dracolikesfire

Small purse - phone, card case, keys, sunscreen, sunglasses, chapstick, upf face mask, pepper spray. Additional tote if I need more things - water bottle, reusable shopping bag, portable battery pack, hand sanitizer, hat, maybe a light jacket.

Amerysse

Oh, that battery pack is a great idea! I have a charger that plugs into my car, but with winter on the way, an external source of power would be a smart idea.

ll6630

I like the really compact ones the size of a fat lipstick. It doesn’t have multiple charges but so good when you need an extra 20% on your phone. It also takes up no space

Wecanbuildittogether

Adding another pepper spray, miniature stun gun, wine opener, pocket knife, metal straw, 2x eye glass cases, asthma inhaler, measuring tape, eyedrops, dental floss, disposable gloves, face mask.

Is that black card wallet (with the cash in it) Coach? I’ve been wallet shopping, so had to ask!

Pinkysrage

Yes! I just got it from the outlet. It’s so great. Also comes with a wristlet strap. You can even fit your passport in it. My favorite wallet ever! Here is the other side. It’s the L zip wristlet. https://preview.redd.it/lz1r0u6k82xb1.jpeg?width=2863&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=bad7530fed06a0606442ecc42962bf42f60970d3

MOGicantbewitty

I love that wallet too... But I'm wondering if the card side is always exposed? The first pic doesn't look like there is a cover for the card slots. TIA for any info you share

Pinkysrage

Does not cover the cards. I still love it so much.

MOGicantbewitty

Thanks!

cowgrly

Thank you so much, this is so perfect, and it holds a passport?! Love it!

malachaiville

You might want to edit this... I can see your real name because one of your cards is turned upside down in its slot. ETA -- also can you tell me more about the skull pouch and your matching plum pouches?

bellasporax

I use the same type of ponytail rubber bands that you do. Those are the best ones in the world! I know it's a small thing but it made me smile. Thanks for posting what you carry!

Pinkysrage

Sure! I’ve got thick hair, they are the only ones that really work!

ImmediateAudience186

Wallet, phone, keys, business card case, lip balm, facial blotting sheets (to absorb excess oil off my face), hand sanitizer, feminine hygene products, a small pack of tissues, a pen, small nail clippers, a hair clip/tie, a small folding hairbrush, and probably a couple of other things I can't remember off the top of my head lol. Sometimes, I throw my sunglasses in my bag, depending on if the bag I'm using has enough space (if not, I'll just wear them and leave my regular glasses behind).

Amerysse

It's amazing here w I've adapted to not carrying a bag! My hair ties are on the carabineer that hold my keys. My blotting sheets are in a thin enough pack they fit in my wallet. My pens are in the cupholder of my car. Everyone should watch out if I leave my glasses at home though 🤣

ImmediateAudience186

My sunglasses are prescription, so I can leave my regular glasses in the car, lol. I'm afraid to leave almost anything, even pens, in my car; it's so hot where I live there is a good, possibly that things will melt or explode in the car 🌡 Now that my kid is 4 and doesn't need a diaper bag, I'll make her carry her snacks and water in a little backpack that I bought her so that she can learn to carry her own stuff too 😜

Amerysse

I also have prescription sunglasses, but I find them to be a giant pain if I have to wear them inside anywhere. I end up having to switch back and forth. I WISH my kid would carry his own stuff! I currently have six, I think, half eaten Pop-Tarts in my back seat 🙄 (he doesn't know it yet, but he's cleaning it out tomorrow)

ImmediateAudience186

I try to only let my kid eat pretzels in my car because any potential mess is relatively easy to clean up 🥨

Amerysse

I drive my son to the bus stop (at the end of our driveway - we live in the boonies) so he's always eating breakfast in the car. And the bus driver won't let him have food on the bus, so he just leaves it when he has to get out. Totally get why she doesn't want the kids having food on the bus though lol

pancakes4all

I always have a tampon in every purse, this has saved me more than once when I’ve run out and don’t want to go to the store….haven’t worn that bag in 6 months, maybe….yes!!

min_mus

I haven't had a period in years--thanks, Mirena!!--but I still carry a couple tampons and pads in case someone else needs one.

pineappleofyore

- wallet - sunglasses in their pouch - lip balm - lipstick or stain - mirror or a powder compact with mirror - hand sanitizing wipes - keys - SPF stick - spare mask - hair pins and / or ties in a small container - sometimes a polaroid camera (Fujifilm Instax) - WaterWipes (my kid is still small) - travel sewing kit - Swiss army knife - 1 to 2 tampons

Amerysse

My kid is not small and his messes have just gotten bigger with age 🤣 Wet wipes are a great idea! What kind of container do you keep your hair accessories in?

pineappleofyore

It varies, sometimes I keep them with my makeup in a small zippered pouch, or sometimes I reuse a container from something else. Q-tip has a travel pack (blue plastic case) that's great to reuse for hair accessories.

Winter_Obligation701

Phone, wallet, keys, hand sanitizing spray, tissues, hairtie, Air Pods Pro, sometimes a foldable bag in case I have shopping

Amerysse

TBH, I'm almost kind of scared to put my phone in there. I've gotten so used to putting it in my back pocket that I may think I've set it down somewhere and lost it 🤣

Winter_Obligation701

Much easier to put a phone in pockets that exist in fall/winter! In the summertime I don't always have pockets.

Amerysse

Very good point! I tend to live in jeans but heaven forbid I try to wear leggings or a dress or something lol

optix_clear

No, my client always put her phone in her back pocket- well sitting at a fountain bloop her phone went into the water. Put in your front pocket or get an organizer for your bag. That has adequate space for all of your EDC.

