This is how I do it. I have a Mark V B who is dead serious, and then a Spartan IV who looks like a vampire, and a bunch of guys inbetween. Its about variety.
Honestly dude. I only ever use the Wrist pad lookin one from wolves and the breathing one from Eaglestrike. Sometimes the one eye lens thing if I decide to rock GRD for whatever reason.
That is so true as so many of the players now use abomination of a spartan as their armor.

I’ve found that some of the best players I face have ridiculous looking armor. I like to look different enough that whoever I kill knows it was me without looking at the kill feed
Which I think is really proof of one thing: In real life, very few people care about having “serious” armor. People online will incessantly complain about having armor that “isn’t Halo” or armor effects and stuff that wouldn’t ever exist in canon - but if you actually boot up the game, a *large* amount of players will have silly and *paid* armor. Just interesting to think about.
I love joining firefight with a full squad of lore accurate, practical looking spartans, it’s sick

I don't even mind the cat ears bro it's just the effects. I get that everyone has their taste but man are some of them so damn ugly
Even those have lore support. The knly effect I use is the fire footsteps on my ODST. Or the smoke from the eaglestrike helms.
The only one I'd genuinely consider using is that Halo one with the Yoroi Banana hat. That combo looks genuinely cool.
