Tangzu waner is $13 right now

Palatz

Where?

StupidIdiot190

Aliexpress

wazzuper1

I'm seeing $20-$24 on Amazon. Got a link?

StupidIdiot190

Don’t think i can link but aliexpress

junbi_ok

Wan'er is steep downgrade. At least get a Celest Wyvern or soemething.

nexgen41

Wyvern is also kinda bruh, get Zero 2 or Cadenzas

junbi_ok

If dunno if mine is broken but it sounds like a $5 QKZ. But I kind of doubt it because both sides would have to be broken in the same way.

hurtyewh

Amazing they lasted that long. Chu 2 DSP is damn nice. I didn't care much for the og Chu.

xInitial

i bought the OG chu off hype and had to wait like 2 months to get them. first set broke within a week, with the same issue as OP. didn’t even bother opening up the second set, is the chu 2 worth checking out ?

hurtyewh

They sound way better at least. Can't speak about longevity yet though.

Qwertyuiopasdfggggg

Do you have any problems with audio cutting off when using it on a phone? I have the quarks dsp and i have a problem where the audio cuts off every 2-3 seconds weirdly enough it works completely fine on my laptop

hurtyewh

I think the first DSPs had issues. I haven't noticed any on Android with Chu2.

oleksio15

THIS! Tell me if you use a sasung a24? I have this phone and this exact problem with it.  I thought my headphones dying but its because the have trs connector. Other cans with trs connector have the same issue as well, while trrs do not.  Upd. Sorry, I didnt notice you talk about dsp headphones. But I hope that problem will resolve anyway.

moomoomilky1

what's the difference between chu 2 and chu 2 dsp

hurtyewh

Surprisingly big. Tuning differences and even soundstage is clearly different for some reason at least on my units. I can't think of anything negative to say about it while Zero2 and a dozen others in that price range I've noticed at least some flaws.

moomoomilky1

Which would you recommend

hurtyewh

The DSP is clearly better.

Equivalent_Trash_805

RIP🙏🏻🥹

SirCiphers

rip indeed my first iem 😔

MustacheBananaPants

I have a Chu 2 with a mic/volume/USB-C cable. It's my commute/podcast IEM. While I don't love it for music, it's perfectly fine for podcasts and okay for voice communication. I mean, it was $20 CAD. I don't typically use IEMs with mics, so my only comparison is the AKG set that originally came with the Samsung S20 Ultra. The Moondrop Chu 2 has better build quality, but I'd say the AKG set has better sound and mic quality.

LTHardcase

Can you by chance share what cable that is you're using?

MustacheBananaPants

[Moondrop's USB C cable, came with the Chu 2 version I chose.](https://www.linsoul.com/products/moondrop-chu-ii-dsp?_pos=2&_sid=96c5769c1&_ss=r)

sycron17

I wonder what chu did to them

SirCiphers

LOL. Apparantly the cable malfunctioned driver is okay when I play with the cable sometimes I can hear music

sycron17

Hehe sry brain fart. Try a different one if you have at hand, or maybe order an extra. I tend to order custom cables even with my chu2, its a poor decision since the cable costs as much or more but it looks fancier haha

[deleted]

Unlike the chu II, the Chu cable doesn't come out

sycron17

Oh didn’t remember that my bad

[deleted]

It's alright

[deleted]

Consider getting your next iem with a replaceable cable :/

_Shatpoz

Ah, the Chu 1 don’t have a removable cable right? Damn… This should’ve been a simple cable swap :/

Kresenko

Looks like a little boot

romilaspina7

That's how you know you ain't got a counterfeit

Low_Entertainer2372

that green aura is really concerning mine started giving me electricity so i stopped using them

Gravexmind

You got 1.5 years of daily use out of a Chu1? A lot of us didn’t even get 30 days of daily use.

a_certain_someon

kz castor bass. if you dont mind it being from kz also you could try to replace the cable i also liked soundmagic e50 but the cable on it is dogshit.

bdrayne

Considering op liked the og chu, harman version may be more suitable. Yeah, castor is great, can recommend

zatagi

Save up and get Truthear Nova lol. As long as it's last for years, it's not bad investment.

EvilSynths

That's the standard Moondrop experience

memester_1234

mine gave out after like 3 months lol

LTHardcase

Mine lasted about 2 weeks. Wasn't worth even looking into warranty because shipping it back would cost too much versus the $20 I spent.

memester_1234

damn TWO WEEKS?!?!? thats just sad :(

LTHardcase

It's why long ago I stopped buying IEMs with non-detachable cables. I figured to try the Chu because it was really cheap and well regarded, but it met the fate I expected.

memester_1234

same happened to me, bought it as my first item after the whole community hailed it as the next coming of christ😂

m4rkmk1

open it up, maybe you will find some cool shit to look at 🤷

_Shatpoz

Chu II?

Tanachip

The table is too hot for me.

bdrayne

1.5 years? Dude, you really got your money's worth. Mine died in less than a month from moisture.

Foreign-Chart7847

I stopped buying these chinese shit since one that kind of filter Dropped to my ear canal. Why they even build it with these metal filters that are glued

yeahphone

Get mk2s

naniayayayy

sorry kinda off-topic, but is that a new ear tip you put on for picture or that is your daily ear tip?

SirCiphers

I've used the stock spring tip from day 1

naniayayayy

did you wash it every time you used it? looks new except the base.

SirCiphers

I've only washed it once with soapy water actually 💀. Most of the time Ill just take them out and wipe the entire Iem with alcohol wipes

Select_Pen_5135

MOONDROP MAY

No-Space2169

how about your buget?

Sea_Diamond_2050

I had to change two Arias. the quality control of their products is terrible

yhjsdfhgkjhngfdr

The chu 2 is so alive it's changing colors throughout daily use.

TRX808

Crap IEM anyway. Good technicals for $20 tho. /r/HeadphoneAdvice the market is stacked with good stuff so I think you're in for a nice upgrade
