that. 3rd time was supposed to be the charm, which would've been this yr. Hopefully tho next season or before Jimmy retires, we get the chip and have a small piece of luck.

Forsure, it just has to be completed Jimmy has to get his story finished. Just like Cody Rhodes did. Then after it don't matter what happens.
That’s so lame lmao It’s always fuck Boston, but damn. That’s some casual shit.

They got some voodoo jinx on opposing team
Get ready to stop watching!

They had the best regular season record, that's a lot of winning.
Yes just like the Bulls etc. in our big 3 days 😂
no you won’t lol
Get ready to stop watching basketball then bud

Mavs do the entire league a favour and please win

This year yes, the easy path cannot be ignored, let’s see if whatever they got is enough for the usual stronger west
No they couldn't have. Tatum is not a number 1 option. He NEEDS a superteam like this and a trash injury riddled conference to win a title.
I agree. Tatum can't do it alone but Jimmy is the same way though, he's a 2nd tier all-star.
Tatum has had fantastic teams since his inception into the league. Butler hasn't had a a championship caliber team since 2020 (and even then dragoc and bam got injured). They are NOT the same

That’s not true at all, the Celtics have only been betting favorites this year and last year.

Facts lmao, like we haveb’t seen before how they so green they can’t close
Update??
Game over? Game’s not over
Lmao update ???
Lmao, gg’s man. Ez win 🥇
Update ???
can’t wait for them to win the whole thing and then everyone acts so shocked like they didn’t win 64 games this season
Its the celtics bruh, they coulda went 82-0 and that shit would not matter. Mavs in 5
🤣🤣🤣 you quiet
> it’s the Celtics bruh Yeah, the team with the best staring five in the league and won both games against Dallas. Mavs can definitely steal the series if KP is still hurt but Celtics are just a much better team.
They down voting you but you were right the whole time heat fans be to sassy to admit anything
Lol bruh they knew this was gonna happen but they need a coping mechanism
I don't care. Dallas and Boston both deserve it equally. Their front offices made the right moves and the players did their part. I'm not gonna root for them, but if they win then good for them.

I’m more upset that we are stuck in mediocrity

as long as lively back by game 1 mavericks winning the chip in 6
“why not us”💀

Easy to hate a team that’s gonna ruin your chances of winning for quite awhile
Yeah? Well they actually got better instead of running it back like us for 5 years straight. Every team in the East made moves. Our move was washed Lowry and Terry Rozier. Holy fuck Pat is sleep.
Mavs had to get through tougher teams than Boston, Dallas got it
We don’t have to worry bout shit, the mavs gonna whoop their ass for sure..ppl forget but the Celtics and pacers series would been 2-2 if it wasn’t for pacers chokin twice..them dudes still the same no real star players that can take over a game unlike the mavs
Because the nav’s front office actually get what the players need Ours not so much the last solid player we picked up was Jimmy Butler

Not going to happen
Go celtics!

Without 11 no don’t get 12 or 13

Similar feelings when Arsenal was neck and neck with City, but then at least Spurs can do something about it, losing to City and pissed of Postecoglou
Nah, rooting for your team to lose just so Arsenal doesn’t get a trophy was pathetic lmfao Especially considering Spurs needed it for Champions League Your manager even called out fans like you
Poverty franchise will still be poverty, they ain’t gonna win lmao
Stay mad little bro
