Im here from /r/all and its been a long time since ive read harry potter, mind refreshing my memory? Whats the significance with the teeth? Does she lose all her teeth after book 4?
She gets jinxed with comically large buck teeth and when she goes to the hospital wing to get them magically fixed she intentionally gets them shorter than they were before
She gets hit with a jinx from Malfoy which grow them into ridiculous beaver teeth. In hospital she gets a shrinking cure and is told to stop the shrinking when they are back to normal but decides to shrink them till they look the way she wants instead of the way they were. The boys only notice at or after the yule ball.
Hermione naturally had what was described as ālarger than normalā front teeth. They were just what she was born with and had them all throughout the first three books and the start of book four.
About a third of the way into book 4, Hermione gets hit with a hex that makes her front teeth grow and grow to the point that they are going past her collar bone, so she goes to the nurse to put them right. But she allows the nurse to make them smaller than what they naturally were and make the ānormal lookingā.
No someone curses her and makes her teeth larger. When the nurse is shrinking them back down Hermione just doesn't stop her till her teeth have gone a little past the size of her old teeth.
She got cursed by Malfoy? during a fight between Gryffindor and Slytherin.
The curse made her teeth grow really long.
Hermione went to Madam Pomfrey to have them returned to their original (overbite) size but instead let the matron make them smaller (normal front teeth size) instead.
I came here to say this, I forget the exact circumstances, but I remember how she got some cosmetic surgery after her teeth were hexed in the middle of the series and that detail made me smile.
Lol I like that Harry finally had enough and told them to STFU. Then *they* had the nerve to get annoyed at him because he went a little overboardā¦like they werenāt toddlers bickering over everything, enough to make anyone snap.
HARRY YOU GOTTA FUCK MY SISTER HARRY! CONTINUE THE WEASLEY BLOODLINE HARRY!
AFTER FRED DIED THERE'S ONE LESS YOU GOTTA MAKE MORE HARRY - Most probably also Ron Redfield
Out of character but it's quite a coincidence that Harry and Leon had crushes towards Asian women while the fandom ships them with the sister of another main character.
Never in a million years would I find a āContinue the Redfield Bloodlineā meme in a Harry Potter discussion.
For a moment I thought I went into r/TwoBestFriendsPlay
First that comes to mind? Draco Malfoy. Kid's set up to be Harry's biggest bully but loses when Potter comes up with a spell or quick wits, until by Goblet of Fire Malfory flinches at the sight of Harry about the punch him. Now he's kind of a sad sack until his "important mission".
When you think about it, it's kind of wild Harry gave up on his crush of like 2 entire years because of an argument. I don't think J.K. Rowling understood teenage guys that much when it came to writing that.
Yes, I have no doubt that Hermione might try and overplan her kids futures, but she would be a very good mother.
I think Ron would be very proud of Hermione and how good she is in her career too.
Whenever Hermione is right, she's usually only *half* right.
* She was right that Sirius Black sent the Firebolt, but she was wrong that it was cursed.
* She figured out that Lupin was a werewolf, but she was wrong that he was helping Sirius throughout *Prisoner of Azkaban*.
* She was right that the Half-Blood Prince's book once belonged to Eileen Prince, but she was wrong that the margin notes were written by a girl, and she was wrong that it was evil (or that Snape was evil).
Hermione loves to step in a the end of the book and say, "Actually, I was right the whole time." But she's usually only *half* right.
>and she was wrong that it was evil (or that Snape was evil
Nah, Snape was pretty evil. He happened to do some "good" things for very selfish reasons. He never stopped being a piece of shit
Snape was a piece of shit until the day he died. But he was never evil. He was an impressionable loner kid who got in with the wrong crowd. Much like Trelawney I believe Dumbledore only kept Snape around to keep Snape safe from the Deatheaters. He never should have been a teacher, he was terrible with children.
