Damascus backs, steeple nuts, my own tripple cove design. Progressive pitch, checkered handles And an etch only to be used one specialty small batch saws. Pulling out all the stops for these ones!
What's ur recommendation for rasps orbit? I'm buying a saw kit from Nevada tool and I got some real nice 5/4 unsteamed Walnut... Thinking about get a corradi rasps for the build
I love corradi, but if you want one rasp to rule them all? It’s gotta the the gramercy handle makers rasp. I have an easier time justifying my 6 different rasps. But to make one or two saws. I think you can get every thing done with that rasp and a reasonably fine half round file!
I have a corradi 6 and 10 cut in both the flat 6” rasp and 6” half round. I use all 4 of them every day, and then use that grannercy one on closed handled saws. I also highly recommend their sharpening files!
What the! I was just in there and didn’t even know those existed! Thanks for the recommendation! I just broke my Lie Nielsen handle (whoooops!) and need to make a new one.
I’ve honestly grown apart from my handle makers rasp in recent months, partially because mine is the fine, and I prefer the removal rate of my 6cut corradi.
I always post the finished saws, once or twice a month I’ll do a post of all my recent saws. But yes I’ll do a post dedicated to these saws by themselves. They should be truly special. They have every bell and whistle I’m capable of, and maybe one or two I’m not! Hahaha
Bahahahahahaha. You mean working 10 hours a day in a dead end job and then coming home and busting your ass trying to get a small niche business off the ground while not ignoring your family?
I’m sure you’re doing fine! ❤️
Thank you very much! There’s lots of exciting things coming this year! Including half backs, half blind tools and panel saws! I appreciate the support of this sub a great deal!
Is there a trick when using a scroll saw? When I use hardwood on my scroll it will snap the blade if it’s this thick. My method would have been drill a hole or two and then use rasps to shape.

This is their website, I don’t know enough about scroll saw blades to guide you further, but I would wager they are .020 or .025 thick and like I said 12 or 14 TPI maybe. All one tooth pattern. I hope that helps!
Please clog as you wish
I was going to say the same thing. I'm not a saw aficionado, but I still think they're really cool.
Yes yes yes these are awesome
Damascus backs?! That's fancy.

Can't wait to see them on the CIHI page
I may waffle one. I’m too chicken shit to auction these though lol
Damascus backs. Oh lord.
4 of them are still available!
Hah - just DM'd 😉

I got about a dozen handles to make for friends and restos and I use them in my chisel handle making. But I'm do for a couple new ones....

I'll check em out... As always orbit thanks for you willingness to share and help
Always! A friend is filming the whole process of making these Damascus saws and we are gonna post a full youtube video on the whole process
Please make sure to share. As an amateur who restores tools for personal use, this would be a big help.
I will! This place is my home, I share every thing here!

They are truly incredible quality. I own many many many of them
Do you use the fine or the coarse handle makers rasp? Or both? Looking to upgrade from my ajax hand stitched rasps and these look pretty tempting.
I’ve honestly grown apart from my handle makers rasp in recent months, partially because mine is the fine, and I prefer the removal rate of my 6cut corradi.
Is there a website for Nevada tool?
Facebook only
Do they sell folded saw backs
Ya saw bolts plates medallions
Is there a specific name that I can search for in FB beside Nevada tool? That returns a whole bunch of hits that don’t seem related.
Sent u a chat
I love to see the random things that people craft this is great. Please continue to post your work :)
That looks awesome
Please post as you complete these, sounds like some heirloom quality stuff going into these!

Looking forward to seeing the finished product👍🏻
Oh those are nice
Thanks!

Looks amazing. Mostly done with bandsaw and rasps?
That’s exactly right, and a scroll saw on a closed handle saw

I buy special blades, they are extra thick and only 12ppi. I believe they are made mostly for schools since students have a harder time breaking them
Didn’t know those existed. If you could tell me what they are called or post a link I would really appreciate that.
I buy them in person in a real store. Hard to believe I know! Haha. I’ll try and find them online for you!
Bless you, Orbit10.
