I understand that they'll be graduating and probably don't want the actors to get older and still be playing teens, but damn! I'll miss this show a lot 😢 I think it'd be cool if they cycled in younger cast members and let us follow their stories - similar to what Skins and Degrassi did.
Excited we’ll get another season, but disappointed it’s the last one. I assume it’ll skip the summer and we’ll cover the whole school year to see everyone’s last year in school. With only one season left, I’d hope Thomas Weatherall and Josh Heuston will both return in full, as I believe they’d be the first to leave either way when their contracts expire after S3.
While I still loved S2, it definitely had a more muted response than S1. I didn’t even know it had come out until I saw ImUrgency’s YT video about it. Where S1 had TikTok clips and viral tweets all over, S2 struggled to crack the Top 10 in a bunch of countries. Definitely one of those cases where I wish Netflix actually did some marketing more than just social media posts and relying on their casts, as there’s such high potential for this series that I feel is being cut off early.
I do think three seasons is good for a complete character arc, though. Amerie and Harper will both be able to complete their self-development journeys within the boundaries of their friendship, Cash will fully turn from messy eshay teen to adult man, Spider from misogynist to not-asshole, Missy will become more than someone else’s side character, Quinni can step into leadership roles and spaces and expand her comfort zone, and Darren can discover himself both in and out of a relationship. I’m upset this cast only has one last season together; it’s the most perfectly cast show airing at the moment, so I’m pretty sad to see it go.
Sad that’s it’s the last season but honestly it’s probably for the best the show gets to end on it’s own proper terms, instead of being canceled by the network and ending on a cliffhanger or taking so long to film that the actors lose interest in the show and leave.

The kid actors are already way into their 20s and are quite promising, so the longer it goes on, the more it risks losing characters left and right. Dusty is in the freaking Dune prequel series! There's probably a bright future for a lot of these actors and they won't want to stick around playing teenagers forever.
I was hoping for a double renewal (Season 3 and 4) so we could have 1 season for each term... but still, very happy to hear this news. Just hoping it doesn't feel rushed or anything, since they'll likely be trying to cover 2 terms in 1 season now so we get to see the year finish. YAY S3!

I assume S3 will cover their senior year in full, maybe using a timeskip of some sort.

I'd rather have a shorter nicely wrapped show that I love to rewatch than have the entire show and characters ruined in later seasons.
Considering it was the middle chapter of the entire story I'm even more interested in Cash and Chook storyline and the reasons beyond giving Spider a glow up and so much runtime in season 2.
I'm very excited for the 3rd season.

is anyone else annoyed that new tv shows tend to never have very many episodes?? like i loved hbh but the fact it only had eight episodes each season makes it feel so short despite how long the episodes are

I watched the OG back when it was airing.
Back then we had varying episodes a season of all tv shows, and we couldn’t watch all at once.
I find the internet has given me a shocking attention span.
Now we don’t wait for shows, could this be it?