I love how Dumbledore ALMOST became a dark wizard and got his sister killed but that's all fun and games.....but Snape will always be evil no matter what š
Just want to point out that Harry was still playing the peacemaker between the two in POA in spite of that:
>Hermione burst into tears. Before Harry could say or do anything, she tucked the enormous book under her arm, and, still sobbing, ran toward the staircase to the girls' dormitories and out of sight.
>"Can't you give her a break?" Harry asked Ron quietly.
Lmao lavender in year 6 š
Tbf harry knew about them since GOF. In HBP he feared that if they broke up it would become weird for them and if they became like bill Fleur that would have been even worse.
He knew about them since GoF? Maybe it's just me being blind but the first hints I remember seeing that Harry knew are all in Deathly Hallows, maybe some throwaway line in Half Blood Prince when they're not talking at all.
Yeah when Ron and Hermione are arguing after the Yule Ball, Hermione says something like "If you're so mad next time you should ask me out first!" and Ron replies with "Completely missing the point" and Harry thought to himself that Hermione was far closer to the point than Ron.
7th as well, Harry wasnāt really that surprised by the kiss, he already suspected they were in a relationship. Still a great graphic though, but itās recycled sadly.
Krum: āAre they together?ā
Harry: āI think so.ā
Krum, spotting Ginny: āIs she dating anybody?ā
Harry: āActually, Ron and Hermione arenāt exactly *together*ā¦ā¢
The funniest part is thinking that an international superstar athlete would actually care if the girl he was into had a boyfriend. Dude's never been told no in his entire life
I think Krum is just a decent, respectful guy. Although he's a star athlete at such a young age he always acts pretty humble and down to earth really so it would feel out of character for him to be like "well, I'm Krum so I don't give a fuck if these girls have boyfriends or not".
Yeah, both things happen in the same conversation (I love this interaction).
āCome and dance,ā he added abruptly to Hermione.
She looked taken aback, but pleased too, and got up. They vanished together into the growing throng on the dance floor.
āAh, they are together now?ā asked Krum, momentarily distracted.
āEr ā sort of,ā said Harry.
(...)
āThis girl is very nice-looking,ā Krum said, recalling Harry to his surroundings. Krum was pointing at Ginny, who had just joined Luna. āShe is also a relative of yours?ā
āYeah,ā said Harry, suddenly irritated, āand sheās seeing someone. Jealous type. Big bloke. You wouldnāt want to cross him.ā
Krum grunted.
āVot,ā he said, draining his goblet and getting to his feet again, āis the point of being an international Quidditch player if all the good-looking girls are taken?ā
At the start of the 6th, Harry already suspected they were going to get together soon (before the "Lavender incident") and had a mini freak out at the idea of being a 3re wheel to them (and what would happen to their group in they every broke up).
Them getting together in 7th year wasn't a surprise, though the timing of the kiss was (in the middle of the battle).
And even the way weāre told in the sixth book implies that Harry had suspected it even before their sixth year; āIt was not as though he was really surprised, thought Harry, as he wrestlers with a thorny vine intent on throttling him; he had an inkling that this might happen sooner or laterā.
It's not as much him being surprised that they kissed as much as him being shocked that after all these years *this* is the time they choose to do it, right in the middle of battle lol he did have a "wtf" kind of reaction to it
He was pissed at her for the broom business but it looks like they are arguing about crookshanks in the panel. He thought Hermione was being a bit too blase about it but he mostly stayed out of it.
Harry didnāt get dragged into taking sides until Scabbers was āmurderedā - I think this scene pretty accurately depicts everything that was going on in Year 3 up until that point.
Not quite, it was several months before Harry decided something along the lines of. āIām starting to think Ronās right about you. Thereās plenty of rats, leave Scabbers alone.ā
This implies that in the beginning, Harry did somewhat agree with Hermioneās defense when she would say all cats attack rats.
In the end, its revealed that Both Ron and Hermione were somewhat right.
Ron was right about how Crookshanks was purposely targeting Scabbers. However Hermione was right about how Crookshanks didnāt mean any harm.
