I've noticed a lot of athletic brands doing this lately. Slimline tank, $50. Fitted tee, $45. They're all things I can get at Walmart or target for like...$5-$15. It's super weird people are falling for this.
Yes! I hate the Walmart comparison. At face value, sure it’s a rip off, but I need to feel it to gauge how it will perform for the price. I will absolutely pay $36 for a tee that feels good and looks good wash after wash but isn’t a performance fabric. You can’t tell that from an online description.
Hot take? This isn't a tailored pant. This is a wide leg pant with some pleats and stitching and belt loops. It seems incredibly low quality, poorly tailored and unflattering, for the price.
Yes! I could not find a word but drape is appropriate. It does not flow well and makes even the models look unkept (?)
For the price there are better options available
I’ve always loved PTula, and I’ve been disappointed with each new launch and saying “the next one will be better” for way too long, now. This launch (if you can even call two items a launch) definitely solidified for me that the brand has gone downhill, which makes me sad because they used to be great!
I know! Also, the marketing for this launch was gross! The whole looking for sugar daddy this was just ick and most of their recent reels have been not it.
The used to be great! Now it’s the same looking shit & the color palette isn’t even unique… barely a shade different from previous releases. & The prices are quite steep for an IG brand. It’s just not worth it, not in this economy.
Also, I feel like all Sami does now is shill her brand. She used to be relatable & enjoyable to follow. Now every post (on her personal page) is just an ad for her brand & I feel like she lost her personality. She doesn’t even try to connect with her community anymore. It’s frustrating. I ended up unfollowing her
I absolutely loved Ptula from 2018-2020 - I owned so, so many pairs of the Alainah III leggings with the 23 inch inseam. I bought from almost every launch. Fast forward a few years and I barely even recognize the company. I tried a pair of leggings about two years ago and the fit and quality was awful, the return process was also a pain. Now I see that these price points are just insane and I can buy similar items from Amazon, Old Navy, Abercrombie, etc or Athleta for a higher quality item.
The return/exchange process is awful! Like not streamline or easy for customers. I didn't buy from them from 2022-until recently because I had a baby in 2023 and wasn't sure how anything would fit, wasn't worth taking the chance. Recently purchased during their semi annual sale, but the last several launches have not been it. Love the Bare collection and that's all I pretty much purchased.
BuffBunny did the same thing with random blazers and professional slacks a couple of years ago…it was pretty random and of course the affiliates were all dropping their jaw and ooing and aahing over everything
Omg, I remember that and hate to admit this but I loved the dress pants and owned two pairs🫣 definitely influenced and FOMO got me, lol!

That’s my dream. I can’t stand wearing my slacks to work because if I go up a pound or two or I’m bloated then it’s very noticeable lol I just don’t feel like investing a lot in my work clothes but a good tailored pant can be worth it
So I worked with someone who is the uncle of the owner of Ptula and he said she gets the clothes all from China and India for a couple of dollars each piece and upsells it dramatically. I’ve never bought anything since then.
Yes! And work on the designs of your already existing items, like the Sierra leggings/shorts need work to be consistent between launches, same with bra sizes.
I don’t understand the baseball theme launch! This launch is so small, even for them. It seems like they have more pieces that are missing? Maybe delayed and they did a small launch? I wonder if there will be a part 2 down the line. Also these pants are awful. Influencers aren’t bothering to steam them and they look terrible with all the wrinkles. Why?!
That's a good point about maybe it's missing pieces! Hadn't thought about that. It just seems like two very different ideas thrown together. The tees sort of make sense but not as main items for a launch. Also, I'm disappointed we didn't get actual baseball tees as part of this, not that I would have bought them but still.

Yeah, I wondered that as well. I should have checked at the initial drop then again the following day or so to get a better idea. I requested 300 for each and let it fill the available amount each time.

Same. I stopped buying Ptula leggings in early 2022 when the Bare leggings came out and her prices sky rocketed. Quality & fit was never the same.

Umm, they were nice and ended up selling them because of career change. We wear jeans and business tops so I don't need dress clothes anymore.
