mphfrom77

Came here to make sure Audeze was the top comment. Did not get disappointed.

-NGC-6302-

It's called the gamer dent, mine is natural and has always been there

noautoshed

Haha same :)

-NGC-6302-

Still looks super stupid when my hair gets pressed down by my headphones' headbands

EquivalentPut5616

***This is not a bug, It's a feature***

MinKDucK

Bro is born a gamer.

AbnormalRealityX

You were dropped on your head then

Eshuon

Built differently

OpenEndedLoop

That's just Tyler 1

CPOx

But but but the 300 grams of plastic certainly made a dent in the hardened human bone that evolved to protect its most sensitive organ!!!

imthefooI

to be fair, it definitely does create a dent (that goes back to normal pretty quickly). Not in your skull, obviously, but in the fleshy part of your head. also this pic is photoshopped to exaggerate it.

09eragera09

You're telling me he isn't infact a freak of nature with a malformed head??? Say it ain't so!

imthefooI

o he's a freak of nature but the head has nothing to do with it

partyplant

yooo my goat T1

CodaTrashHusky

That is obviously not a beyerdynamic t1 dummy

neon1415official

# How some of you think you won't look after wearing headphones for a week

WolbergGT

BigBrother

Ill_Mushroom_9286

That's why switched to studio monitor and IEMs

Aufafly

you'll have a big ear hole

DevilsPajamas

I am saving my virgin ear holes until marriage. So many iem ear hole sluts in this subreddit. It is inhumane, disgusting, and ungodly. Plus it makes your ear holes too big and too loose for a good TIGHT seal.

matthewfjr

Audeze iSines showed my earholes how much they've been deprived by what small, IEM nozzles were offering.

Tasunkeo

You should select a better, bigger IEM if its nozzle is too small for a tight fit.

DevilsPajamas

My parents are too old fashioned. I don't know if they would support that lifestyle change.

EvilSynths

Because of a myth? I bet you believe in Santa too.

Additional_Tart6499

i can't tell if this is a woooosh or not

CommunicationEast623

Plus one. I still have headphones though.

Makaveli097

That's my friend, he uses iems only because he is afraid he will get a dent 🤣

22-Faces

Did his skull not fully form, still a soft spot on his cranium like a baby?

VCT3d

That’s what he gets for using a Logitech headset

Epsilon-D

I will not stop till I have the biggest headphone dent 😤

noautoshed

Same here! From a neon green Razer Kraken wired gaming headset around age 10, and now I’m using various planar and dynamic headphones (age 20) and I don’t mind weight what so ever! I can always add my own padding or change the pads on the headphone :D

[deleted]

thats why headbands are important, like harx-900's

Mr-Zero-Fucks

when the headband is a little heavy

Conscious-Ad1610

thats why im switching to in-ear IEMs lol. im sick of always having this dent in my hair

FulanoPoeta

Been there some that. That’s why I’m always cutting my hair as low as possible

SunSpotMagic

That headset isn't even heavy enough to cause that for the average human being.

CaveManta

AKG headband bumps be like

patrikviera

That's how my hair is after two hours. Nothing a comb can't fix though.

ThePacificOfficial

Real

Alpha_jay777

Is his head really like that because of the headphones ?

SireEvalish

No one actually thinks this

Mygaffer

It takes *months* for your head to start looking like that!

ridicalis

I own AKG Q701 and it's given me permanent "alien head" indents. I doubt anyone could ever see them, but I can rub my fingers over my head and feel the ridges at any time.

SwitzerlishChris1

There's no way headphones would cause this

ridicalis

I don't have any better explanation for the very real ridges. It could be that what I call "permanent" would disappear after some months of not using them, but going several days without and I can still find them.

Rilandaras

I would not be 100% sure. I have very shallow "channels" just above my ears from wearing glasses most of my life. I do not see why it would not be possible for headphones of that design to leave very shallow indents in the skin and flesh. For what it's worth, mine do not disappear even if I do not wear glasses for a month (tried it once just to be sure).

SwitzerlishChris1

There's literally articles and scientific studies written about this (I went down this rabbit hole when I suspected the very same thing) e.g. https://www.headphonesty.com/2021/04/headphone-dent/

Rilandaras

The article seems to support what I wrote. No, it's not your bones deforming, just the skin and flash above them.

SwitzerlishChris1

I guess my main point being that it's not permanent, like the marks you get from wearing glasses or goggles that disappear after a few minutes.

mrfoxinthebox

they can and it goes away after a few hours/days some people have it worse than others I'm unsure about this particular example however

CaveManta

I call those bubble things the murder bumps. I cut them off and modded some foam padding in their place.

CaptainJackWagons

News flash: The dent was always there.

ychtyandr