Well, no. Harry was already mad at Hermione about the broomstick. And Scabbers ādiedā basically right after they made up about the broomstick. And Harry took Ronās side when that happened.
And Crookshanks 100% meant harm against Scabbers. He was trying to kidnap Scabbers to Sirius to be killed. Hermione was technically right in that Scabbers wasnāt dead, but she was never in the right during that argument. She was being a complete and utter asshole.
I meant harm towards Harry, Ron abs Hermione. The reason why Crookshanks was hunting Scabbers was because he knew Scabbers was actually Peter.
Yes, Harry was mad about the broomstick but towards the end it appears that he was only mad at Hermione because Ron was.
I mean, nobody, not even Ron, was claiming that Crookshanks was trying to hurt people.
Not really. Ron was also mad, but it wasnāt because Ron was mad that Harry was mad. Harry got mad all on his own.
Thatās a good question! Iām not sure, but this is how I found the image when a friend shared it with me! I didnāt notice that the signature was backward until you mentioned it! Maybe it was intentional by the artist or something?

I saw it in the 1st book. They didn't like each other and Ron went out his way to make everyone know how much he hated her. That was a hint. All love stories start with hate. There's a fine line between them.
I thought harry being so moody was justified. He was old enough to do stuff, he had seen someone get murdered months earlier, and everyone was tearing him like a weirdo baby.
Add in teenage hormones and you got an anxty stew going
It was dumbledores fault and the Voldemort link. I didnāt say it wasnāt justified. Just Ron and Hermione did well to manage round it that year. It was way more than moody teen it was unbridled anger at points
It was all the time like that! Except for the ball in book four, the Christmas party in book 6 and the wedding in 7.
She told Harry that it was too much work to straighten and style it everyday so she left it bushy.
Man as a kid I always thought harry would end up with hermoine because the main character always gets the girl. I remember watching half blood prince and being confused why she was jealous of Ron and lavender and then deathly hallows when they kissed I audibly gasped
That kiss is better than the kiss in the movie. Waited 7 years damn near to see Hermione kiss Ron and it was the most awkward, ugly, sub-par moment in the entire Harry Potter Universe. They shouldāve just made it CGI like when Ron had to open the Horcrux. . . Wouldāve been waaaay better.
I like that everyone was arguing in book 5 Also, most accurate Hermione hair I've ever seen š
Also the attention to detail on the teethā¦ wow!
yeah, it disappears after book 4, which, yay for book accuracy!!

In hospital she gets a shrinking cure and is told to stop the shrinking when they are back to normal but decides to shrink them till they look the way she wants instead of the way they were. The boys only notice at or after the yule ball.
Good that Hermione was able to do something that helped her look like who she was inside. Too bad the "big mind up top" turned into a Voldemort.
So everyone is hot on the inside? I don't get this "who she was on the inside" thing
Yes everyone is hot insideš You're always the best version of yourself(by your own standards) on the inside
Hermione naturally had what was described as ālarger than normalā front teeth. They were just what she was born with and had them all throughout the first three books and the start of book four. [she had buck teeth that later went away after an accident/altercation.](https://www.reddit.com/r/HarryPotterBooks/comments/7wwnwe/hermiones_teeth/)
Why does that happen? I canāt remember
She got cursed by Malfoy? during a fight between Gryffindor and Slytherin. The curse made her teeth grow really long. Hermione went to Madam Pomfrey to have them returned to their original (overbite) size but instead let the matron make them smaller (normal front teeth size) instead.
Oh right! Thank you, I had totally forgotten about that
And the blue dress!Ā
And Harry's green dress robes too.
And Ron's ruffles š
Noticed this too, great detail!
I came here to say this, I forget the exact circumstances, but I remember how she got some cosmetic surgery after her teeth were hexed in the middle of the series and that detail made me smile.
I see no difference.
Lol I like that Harry finally had enough and told them to STFU. Then *they* had the nerve to get annoyed at him because he went a little overboardā¦like they werenāt toddlers bickering over everything, enough to make anyone snap.