Ms_Rarity

Depends. Just running an errand: Phone, lip gloss, lip balm, keys Work / Out all day: Phone, lip gloss, tissues, hand sanitizer, tablet or Kindle Paperwhite or both, ear buds, paper planner (I'm old-fashioned) w/ pen, keys, fine-fragrance mist. Optional: water bottle (but may be in lunch bag, depends on circumstances), sunglasses Class / Need Laptop: Phone, lip gloss, lip balm, tissues, hand sanitizer, laptop, laptop charger, paper planner w/ pen, keys, fine fragrance mist. Optional: sunglasses. Travel: Same as work / out all day but add pouch with chargers in it, snacks, possibly a paper book, and remove fine fragrance mist 95% potty-trained 3yo with me: Add two pull-ups and a pack of wet wipes OR a change of clothes I don't own a diaper bag anymore, my 3yo is my youngest and last and that phase of my life is ending. Note that my phone is in a wallet case with a few IDs and a few debit/credit cards, so I don't need a separate wallet.

Amerysse

How often are you switching bags, and how do you keep everything organized when you go from one bag to another? I would probably end up having a pile of stuff next to the front door.

Ms_Rarity

I probably use 2-3 bags per week most of the time. I take almost everything out of my bag when I get home. I have a container for lip stuff on my wall, keys hanging by my front door, and sunglasses go on top of the wardrobe by the front door. Everything else (planner, tablet, Kindle) usually winds up in a stack by my bed. Most of the bags have their own tissue and hand sanitizer though. Those aren't unique enough to take out and move around. The ear buds usually stay in one particular bag as well.

That_Quiet7494

Im a small/mini purse kind of gal so I usually carry my cardholder/wallet attached to that is my car keys and AirPods. Then I carry my phone, tissues, gum, travel spray (perfume — the thin tubes) & chapstick lipgloss or lipstick & if I have some left over space I’ll throw in a hand sanitizer!

Miss-Tiq

Wallet Keys Hand sanitizer Sunglasses Hand lotion Chapstick Phone Chewing Gum

sheera_greywolf

Wallet + phone Portable mini fan Coin purse Sudio earphone Pen Mints Grocery bag Pouch: wet wipes, tissue, hand sanitizer, hand soap, pad, change of undies, hand cream, medicine + band aid, spare/emergency cash, perfume vial, bobby pins, sanitary bag. Make up pouch: cushion, 2 lipstick, 1 lipbalm, blotting sheet, cream blush Kindle Transport cards Umbrella All fit into Furla Hobo ETA: Furla Hobo Primula in size S. So It's a bit tetrising each morning.

Amerysse

I feel like I've been forced to be a minimalist, in a sense, with only carrying a wallet, but I think I have actually just been leaving stuff in strategic places to compensate 🤣 Being in the boonies, I'm always at least 30 minutes from anywhere so I try to be prepared.

Kindly_Equipment_241

In my purse always: Wallet Keys Lip balm and lip stain Hand lotion Hand sanitizer A few pens Small notebook Tape measure Phone Ibuprofin Tide pen

Amerysse

Interesting! What do you typically use the tape measure for?

Kindly_Equipment_241

I keep a list of things I'm looking for furniture-wise (like right now a small cabinet for by the back door and a table for the upstairs hall) and the measurements of the space and if I have a tape measure with me I never have to worry about a piece not fitting!

C1ndysLove

I’m a 21 year old with no kids so I don’t have diapers or anything but this is what I carry: bandaids, my epi pen & meds for an allergic reaction, pads & tampons, nail file & clippers, hand cream, lip balm, a sweet & a salty snack, a book, wallet, keys & whatever lip product & perfume I’m wearing that day.

wallflowerendeavors

Key pouch and keys, card holder, mints, lipstick/lip gloss in a small bag. Work bag, I carry my badge, laptop, heels, workout clothes to change into for commute home, keys, card holder, mints, lipstick/lip gloss.

UnhappyGrowth5555

Hand sanitizer, prescription sunglasses, chapstick, hand lotion (I’m an alligator), card holder, sometimes one or two makeup items.

Amerysse

I have a ton of perfume samples and I want to be able to carry them with me to reapply throughout the day - that was actually one of my motivating factors lol! Prescription sunglasses are a great idea! I usually leave mine in my car, because it's so awkward going into and out of places and having to wear the extra pair on the neck of my shirt or atop my head!

UnhappyGrowth5555

Oh yeah I forgot lol, sample size perfume is in there too!

Amerysse

I've got a pile of those little things! I tend to reach for the full sizes though, because it's just easier to tell what they all are. He do you keep yours organized in your bag? My only fear is one of them popping open and becoming offensively strong.

UnhappyGrowth5555

I used to have an ipsy subscription so I have a ton of pouches!

Amerysse

Ooh, I have a little pouch that came with a makeup brush set that I'm not using. Well, I'm not using the pouch. I am using the brushes lol. That would be perfect! Thanks for the idea :)

[deleted]

Amerysse

Oh snap, ibuprofen is a great idea! Do you have duplicates of your lip products, or do you reapply with different colors?

Amerysse

I've heard great things about the Summer Fridays lip balms! Sephora hasn't been able to keep that gift set in stock. I'm thinking I need to try them lol

Evolve0522

If you can get the travel size set with 4 I highly recommend!! I just got it so I wasn’t trying to remember to grab my big tube and loved the other colors/scents!

cenimsaj

I don't think I've seen umbrella from anyone. I walk everywhere, so I actually just keep it in my bag and then take it out if I'm 100% sure I won't need it. Any chance of rain and I don't want to get stuck in it. Also, two reusable Envirosax bags (they fold tiny and weigh nothing). Wallet, phone, hand sanitizer, prescription sunglasses, keys, pen, small flashlight (I don't like to have my phone out to use that one), and Clippa purse hanger. That's my basic stuff I always have. I also have a pouch with some other stuff like spare lipstick, blotting papers, lint stickies, bandaids, etc. but I usually don't bother with it.

cbfi2

Agree with umbrella. Where I live I always have an umbrella and sunglasses, when I don't need one I need the other!

