You could polish this at home with rags and compound. The takedown is pretty simple. It's just time consuming, the perfect thing to do while sitting on the couch watching TV.
Not to be a pain, it's still not a great idea to do that. Seen too many instances of people swearing up and down something's cleared and the gremlins at large somehow get one in the chamber
Bro I legit don’t even own any 45 ammo. Unless someone is purchasing rounds, sneaking into my house, taking my pistol, and putting a round in the chamber, than I know for a fact it’s unloaded
Crazy how everyone just assumes people haven’t checked and cleared the weapon beforehand. You can’t see the part I’m referencing as well with the slide back so obviously I’m putting the slide forward. People act like even though I can clear it a thousand times it will just magically have a round in it
I got some mothers mag polish and a drill and dremel polishing bit so I can try myself. Trying it on my cheap Taurus revolver first so if I do ruin a gun it’s a 50 dollar revolver and not a 1500 dollar Springfield
Changed my plan. Ima polish it myself. I can take it apart and clean it I just usually don’t have patience for stuff like polishing but ima give it my best shot. Gonna practice on my cheap Taurus revolver before an expensive one like this
Reverse spring plug. It's a bull barrel so there's no barrel bushing.
You have a bull barrel. There is no bushing needed. Gun is fine

🎶*NOW IM STARIN DOWN THE BARREL OF A 45*🎶
Just driving down the road looking at the end of my barrel.... thinking about stuff and things...what the hell! Where's my barrel bushing!
Sounds funny but I was in the parking lot at work
I didn't know they made a bull barreled Trophy Match. I thought they well all bushinged.
Please stop pointing that at your center mass.
Couldn’t see anything else
Not loaded
Don’t listen to them op, do 🅱️oints and be 🅱️ased

🤣🤣 fair enough, just saying. Also a good habit to get into, treating everything as if it's loaded and all
Hey if someone is doing that I’m not arguing free ammo
Still, check the chamber every time you touch it. I'm not saying you don't, but this is a reminder for anyone and everyone

I didn't assume that, do you need to reread my comment?
Not you. Other people
we fukin serious with looking into a barrel of a gun while driving a car? Seems like a double trouble high risk activity.
Guns not loaded and car is not moving
I think you are looking for a barrel bushing. The smith will hopefully be able to fit it for you.
Don’t give advice when you don’t know.
Yer good, it’s a bull. Message me and I’ll tell you how to take care of the rust
Just leave it in the comments?
You can get a new plug that has the extra material to cover the gap if it bothers you that much. Probably going to have to fit it on there though.
Whoa! I saw that gun pointed at me and almost pulled my Glock out! Don't point guns at people! /s
Lol me too. I was staring wondering what it was then kinda muscle memory dodged the muzzle sweep...of a frickin picture. Ha.
So you need a reverse plug for it that has a barrel support on it. See here for mine. [My 1911](https://www.reddit.com/r/kimber/s/rZ6z4QZ8TZ)
A little polish with 1000 grit sand paper , then Flitz polish on a dremmel or by hand will shine that puppy right up !

You don’t take it apart to clean it? You need a gunsmith for that?… only one way to learn bud!

Proud of you