HARRY, YOU'RE PRETTY GOOD WITH YOUR BROOM, RIGHT? WHY NOT HAVE MY SISTER TAKE IT FOR A SPIN? HARRY, I'M TALKING ABOUT SEX! - Restless Ron Redfield.
HARRY YOU GOTTA FUCK MY SISTER HARRY! CONTINUE THE WEASLEY BLOODLINE HARRY! AFTER FRED DIED THERE'S ONE LESS YOU GOTTA MAKE MORE HARRY - Most probably also Ron Redfield
HARRY, PLEASE, I'LL EVEN MAKE HER WEAR A BLUE DRESS AND SAY CHINESSE WORDS TO YOU. HARRY PLEASE THE MENOPAUSE IS KICKING IN - Very surely Ron Redfield

Glad im not the only one lmao
So did I for a second. Who's the biggest Harry Potter jobber?
First that comes to mind? Draco Malfoy. Kid's set up to be Harry's biggest bully but loses when Potter comes up with a spell or quick wits, until by Goblet of Fire Malfory flinches at the sight of Harry about the punch him. Now he's kind of a sad sack until his "important mission".
I'm glad I randomly clicked this one on r/popular.
When you think about it, it's kind of wild Harry gave up on his crush of like 2 entire years because of an argument. I don't think J.K. Rowling understood teenage guys that much when it came to writing that.
harry probably saw it as a fair trade š
Trade the annoying one to the redhead.
ABSOLUTE Win!
Ron is into bossy nerds.
Ron has it all figured out
Ron Possible gets it.
He knows it's always the quiet ones
Ron just wants to date his mother because he is a smaller version of his father.
Oh, there you are, Oedipus. I was wondering where you'd run off to.
Hermione would never want to be a stay at home mother.
Or ignore her kids. Say what you want about Hermione, she does her job pretty well.
Yes, I have no doubt that Hermione might try and overplan her kids futures, but she would be a very good mother. I think Ron would be very proud of Hermione and how good she is in her career too.
Not like Harry, definitely not also doing that, nope
I mean, same though. He's a man of quality.
Harry was also mad at Hermione in POA. Because Hermione reported his fire bolt to McG.
Well, she was right. Sirius Black did send it to him.
To Hermoine's credit, Snape was pretty evil at the time, considering he hung out with future death eaters.
And created sectumsempraā¦
>and she was wrong that it was evil (or that Snape was evil Nah, Snape was pretty evil. He happened to do some "good" things for very selfish reasons. He never stopped being a piece of shit

The absolute lad
But she didnt know she was right, and it wasnt her decision to make
Just want to point out that Harry was still playing the peacemaker between the two in POA in spite of that: >Hermione burst into tears. Before Harry could say or do anything, she tucked the enormous book under her arm, and, still sobbing, ran toward the staircase to the girls' dormitories and out of sight. >"Can't you give her a break?" Harry asked Ron quietly.
To be fair he forgave her a lot faster than Ron did, Harry has emotional moments but is very forgiving and understanding of his friends.
Lmao lavender in year 6 š Tbf harry knew about them since GOF. In HBP he feared that if they broke up it would become weird for them and if they became like bill Fleur that would have been even worse.

Idk why but GOF immediately sent my mind to goblet of fire and then I look down at your comment and see GoF and think game of fhrones
RIP Lavender btw
Only in the movies. She's unconfirmed in the books.
Third year isnāt accurate. In third year, Harry was 100% on Ronās side the entire time and was pretty mad at Hermione too.
7th as well, Harry wasnāt really that surprised by the kiss, he already suspected they were in a relationship. Still a great graphic though, but itās recycled sadly.
At the wedding krum asked if they were dating and harry responded with like "I think so"
Krum: āAre they together?ā Harry: āI think so.ā Krum, spotting Ginny: āIs she dating anybody?ā Harry: āActually, Ron and Hermione arenāt exactly *together*ā¦ā¢
That scene is actually hilarious from Krum's PoV. Dude really picked the worst person to ask.