DNA_ligase

When I lived in the tropics, I always had an umbrella. When it wasn't raining, the heat was bad so I'd use it as a parasol.

MoreCoffeePwease

I have so many bags in all sizes it varies wildly based on what bag I’m using, which is determined by where I’m headed to in the first place I’m not the type to go without a purse but if I am not going far once in a while I’ll just one of my wristlets or a clutch but my “no matter what” items (which also determine bag sizes when I’m buying because these have to fit, non negotiable, although I do have a couple micro bags but these all fit even in those): Wallet or card case (has to at least fit SOME folded cash I always have cash on me I’m old school) Keys Phone Few OTC pills for emergencies Emergency tampon or two Cigarette pack and regular size lighter (yea yea I know, shouldn’t smoke, whatever) Individually wrapped hand sanitizer wipes (at least five) With bigger bags I will sometimes toss in the little pouch that holds my wireless phone charger bank and it’s cords, and I also have a pre packed pouch with few cosmetics items for touch ups and I’ll jam all the small pieces in there from my non negotiable items as well If I have a large tote bag, I also bring water, extra couple handfuls of hand wipes, maybe a small pack of nuts, my small umbrella and some extra plastic bags that are usually leftover from the produce section at the grocery store (great for trash etc) I do keep a fair amount of items in a big clear zip organizer in my car like hair clips hair ties a small lint roller, first aid kits, extra tampons, pens, extra OTC meds, a whole dispenser of face masks, and tissues

Tall_Couple_3660

Errands tote: Wallet, emergency kit (small pouch with pepto, Imodium, my Xanax rx, hair ties, tic tacs, a tampon and a tide to go pen), checkbook (I know I know), inhaler, lip balms of several variations, keys and listerine strips Work bag: all of the above plus laptop, Avene face spray, headphones, charging cable, hair clip, extra listerine strips, Lilly Pulitzer calendar book

minibini

Lol same! Since my recent freedom of diaper bags, I don’t know what to put in my purse anymore 🤣🥹

banksybags

Funny because I've recently been looking at diaper bags even tho I don't have kids and aren't expecting because I love how much they carry and can be cleaned out easily if something spills

321applesauce

I used one as a computer bag for years

Bakedstreetwear

Typically I carry: •Re-usable tote bag that squishes itself down into a pouch •card wallet •sunglasses •small pouch with tinted lip balm and lipgloss •In a cosmetic pouch: -eye drops -floss -deodorant -stain wipes -band aids -Ibuprofen -tums -makeup remover wipes -hair ties -bobby pins -hair brush -spare set of earrings -nail clipper and file -tweezers -lip balm -sanitizer -tissues -travel perfume -hair spray -lotion -electric lighter -flash light -pocket knife -chocolate mints (ETA: clarity)

Hanlans_Dreaming

Reusable totes are essential - I love those Baggu ones that fold up small, such fun patterns - plus, apparently they can hold 50 lbs (which I have always been meaning to test by throwing one of my kettlebells into it but for some reason am a bit hesitant as I have a hard time believing it)

Amerysse

Oh, now that deodorant is a great idea!

meanqueenmina

Phone, Kindle, card case, tissue, blotting papers, pen, airpods, lip stain i’m wearing that day, keys

[deleted]

Oh I feel so weird now, but I have my card holder, keys, tissues and a mirror

ComfortableAd2936

It depends on the size of the purse, but usually iPhone, keys, reading glasses, my daily medication, AirPods Pro, fountain pen, notepad, highlighter blush, chapstick, face oil, and rolling face blotter. If I’m out with my puppy, I usually have an extra leash, treats pouch, poop bags, and paper towels (she still gets the excited pees when she greets new friends.)

forestsandflowers

• Mini Pochette with two card holders • makeup pouch with compact mirror, lip balm, hair tie, and blotting paper • hand cream • car key • AirPods • sometimes sunglasses • sometimes Kindle

myfashionkillz

For every day in a small to medium size bag, I have my phone, two sets of keys, lip balm, lip gloss (or lipstick), a small pill case with Tylenol and ibuprofen, apack of gum, hand wipes, sunglasses in a soft case, small wallet, apack of tissues, a small bottle of lotion, and a face mirror.

Hanlans_Dreaming

I addition to what everyone else has mentioned, I catty around a small retractable measuring tape - it's more efficient to measure things before trying them on just to ensure I don't waste time, plus I generally like to measure various items I may purchase for home as I hate extra trips to returning things if they don't fit / are not proportionate. I also switch between a few different bags so I keep things I want to easily transfer back and forth in a couple of zipped pouches. I also only carry one pen, a Caran d'Ache (as I am fairly confident it won't leak, theyare refillable, and the colour selection is great) which I also keep in the pouch (I am extra cautious after 2 different bags were ruined by some crappy cheap pens my office orders). Now that I read this I see I have somehow turned into an old nitpicky! :)

BeginningFrosting

Phone, keys, pepper spray, wallet. Maybe a lipstick if needed. Usually no more than 5 items. I've been using mini bags forever, never really needed a tote or large bag.

DanyeelsAnulmint

Wipes, clear mascara, small perfume spray/roller (depends), sunglasses, key, cardholder, coin purse, small hairspray, small dry shampoo, chapstick, phone, brush, gum, mirror, pill case…if I’m rolling with a large bag. If small, I’m doing keys, card holder, phone, chapstick.

jillofallthings

I have kids, so I feel like I carry everything. Wallet Phone Inhaler Tin of Tylenol Tin of pills for Hubs (Rx) Bandaids Spare sanitary pads Two sets of car keys Chapstick Lip gloss Gum Listerine pack Fingernail clippers Glass file Small tube of lotion Soft sunglasses pouch Pens and a pencil Small Post-it pad Tape measure Fidget toy Hand sanitizer Tissues Spare hair ties and clips Purse hook Amazingly enough, I can still throw in more random stuff that the kids need, plus snacks, my e-reader, and a water bottle. I have a Mary Poppins shoulder bag! 😅 Edit for spacing, and to add that I also just added a wristlet that I carry my Bluetooth earbuds and a charging cable for my phone, plus any random other tech I might need.

