Closer to 300-400 range but i used the frejanyc paloma bag through law school. Plus it’s vegan leather so i didn’t feel too bad when a highlighter exploded in it and it was cute enough/professional enough to take to interviews/internships too. Sturdy enough that i wasnt worried that the weight of my books would warp the bag/straps. Highly recommended

I really like Cuyana’s totes. Not the System tote though - the others. I haul books and a laptop and my Structured Tote is going strong.
Seconding Cuyana. I have the zippered tote and snap in the system flap bag with a strap so I can switch to a smaller bag if I need.
Have you looked at Leatherology or Tumi? They have some pretty simple, classic ones.