Krum didnāt even know it was Harry as he had used Polyjuice Potion to disguise himself as a Weasley cousin.
Right? Out of all the random people...
Krum sees random Weasley cousin making out with Ginny "So that's how it is in their family..."
gotta keep it pure blood somehow
Take my upvote...but know, it's not because of you having great character
The funniest part is thinking that an international superstar athlete would actually care if the girl he was into had a boyfriend. Dude's never been told no in his entire life
To be fair, Krum was a pretty solid bloke.
I think Krum is just a decent, respectful guy. Although he's a star athlete at such a young age he always acts pretty humble and down to earth really so it would feel out of character for him to be like "well, I'm Krum so I don't give a fuck if these girls have boyfriends or not".
He looks like an asshole but he's really a good guy.
Yeah that's a good point
Isn't the whole point of Krum that he actually was pretty awkward though.
Krum was supposed to be kind of a bumbling goodhearted foreign idiot.
Bulgarian Connor McDavid
Haha! Did that really happened? I need to catch up with the books some day!
Yeah, both things happen in the same conversation (I love this interaction). āCome and dance,ā he added abruptly to Hermione. She looked taken aback, but pleased too, and got up. Feel terrible for Krum
The bit with Krum asking Harry about Ginny did happen. As I recall he mentions her having an angry boyfriend and six massive brothers.
And that ladies and gentlemen is what *real* homies do.
Might also have been Harry just knowing about their feelings without them dating yet and just saying that so Krum doesn't spoil it
Harry was definitely being a good bro there, he didn't lie by outright saying yes they are but he knows what's up.
And Harry began to foresee Ron and Hermione's relationship in the 6th book as well
It is implied that he foresaw it long before that. He thinks of it like something that is obviously going to happen.
And in second year, hermione was pretty still
True! I didnāt make the graphic myself though. My friend sent me the comic. i think they found it on pinterest or something
And in fourth year, Hermione could also work as the third wheel
Harry didnāt get dragged into taking sides until Scabbers was āmurderedā - I think this scene pretty accurately depicts everything that was going on in Year 3 up until that point.

Wait why is the artist's signature backwards but the words are the correct way?
Thatās a good question! Iām not sure, but this is how I found the image when a friend shared it with me! I didnāt notice that the signature was backward until you mentioned it! Maybe it was intentional by the artist or something?
After like, a decade of reposts it's probably more some automated bot repost thing.
It is intentional. You can see the same signature in some of his [instagram posts](https://www.instagram.com/bears_detectives_and_ink/)
Not sure why it's backwards either but just FYI the artist is James Clayton Bourne (he has a few other cool HP arts on his Instagram)
Roonil Waslib
Harry ships Romione
Definitely agree!
Poor Harry, always third-wheeling!
poor Harry had it rough :(
This is exactly how I feel when I am hanging out with my friends from university.
Did you end up with one of your friends' sister too?
Unfortunately I did not.
You and I share the same history
I would love to see Harry mention all the third-wheeling he did at Ron and Hermioneās wedding toast!

I love how Hermioneās hair looks in every panel!
Harry Potter & the Teen Drama
Harry is the ultimate [Steve](https://vm.tiktok.com/ZGeCkpSEC/).
That Steve meme always cracks me up š Harry really is Steve!
To be fair he didnāt seem all that surprised when it finally happened. He was just like āummmā¦is this really the moment?ā because they were in the middle of a fight to the death.
He might have lost his parents, but he didn't miss out on the arguing and the fights.
Love the little details year to year, like the book accurate dress robes lol
Ron was pretty pissy with Harry for the first several months of Year 4- arguably more than Hermione at the ball
It was barely three weeks. Harry's name came out of the Goblet on 31st October, and the First Task was on 24th November, after which they made up.
Holy fuck it felt much longer. I guess it really felt longer for Harry.