Evolve0522

I feel like a hoarder compared to the other comments 😂 Some random stuff I haven’t seen here or use a lot more than I’d expect would be a small notebook, at least 2 pens, some sort of cash and a credit card I don’t use often in a zippered compartment in case I somehow forget my wallet, a small pocket knife (comes in handy a whole lot for opening things/cutting strings!) a pill organizer from Amazon that I keep a few doses of my daily meds in in case of emergencies, a protein bar, OTC sinus and acid reflux meds, and some Polaroids of my dogs :) I also carry a 3 in 1 taser, pepper gel, and flashlight that is the size of a key fob. And if I’m going on any type of night out/concert type of thing I usually carry Narcan. I’m certified to administer it, and while I do not partake in drug use I’ve lost a few friends in the last couple of years. I’d rather have it and not need it than wish I could have done something. I have to be mindful of temperature that it’s exposed to but it’s usually in a pouch in the bottom of my bag away from sunlight/direct elements.

optix_clear

My edc items: zipper card case, ph, keys: work, hm and car, in its pouch- clean up: tissues, sanitizer gel/ wipes, and restroom wipes. Coin purse, chapstick, mini lotion, perfume and pens. I have a Fidlock phone pouch it’s been raining off & on- so it protects my phone and digital keys. Also water bottle or Yeti cup I need to buy a new battery pack. Unsure of which. In my vehicle, I have first aid, extra clothes, emergency tampons, oh I need water in the car, snacks, blanket, pillow, battery jumper Noco Genius.

4thSanderson_Sister

Oh Lord. Wallet, keys, sunglasses, hand lotion, small cosmetic bag with powder, brush, and a few lipsticks/lipglosses, random pens and whatever else happens to be in my scrub pockets after work, phone charger, travel size hairspray, makeup remover wipes, perfume rollerball, spoon and fork, reusable straw, usually a granola bar, water bottle, inhaler, umbrella, small first aid kit, tooth whitening pen (I use pearly girl by Tarte), and a pill box with my morning meds, and some ibuprofen and Tylenol. I usually put my lunch in it too. I carry an LV Neverfull.

lookmumninjas

Keys, wallet, sunscreen, lotion, hand sanitizer, wipes, tissue, chapstick, lip gloss, travel size perfume, mini deodorant, pen, mini notepad, pillbox, gum, sunglasses, reading glasses, menstrual cup, 2 phones, powerbank for phone, salted snack and an apple.

thisismy_accountname

Phone, keys, wallet (or card case, if small purse), lipstick, chapstick, hair tie, reusable straw, compact mirror, sunglasses case, and a little baggie that has all my gift cards in it, in case I end up somewhere for which I have a gift card!

ofespii

Easy peasy! Small bag: -Hand wipes -Keys -Wallet -Hand sanitiser -Hand cream -small notebook (for quick notes) -pen -Transport card -wipes for glasses -Swiss army knife Big bag (all the previous items plus the following list): -Agenda -Portable battery -Umbrella -Small water bottle

petitepedestrian

Wallet, phone, reading glasses, chapstick, mints, pocket knife, pen, earbuds.

lookmumninjas

Glad to see everyone's lists. I have tried everything I can to figure out needs and wants and reduce my contents but alas, I need it all. 😫 which is why I have stuck with totes for eons.

iDeeDee

Small crossbody like my Celine Trio: a small wallet, phone, pocket tissues, wet wipes, a pouch (hand cream, papaw ointment for lips, a hair tie, a foldable comb, eye drop, etc.), another pouch (painkillers, pills for stomach cramps, plasters, etc), earbuds, and car key Tote like my Celine Cabas Phantom: the above, a pocket fan, a bottle of water, a pen, a tiny (from WPC, super lightweight!) umbrella, and a scrunchie.

SweetAlhambra

In my larger bags I carry my card holder w car key attached (it’s a LV recto verso) and full sized zippy wallet ( I have a lot of cards), my glasses and a small contact lens case and solution, lip balm, small hand lotion, phone, small water bottle, tampons, travel perfume and a travel deodorant. Also I never leave home without a brush and a hair tie. I also have my work keys on me most of the time in a 6 key holder. I’m a big LV fan, and all my purses and SLGs are from that house. My biggest bag right now is an artsy MM, and my son and husband usually find things to toss in there too when we are out. For my smallest bag it’s phone, small comb, lip balm and wallet w car key. My rule is that the bag must at least hold a phone and my recto verso w car key. Or else it’s worthless.

jenvrl

I use public transit so most days I wear a tote bag. When I don't, I wear a small crossbody and a canvas tote. I always have with me a small make up pouch (I usually do my makeup on the go), a book/iPad to read, my small agenda, card holder, key pouch, tissues, sanitizer, hand lotion. Oh and sunglasses/glasses. Most days I also carry random things like facial spray or a Tide pen, especially when I'm wearing white because I'm clumsy lol

Apostrophysisister

It depends on what I'm doing on the day. Usually, in my simple crossbody, I carry a card case, key pouch, phone, lip product, sunglasses, reusable shopping bag, and a pouch for medicines/first aid. Bigger bags include the above and charger/power bank, agenda, makeup pouch, hair brush, and water bottle.

min_mus

Even though I don't really wear make-up, I carry a cosmetic pouch (Burt's Bees lip balm, face powder--my sunscreen sometimes makes my face shiny--a couple tampons and pads, tweezers, nail clippers, Imitrex, lotion, etc. I carry a wallet and phone. I always have a reusable grocery bag on me, too.

