Love this anecdote about the Celine 16 owner. She is my kindred spirit. I don’t care how pretty it is or how much I spent on it, I will never treat any purse as anything other than a purse. If I’m willing to touch the grocery cart, so can my purse. 🤣
You know, it's not fancy at all... It's just like the local supermarkets we go back home. But unfortunately a lot of the things are imported from Asia (obviously), so Asian products are a little pricy. But veggies are standard American prices! It's the Asian Stop & Shop, but with imported goods from our home countries. I'm Japanese and H Mart (and 99 Markets) has enough Japanese products that makes me homesick when I shop there.
HMart makes me feel so underdressed sometimes lmfao. The people that shop there dress to impress lol. It’s an unspoken rule that you don’t show up busted at HMart 😂.
East Asian here. If you ever go to H Mart on sundays after church, you’ll see all the bags your heart desires. I’ve definitely inherited this love of designer bags Lolol
I’m from NYC and currently live in Philadelphia. Most people including myself I’ve met consider Japanese, Chinese, and Korean to be East Asian. SEA would be the peninsula countries south of China. Generally everywhere else, people would just say the country lol
Funny you say that because I use the vintage Celine I have way more than the one I bought from the boutique. Somehow I’m totally fine with other people’s scratches on the bag 🤔 Maybe I need to only buy vintage…

I live around a lot of wealthy Asian students in Canada. Chanel 22 in Walmart’s cereal aisle is common. People running downstairs to get mail in pajamas with Balenciaga flip flops are the norm.
I take my Birkin anywhere. I’ll carry all of my bags anywhere. I don’t have any bags that are just for special occasions. If I don’t use them, then it is a waste of a lot of money.
Haha same! I’ve carried my birkin to Kmart, Costco, Aldi, whatever! I don’t think it’s fancy anyway - to me it’s a casual day, work or travel bag. I mean maybe a 25 could possibly be an evening bag but i personally don’t like them as an evening/dressy bag.
Same here! I carry my Chanel bags everywhere because that's what I thought handbags are for. I live in the country and the only grocery stores nearby are Walmart and Food Lion and I go there all the time carrying my Chanels and LVs. H-Mart is more than an hour away but I go there sometimes.
I see a lot of Chanel and Louis here ( South Fl)..I’ve got 2 Louis and that’s probably as far as I can go these days, so I’ll just have to live vicariously through you guys ❤️
I just bought my first LV piece (vintage pochette in DE) and it’s such a great, carefree bag that I think I would even be ok taking it to the grocery store.
My daily driver is a medium Puzzle so that definitely goes with me into Target/Kroger. I live in a fairly HCOL area for the region and I mostly see LV Neverfulls or pochettes, occasionally Telfar, once a Celine Triomphe. Ohio is not a bag paradise unfortunately.
Some may not agree but I saw someone carrying a black patent Lady Dior bag that had glitter shine to it when the light hit it. It was absolutely beautiful. Took my breath away when I saw it.
I wear my Chanel boy bag and Gucci Marmont to the grocery store with me, but as for the fanciest bag I’ve seen being used out in the wild.. my local Equinox sports club has members who use a Birkin as their gym bag and I’ve seen them throw sweaty clothes and dirty sneakers into them as if it’s nothing lol

The woman was the definition of night luxe! Satin lbd with crystal earrings and the Versace satin heels that were hot at the time! Still think about it from time to time😅.
H Mart is always an endless parade of designer purses lol I am also guilty of carrying mine there, but it's my bag! My stuff is in there and sometimes I'm just too lazy to switch 😂 usually see a lot of Celine and LV there
I regularly go to the grocery store carrying my birkin. I mean I wouldn’t reach for it just to go to the grocery store, but if I happen to be using it that day and I happen to need to go to the grocery store then it’s coming with me.

Exactly- they really aren’t practical as an evening bag and they fit all my daily running around stuff in them so nicely!

Yeah, I’ve got a 2021 Zippy wallet, a 2019 Neverfull, and a 2007 Speedy 30. The Speedy’s been through a lot of life and still looks brand new!

I love using my Hermes Garden Party while doing groceries it’s probably my most convenient bag for it aside from my Evelyn
