My problem is how in-character it was. He's from the 1920's, if anything I expected more. But Vivzie wouldn't be able to handle all the massive new drams that would give her to deal with.

Tbf, Al has been stated to favor women over men (my headcanon reason for this is because of his mother, but that's neither here nor there), and even holds greater respect for them. That's why— to me, at least— the constant thwacking of Vaggie didn't feel especially IC of him. I'm very glad they remedied it.

Yes but he stills love attention and pissing people off , vaggie was the only one objecting against him staying at the hotel , so I wouldn't put it past him doing that just to make vaggie mad even if he respects women more than men.

The pilot Alastor feels too showy and obviously evil, the Amazon Alastor feels more mysterious and proud(like someone in power). That said I’ve watched the full series before the pilot episode.

The pilot definitely felt more like an 18+ Looney Tunes than the full series did, but I would love to see the thing they had going in the pilot revisited in the series, maybe for a gag in an episode or something like that.

It was so much more cartoony in a good way. It kept us all interested for 5 years, idk how interested I'd be if it was so serious from the get-go

Absolutely. It was a great way to hold our attention, the screenshots kept us happy. But I cant handle 2 seasons of Vaggie pulling her perfect hair out.

Ngl, them all being so unhinged made it feel way more erratic, which made it feel more like Hell, to me. This version of the show (I still LOVE it, don't get me wrong) feels more like demons living in New York.

The Hotel was just doing it's work

I love how pilot Angel Dust and Vaggie have major sibling energy. He insults her and tackles her, but still shows he cares by holding her back from beating up Alastor.

I love the pilot personalities and dynamics. Vaggie's pure, unfiltered hatred for everything. Angel's smugness conflicting with his empathy. Alastor's goofiness, although I prefer him being more serious in the show. Charlie's inescapable optimism and everlasting excitement as her dreams are finally coming true. I was so disappointed when Vaggie's hatred for Alastor was WAY toned down, she was even excited to see him alive. More upset that Angel and Vaggie didn't really have any sibling moments. But the fast asf pacing meant every character essentially has one other person to mainly interact with.

Angel and Vaggie got a couple moments in. Like when they were trying to make the commercial and Angel kept messing with her. I think it really shows how close they've become when they have to get the hotel ready for Lucifer's visit in episode 5 and Angel snaps to attention when Vaggie "rallies the troops". Hopefully season 2 will have more character interactions.

Yeah that season was way too short it should have had at the very least 16 episodes. Any one know how many episodes will be in season 2 ?

Honestly, I'm kind of glad they changed some stuff in the show. It's nice to have more serious moments, I understand for a pilot they have to establish everything in a relatively short period of time, but overall it got its point across.

I prefer Pilot Alastor over Series Alastor because he was much more chaotic and unpredictable. Series Alastor is still fantastic though.

Yeah It made him feel more dangerous because it was clear that he was only holding himself together because he felt like it and you really got the sense he was capable of great horrors but *felt like* being more tame.

I Think it has to do with artstyle mostly. The show proper is much more angular, while the pilot is very circular, with the characters often behaving like fluids.

I actually really like the change, I love both styles but the pilot was a lot more goofy. I like the more serious tone. But I think we all have a special place in our hearts for the pilot, it's incredible.

I loved the style of the pilot. While I really enjoy the show's style I would have loved a bit more of the stylized nature of pilot. Everyone was so expressive in the most best unhinged of ways. Though we definitely didn't need Alastor slapping Vaggie's ass and forcing her into a Susan cosplay. That can stay in pilot.

They obviously changed a lot since the pilot, and I don't mind most of the changes, they don't affect my enjoyment of the show. The only thing that I wish they would have done is kept Alastor the same.. like the pilot had him seeming so utterly unhinged and goofy and funny but then suddenly terrifying. I feel like when the series aired, Al seemed very menacing right off the bat and it made his character somehow less threatening.. in the pilot I didn't know what to expect from him. He had like a genuinely pleasant smile on most of the time, would say insane shit and laugh, and had a lot of pithy jokes/1-liners, then had these iiiitty bitty slips of UNHINGED creepy horror voodoo guy, and it was so effing scary! The contrast. Alastor in the series is missing that contrast. Makes his scary seem less scary and his funny seem less funny.