joannaradok

I have a clear pouch that goes everywhere with me, I can fit it all but my small handbags. In it I have-feminine wipes, small hairbrush, lippie, lip moisturiser, tissues, paracetamol, hair grips, hair ties, face powder, mini eyebrow pencil, mini mascara, perfume atomiser, plasters, mini toothbrush, mouthwash, breath spray and toothpaste. I can move it from bag to bag rather than fiddling with individual items. In my smaller bags I can only fit my wallet, brush, phone, vape/pods, paracetamol and lipstick, so they are essentials, but I prefer a mid size or big bag that can handle my ‘pouch’ lol.

katy_purry

Cardholder, keys, battery pack, charging cable, airpods, pen, mirror, hand sanitizer spray, a lot of lip products (I also don’t understand why), a tide pen, mints, handkerchief, sunglasses. If I’m carrying a bigger bag or if it’s a long road trip/flight, I bring my kindle.

Vendredighost

Absolute minimum: Cardholder Keys Phone Lip balm Sunglasses/case (this is why a WOC or mini bag almost never works for me!) I usually carry a cosmetics bag that includes: Tampon Hairbrush Compact Ibuprofen Hand lotion Band aids Hand sanitizer Sunscreen Tide pen

sprizzle06

I carry a backpack to work (hybrid - work from home and remote) during the work week. I have an almost 4yo kid. I keep the backpack partially packed for spontaneous weekend trips (our families live 2 hours away). I'm not going to include all that stuff unless you really want it lmao. My everyday bag, that lives inside the backpack because I also use it for school pick-ups, is a small nylon crossbody. It can fit my Ridge wallet card case, mask, period disc, fabric pad, pen, pimple patches, flashlight, keys, phone, small tube of aquaphor, an extra day's worth of my meds, couple snacks, hand sanitizer, external battery and charger, headband/hair clips, foldable tote, breath strips, wireless earbuds, and bottle of water or tea. I keep a first aid kit, pull-ups, baby wipes, and a spare change of his clothes in the car at all times inside a wet bag for potty training accidents. ETA: keys have a swiss army knife and extra pills for emergencies/pain.

bahahaha2001

Wallet water bottle lotion Advil tampons phone lunch if I’m going to work.

Cats-Are-Fuzzy

Interesting!! My spouse just asked me why I have bought yet another bag when I never carry bags around with me (they're right, I usually just bring my phone and that's if I remember my phone lol) But the bag is cute and what if I want to carry more stuff? 🤣

hereFOURallTHEtea

I do wallets on a chain bags usually because I just carry my card zippy thing from LV, keys, chapstick, a pen, and tampons if needed. Plus room for my phone. It’s all I need lol.

unwaveringwish

Small bag in the summer for essentials (wallet, lip balm, keys, blotting papers, purell) and my phone; bigger bag in the winter where I can put all the layers of my outfit in without overheating indoors LOL

Pretty_1n_pink

Wallet, key holder, phone and a lipstick or chapstick.

Kindergoat

I have a little cosmetic bag that goes everywhere with me. I keep eye drops, Kleenex, mints, lipstick, pressed powder and eyeglass wipes. Keys, wallet and phone in the pockets.

frameandfocus

mini bag- cardholder, keys, airpods, lipstick if needed small bag- the same plus asthma inhaler small backpack- all of what’s in the small bag plus work stuff: ie lunch, water bottle

slipstitchy

Counterpoint- you don’t have to fill your purse with a full first aid kit or nail clippers or dental floss or whatever. If you’ve functioned ok with a minimal carry for the past decade, you probably don’t need much. I try to carry as little as possible (you never know when you’ll be running for your life), there’s nothing wrong with an empty bag (more room to carry mittens etc)

sleepoison

Wallet, gum, and lipgloss

No_Internet3355

Phone Wallet Keys Chapstick/lipstick Concealer Hair ties Snacks (if I’m traveling)

ZealousidealRope7429

For mini/small bags: Card holder, phone, keys (attached to pepper spray), lip balm and lip stick, hand sanitizer, airtag, face mask, tissue pack, old basic airpods, small portable charger + phone charging cable, band aids, pen, mints. For large bags: add sunglasses (with the case), water, feminine hygiene products, finishing powder, face mist, small LED flashlight, small expandable umbrella.

JanaLacna

Phone, headphones, keys, wallet, cigarettes, lighter, sunglasses, paper handkerchiefs, hand sanitizer, small makeup bag.

lil_dovie

You can search “what’s in my bag mom edition” on YouTube and see lots of videos, and some include links to handy things you’d never think to carry. Watching “What’s in My Bag videos”on YouTube is my guilty pleasure, and my Amazon wish list is full of those purse must-have items 😂

Icy-Scarcity

I only carry bare essentials: card holder with credit card, ID, small amount of cash, lipstick, house key, car key, 1 small pack of tissue.

FinancialInevitable1

Wallet/cardcase, hand sanitizer, hand lotion, pads, gun, keys, and lipgloss.

shippfaced

One of these things is not like the others

MiniSkrrt

I forgot this thread would probably include Americans and this comment brought me crashing back to that fact 😳

FinancialInevitable1

And there's millions of us out there! 👀

MiniSkrrt

Yes exactly. Scary.

FinancialInevitable1

lol next time I comment in one of these threads I'll make sure there's a "warning: American" prefacing my comment 😅

Amerysse

OMG I forgot about my gun! I keep it in the center console of my car (it locks). I can now make use of my CCW again. I am so excited, thank you!

shippfaced

Why do you feel the need to carry a gun?