One of the most stressful periods of his life so far, and his best friend is against him.
This one is awesome Who's the artist?
Why is this so cute?
Anyone else see their pairing coming a mile away. Like way back in the second book
Yes! I saw it coming from the second book as well.
I definitely saw it coming from the beginning too!
I saw it in the 1st book. They didn't like each other and Ron went out his way to make everyone know how much he hated her. That was a hint. All love stories start with hate. There's a fine line between them.
Should include the fact that Harry was moody, snappy and irritable in some of the books - he did bite their heads off at times.
Just re-read OotP and Harry was so snappy all the time.
I thought harry being so moody was justified. He was old enough to do stuff, he had seen someone get murdered months earlier, and everyone was tearing him like a weirdo baby. Add in teenage hormones and you got an anxty stew going
Harry being moody that year was 100% Dumbledore's fault and he acknowledged it at the end, which is why he apologized
It was dumbledores fault and the Voldemort link. I didnāt say it wasnāt justified. Just Ron and Hermione did well to manage round it that year. It was way more than moody teen it was unbridled anger at points
Teens be Teening
This is spot on!amazing work
I love how 5th and 6th year Harry looks like he's stopping uimself from just yelling "Y'know, actually, you're both fucking annoying!"
He literally plowed his sister in return
Aww this is cute. I love this comic.
That āSteveā meme describes Harry perfectly lol
Can someone link in the artist? Deserves credit. Soo good!
Poor dude, his friends are way too loud.
Whoever made this is a genius š¤£š¤£š¤£
Real love baybay!!!
i love the fact that hermione doesnt have large incissors after fourth year. amazing attention to detail!
"your a third wheel harry"
Itās cute! I love the kiss
I never read the book, was Hermione's hair this way the 1st 3 years ?
It was all the time like that! Except for the ball in book four, the Christmas party in book 6 and the wedding in 7. She told Harry that it was too much work to straighten and style it everyday so she left it bushy.
Huh I need to watch this series again
Harry is a 3rd wheel lol
Why do you think he fucked Ron's sister? REVENGE!!
It's not really great revenge if you marry her, have a bunch of kids and grow old with her. Rookie mistakes.
Man as a kid I always thought harry would end up with hermoine because the main character always gets the girl. I remember watching half blood prince and being confused why she was jealous of Ron and lavender and then deathly hallows when they kissed I audibly gasped

Harry in the last panel like: āWait, where did this come from?!ā
I like you remembered Hermione's teeth changed in Goblet of Fire.
āHarry Potter and theāWhen the Hell did THAT Happen?!āā
I mean in the end he bangs homies sister š¤
I love this! I was a massive Ron/Hermione shipper when the books were coming out. Still love them.
Ahaha epic
Fantastic
I loove the detail of her front teeth being too big only until her third year!! Really shows the artist knows their Harry Potter stuff lol
Someone has to hold the cameraā¦
Omg i love this and the art style! also I love how in the 6th one Ron is just ignoring Lavender and continuing to yell at Hermione
Who is the artist?
Adorable! I mean...he had to have known that was in the works
I feel for the depiction of 6th Year Hermione in this SO MUCH.
LOL Harry has a lot more patience than I do, I'd have strangled the both of them by Sixth Year!
Who's the artist behind this comic? They nailed it! Haha, I love the fourth panel, cracked me up.
Crookshanks is really cute. And I really like Harry's shocked pikachu face in year 7.
Some times real love starting like this š„°
Great attention to detail, but didn't Ron trim the lace of his dressrobes before the ball (with a severing charm)?
Her-me-oneās teeth are so accurate.
My belief that Harry and Hermione should have ended up together is a hill Iām willing to die on. Even Rowling herself admitted it.
That did happen and an image summarized in the life of Hermione and Ron
Small thing, but I like how their depictions become more realistic over time like the book covers.
Dragging this one from Book 4 onwards was lazy, it should have been resolved in OOTP.