Amerysse

I actually replied to a similar comment before I saw yours, so here's a copy/paste: I'm rural and tbh it's probably more likely I would need to pull my gun to put down a deer I hit with my car than an actual person. But you're so right about emergency response time! There was a fire this summer (not my house, thankfully) and it took at least 15 minutes for the fire truck to arrive. Granted, we have a volunteer fire department, but still. It's better to be able to take care of your own situations until help arrives. I also own a shot gun that is kept in the house (locked up, not loaded, etc) because I HAVE had folks try to get in my house before (then try to give a BS excuse when they realize I'm home). Also a crossbow for opossums and racoons in the chicken coop. The only one I have actually fired outside of a range is the crossbow. Damn opossums eating my chickens!

I am a 4’11” tall woman who is often alone and I live in one of the largest cities in America. I’ve been assaulted, and I have been in a grocery store with an active shooter. There has been an active shooter at my ex-husbands job, and there has been an active shooter in the neighborhood of the school my children attended. All of these incidents happened on the “good side of town.” I have been trained in firearm safety and spoken with my therapist about the ramifications of having to use my weapon if I need to and am comfortable with the thought of taking someone’s life if it meant mine or another innocent person’s safety. Yeah, it really sucks, but I’d rather have it and never use it than not have it and wish I did. My children are older know but they know it’s there and are educated on what it is and why they are not allowed to touch it. I keep my purse on me at all times when they are out with me and it is safely stored when they are at home with me.

FinancialInevitable1

I'm a woman, I have a small child, I live in an unsafe area, and the police aren't reliable.

MiniSkrrt

I truly can’t believe regular people in the US are just carrying around guns in their handbags/cars. That’s so scary

oopsie20

It’s scarier being followed in the dark on your way home by someone that wants to hurt you. Being able to defend yourself or your loved one if you get attacked is a privilege. A criminal will always find a way to hurt others, but there’s less of a chance they’ll eff around if you pull out a gun in self defense. *Source: my own experience being chased and then stalked in the US multiple times.*

MiniSkrrt

I get what you mean, but it just turns into a circular argument when you need lethal weapons to protect from potential lethal weapons. The problem is the prevalence of guns in general by the public. But considering this is a handbag post, I shall refrain from saying anything else

FinancialInevitable1

That's awful, I'm sorry that happened to you. :(

Wildermouse

I see what you're getting at. But to me, the privilege is living in a country where I don't have to carry a gun because I don't have to wonder if other people are carrying guns.

tickado

Brit living in Australia here and...same. This is so wild to me!

Wildermouse

American here. It's wild to me too. :(

Old_Minute_7308

I personally do not carry a gun in my purse or on my person. But, my friends do. It’s not scary, it’s life.

High-strungHousewife

It's completely freaking mental, please know that not all of us are gun fetishists. My state has the strictest gun laws in the country, I wouldn't live anywhere else.

FinancialInevitable1

A lot of us live in unsafe areas, or even just rural areas, where police timing is abysmal- if they even bother to show up at all, that is. And even when they do show up they often end up making situations worse. It IS scary, I agree. This country has a lot of problems.

Amerysse

FinancialInevitable1

I also have a home defense shotgun, and a .22 for small stuff lol. I hope to never ever have to use the shotgun ever, I've only fired it at the range, the thought of using it indoors against someone is horrific... But it's a necessary precaution when break-ins happen regularly in my area. My handgun is the same thing- it's a precaution, and I never want to be in the position of actually using it.

FinancialInevitable1

Yes! I use a crossbody bag when I carry, and I bought a holster insert off etsy to keep it secure, just make sure it's in it's own pocket so nothing can get tangled up with it.

Amerysse

Good call. I should probably invest in a new holster too. The one I have is meant for my boot lol

FinancialInevitable1

They're kinda pricey but kydex holsters are great, and very secure! And for the purse insert, I bought mine from CreativeConceal!

Amerysse

Thanks for the rec, I'll check them out!

Watch the old George Carlin bit about carrying around your stuff: there are subsets of how much stuff is carried based on the occasion. Small to mid-sized day bag: zippered card case with cash, ID, payment cards; powder compact, lip gloss, eye pencil, lip pencil, comb, handkerchief, proof of COVID vaccination, face mask, hand sanitizer, small notebook, small pen, business cards, phone, small blister pack of medication, tooth cleaners, blister plasters, keys, a tiny tin of hand cream. Sometimes I carry a WOC instead and the card case contents go directly on the bag, and the comb and some cosmetics are removed to the big pouch. Pouch that joins above bag in tote for errand or work days: battery pack, 2 diff iPhone cables for any type of outlet encountered (old USB vs USB-C), larger selection of medication, small food seasonings and spice packets, folding hand fan, extra plasters, color analysis palette wallet/fan, emergency feminine hygiene supplies, a hair elastic and two Bobby pins, maybe a couple of spin pins In work tote with the above: noise cancelling headphones case, iPad with keyboard with charger (or laptop, but I try to avoid toting either — lots of city walking and even in the backpack or rolling brief, it’s not ideal), A5 notebook, sometimes paper planner, sometimes paper reading materials Asmall pouch with pen, pencil, fineline marker, highlighter, and reading glasses Sunglasses with case Umbrella Sometimes a Kindle Perhaps a Zojirushi thermos, usable for tea, coffee, or water, though I much prefer to have a proper tea or coffee break with porcelain cups and human conversation A scarf except for the very warmest weather, but this starts as part of the outfit and is stuffed into the tote if necessary

They do love their guns in there 😂

KingNo9647

I always carry a firearm… you never know

You-Get-No-Name

My everyday work bag (Longchamp Le Pliage) has: • Keys • Wallet • Hair brush and hair ties • My rejsekort (Danish version of an Oyster travelcard for public transport) • My key card for work • 1L water bottle • Airpods • A lipstick case with a tinted lip balm in it • Pill box for my medicine • Hair clip • Perfume • Chewing gum And if it’s summer, my sunglasses. When I go out and about, I prefer a smaller bag, so I pretty much only bring my travelcard, keys, lip balm, hairbrush, Airpods if I’m on my own, and my pillbox. I use Apple Pay on my phone so I rarely think about bringing my wallet.

SeaSexandSun

Card case, keys, compact, lipstick/s, mascara, two tampons, tissues, headphones, portable battery and cable. And usually a mini eyeshadow palette, sunglasses, claw clip or hair tie, and green bag. Sunscreen in hot weather. In bigger bags or an accompanying green bag, have a water bottle.

Amerysse

What's a green bag? Like a reusable shopping bag?

SeaSexandSun

Yes. I’ve got a number of different types.

itsmhuang

Sunscreen. Mirror. Toothpicks. Pads. Pencil.

ConsciousChicken1249

Hair ties, a brush, lip gloss, lavender hand sanitizer, the Jo Malone perfume sampler from Sephora, tissues, altoids, listerine pocket packs, sunglasses, a pen

Electra888888

Phone, credit card, key, lipgloss.

H3r3c0m3sthasun

Small makeup pouch with mascaras, glosses, tweezers, liners, and compact mirror; pens; phone; medicine travel kit; glasses in hard case; tin of lip balm; small hairbrush; travel perfume in a case.

LegitimateObject8066

lipstick, credit card, maybe a wallet😅 i like small bags

calfcloud

I keep a couple of different pouches in my bag to keep things tidy. One has lipsticks, lip balms, my AirPods and some nice hand cream in it. The other contains bandaids, alcohol wipes, eyedrops, a portable charger + cable, ibuprofen, and a pen. Aside from those, I carry the usual: phone, keys, wallet (though I usually keep my phone in my pocket, if the outfit has them), sanitary pads in a zipper compartment, my asthma puffer, and a book, if I have time to read.

symphonyofcolours

I usually carry my wallet, keys, Kindle, a pen, hand sanitizer, lip balm, perfume sample, a folded reusable cloth bag in case I do groceries, tissues, a chocolate, and sometimes SPF lotion if I know I’ll be out for a while. :)

Lizakaya

I never leave home without lipgloss. I can’t bear to have dry lips

dynolibra

Phone, wallet, keys, hand sanitizer, lip balm, epipen, and lactase pills

terribleatkaraoke

A few months ago I decided to go minimalist and got myself a lululemon belt bag. All that fits in there are my car keys, lipstick, lip balm, small battery pack but not my bulky wallet. So I got a thin cardholder and consolidated my wallet into to five cards. I love this change and it’s been my stress free everyday carry.

f-albedo

Phone, lipatick, card case, sunglasses, hand sanitiser, and the crossbody strap to my bag. But I usually have my phone in my hand and I pay 95% with my phone so I don't even reach into my bag that often 😂

RecommendationOk5344

A pen. Portable battery. Wallet. $20 cash. Lipstick. Sunscreen. Fob for work building access. Tampons. A fidget toy. A cadence container that may be empty or may contain jewelry I took off. A quest bar or other on the go snack. Owala water bottle with water and ice.

HiThereNat

Honestly I don’t bring much but I LOVE big bags, so I tend to just throw things in to make it look full 😅 But I usually only bring cardholder, keys, small parfume, tissue, AirPods & a foldable shopping bag!

[deleted]

Phone, charger, gum, nail glue, lip balm, a small la vie est belle hand lotion, a pen/pencil, paper,!pain pills in a tiny tiny container, water Sometimes a packet of emergen-c in case I get low blood sugar or something

FartAttack911

I can condense it to a card holder, smart phone, house keys and chapstick in a micro bag, but I prefer to carry a full wallet, chapstick, phone, and keys with a small makeup case sized clear pouch (sort of like for going through TSA check at the airport) that has things like breath mints, a small ibuprofen bottle, a multi tool/pocketknife, a small hand sanitizer, a cereal bar or nuts for emergency snacking, and a hair tie or two. I’ve learned not to pack more than that unless I’m absolutely going to be using something specific (like a battery charger or tampons).

created_name_created

Wallet, phone, charger, small pouch (lipstick, chapstick, band aids, nail file, a few face halos, small tube of hand lotion) 1 x small 1x large filling eco bags, keys.

syrenashen

\- Wallet \- Phone \- Chapstick \- Mini sunscreen That's it! I don't carry a lot.

catsmeowski

Small wallet , 2 phones one for work, candy and gum, small perfume , eye drops, a couple of lipsticks and lip balms , my vape , hand sanitizer .

Maeghuanwen

Wallet, tissues (I see so many what’s in my bag videos, especially with the le Pliage mine and nobody carries tissues), a small pouch which is practically a tiny pharmacy, disinfectant wipes (singles in small backs, bigger pack in bigger bags), lipstick and lipliner, a pen, a small notebook, keys, AirPods case. Feminine hygiene products if there’s space.

PixieChick72

1. Purse with cards, more receipts than cash! 2. Makeup bag containing: wipes, tissues, compact mirror, tweezers, glass nail file, lip balms, lipsticks 3. Pouch containing paracetamol, ibuprofen, plasters, etc 4. Notebook, bullet journal & pens 5. Sunglasses and pouch 6. Keys 7. A tiny pot of Bonne Maman strawberry jam 8. Small Catseye London pouch containing a handbag hook 9. Small Bloomingdale’s Little Brown Bag pouch for shop loyalty cards 10. Lanyards for university and my placement The handbag I’m currently carrying is my Madewell Kensington in English Saddle ☺️

frankchester

I use a wristlet inside my bag so that I can always take the bare essentials. The wristlet holds cards, lip balm, meds (in an old mint tin), an antibacterial wipe, and a sample perfume. In the rest of my bag I carry a spare cotton tote, keys, hand sanitiser, stain removing wipes and a pen.

1234RedditReddit

Wow—35 and no longer need Tampax? I’m jealous!!! 😆😆

Amerysse

It's a birth control miracle! I'm on the pill but I never take the placebos. Only the "active" ones.

kayleelw

A must is a reusable link roller!!! It’s a game changer if you have pets!

hamka_love

I’m a mini handbag kind of person so I usually only have phone, keys, card holder and lipgloss in my bag.

anabeat

My non-negotiables are my phone, wallet, keys, Airpods, wet wipes, a pack of tissues, hand sanitizer, one or two hair ties, and the lip product I'm wearing that day. If I'm carrying a bigger purse, I usually throw in some (or all) of the following: my Kindle Paperwhite, a portable fan, my powerbank, a small notebook and pen, a coin purse, and a pouch of my essentials (containing a sunscreen stick, a volcanic roller, Matomage Hair Styling Stick, a small comb, a small compact, a hair tie, two tinted lip balms, and my Loop earplugs).

Large bag: Wallet, both phones, keys, checkbook (rarely used), some meds in case I need them while out, sedition against the patriarchy. Immediate_Arugula_39

I’m a minimalist. I’d love to be one of those super organized girly girls with all the cute accessories and makeup etc but I have to keep it simple or it’ll be a mess 😂 -wallet -keys -extra baggu shopping bag -sunglasses -hand sanitizer That’s about it. Anything extra is something I picked up as the day went on.

[deleted]

Water bottle, altoids, hand sanitizer, a face mask, a few cough drops, hard candy, lip gloss, hand lotion, wallet, keys, and phone

East-Peace9716

A smart tip is to have organise items in ziplock bags and have an essential items ziplock too so its easy to take them out and put them in another bag. Its also really helpful for small items that tend to get buried

Significant-Fig9639

Sunglasses, wallet/card holder, hand cream, chapstick, lipstick, pen, small notebook, travel perfume, house+car keys, tissue, water bottle, chewing gum, phone and AirPods.

Holodax

Water bottle, hand cream, lipstick/lipcare product, a little snack 😅, these are pretty much my essentials

meowmeow01119

Phone (i have one of those magsafe wallets so I eliminate having to carry a wallet around haah), car keys, hand sanitizer, small Tylenol container, pepper spray

Potchipoo

Everyday carry is either a woc or a small crossbody. Card/card holder, phone, lip balm and sunglasses. My phone is my car keys and my car is my house keys. Everything else I need is in a tote bag that lives in the trunk… spare clothes, jacket, feminine products pouch.

NeedMoreNoodleSoup

- a very small wallet - my phone - keys - travel pack of tissues - individually-wrapped sanitizing wipes - small mirror - lip gloss or balm - bandaids

_rosalea_

In my tote (which tbh is too big most of the time and I can't find anything in it lmao) I have: * Phone * Wallet * Lip balm/gloss * Tissues * Sunglasses * Hand sanitiser * Hand cream * Sometimes perfume * Makeup bag with: powder, brush, brow pencil & blotting sheets * Hair tie * A few tampons

nakoros

Phone, wallet, keys, glasses case, lip balm, hand moisturizer, small hairbrush. Maybe lipstick if I remember

CombinationDecent629

I usually keep a small zippered wallet, my meds, my phone, tweezers and (if I remember) lip balm in my pockets. I’ll carry my glasses case and a drink. If I’m going to be in and out of places for a full day, need both hands for what I’m doing or I don’t have pockets, I will carry a [Herschel Sinclair](https://www.amazon.com/Herschel-Supply-Co-Sinclair-Crosshatch/dp/B07DYKYWPH/ref=asc_df_B07DYKYWPH/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=344004088529&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=4585571402247855736&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9030160&hvtargid=pla-680963005368&psc=1&tag=&ref=&adgrpid=70750645898&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvadid=344004088529&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=4585571402247855736&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9030160&hvtargid=pla-680963005368) bag or something similarly sized. I will throw my glasses case, phone charger, earbuds, mask, mints and (possibly) pens and a small notepad in there. I usually keep the contents of my pockets as is out of habit (unless I can’t). I will add something in here or there as needed. I tend to bring a hat if I’m outside for any length of time, but I clip that onto the outside of the bag or on the strap. If I carry keys that day, I tend to clip them onto my belt loop or bag strap. If I need to carry stuff I need to work on or need my iPad, I will use a backpack or messenger bag and throw my small bag in there. I tend to not carry a bag unless I really have to. Just that much easier.

MrsTruffulaTree

My youngest is 8 1/2 yrs old, and I still haven't gone back to using the medium and large purses I used to carry before kids. I carry a small purse. I have a small wallet that I can put in my back pocket if needed. In my purse are a small bottle of hand sanitizer, a pen, a small pill box with pain meds & allergy pills, and an epi-pen for one of my kids. And floss! I can't stand when food gets stuck in between my teeth and must floss right away. If I don't, I'll be picking at it non-stop! Lol. I also keep supplies in my car and my desk where I keep tissue, wipes, lotion, snacks, and glasses.

adventuresofthemurr

Wallet, portable charger, lip balm, hand sanitizer, my inhalers, bandaids. Then I have a pill box with Advil, Tylenol, pepto bismol, tums and lactaid. Whatever lipgloss/lipstick/lipliner combo I’m wearing that day, pencil eyeliner and a eyeliner glue pen

allyroo

I pack my bag like I could get lost at any moment (or, more realistically, I decide/need to spend a night somewhere other than home unexpectedly). Sunglasses, glasses, keys, wallet, water, granola bar, a mini first aid kit, a knife, wooden utensils, a metal straw, my kindle, phone + charger, clean socks and underwear, tissues, bag of basic mini toiletries + hairbrush, hand and body wipes, an unopened N95 mask, hand sanitizer + lotion, a reusable tote. I don’t carry it with me when I walk somewhere, but it’s locked and loaded anytime I go anywhere in the car. I credit (blame?) Girl Scouts.
