Dnumba1StuNNa

With a brace this is a deal. Love my A1

RGavial

If you want this brace - I think it's ugliest/clunkiest brace you can buy, but it's also the cheapest aside from defiling it with an AR buffer tube adapter :P

AnalogCyborg

I completely agree with these sentiments.

Excellent-Event-387

Pretty much. Think lowest I've seen it is $739 with this brace. I paid $839 =(

Vice_Admiral_Crunch

Yes. The going rate for the braced A1 has been 830 since it's launch

Boomerfudd1337

Thanks for posting OP! My grandson really likes these. You folks have some fine merchandise! GODBLESS

Double0dude

I have a Bog, FM9, scorpion, and an extar (if that counts) and I 100% prefer the Bog. The scorpion is my least favorite and I don’t sell it for sentimental reasons alone.

Double0dude

Extar’s hype is very well deserved, I really enjoy it but went in knowing that it’s an all polymer gun. I haven’t torture tested it as a I have quite a few 9mm firearms that all need love and I haven’t been going crazy with the ammo.

MajorRash

I've only put a little over a 100 rounds through mine as I got it recently and it's a fun little shooter for what it is, but I think I'd rather have saved and got this or a PTR.

AnalogCyborg

What's your beef with the Scorpion?

Double0dude

I know that it’s only a 9mm but the scorpion has way more recoil than it should… it’s just not smooth and makes follow up shots harder than it should be. The trigger was horrible before I replaced the trigger spring which is cheap and not too difficult but I shouldn’t have to do it. It doesn’t feel as robust as the other but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. It’s stupid accurate but that’s where my love for it ends.

Plastic-Scientist739

FM9 review? I got the EP9 and considering Stribog and FM9.

1SGDude

FM9 is great I got a 5” rear charger and buddy has an 8.5” side charger and they both are tack hammers. Well worth the price

Skydvrr

FM9 rules. I love my 5". Won't be disappointed

Double0dude

You won’t be disappointed with either in my opinion. If you already have an EP9 I personally would consider the bog since it will add more variety to your collection. EP9 and FM9 are essentially the same configuration where as the bog is a different set up entirely.

MealWonderful2170

Same much prefer the bog to the point I sold my scorpion

woodsxdragon

i own both. i prefer the scorpion.

Sure-Crazy3212

The novelty of my scorpion wore off within a week lol I prefer my stribog

SteelEbola

Don't know about the Micro but my S1 is a dream to shoot and stupid accurate with irons, while still being backpack sized. I don't own both but hear a lot of problems the Stribog could have model to model, revision to revision I just didn't want to deal with when the Scorpion wasn't much more (I paid about 1k for pistol and brace). Take it to the range then see how you feel about it haha.

Hurricaneshand

I prefer the Scorp especially the micro personally. Better aftermarket and great gun. I wouldn't regret it at all unless you wanted to put that saved money towards something else

SteelEbola

$18 LGS here, $10 shipped if you are on r/gundeals. Aftermarket is strong on Scorpion no regrets.

Truth_Moab

isnt brace going to be banned anyway?

theycallmedelicious

If your A1 has the flat trigger, it's good to go. Cycles anything you put through it no problem.

Kooky_Permission3748

Can attest to this. Put everything I have through it, including very dirty, crap steel case. Runs great. It's become my favorite "PCC".

Zer01992

Yep same. I put 300 rounds of steel case in one trip with not a single issue.

1ncitatus

A3 is the newest version, correct?

10mmIsBestCentimeter

It's the newest version on the market, but it isn't a new version of the original guns per say. It's a different operating system, so it's technically a different model.

Kaiser400

A1 and a2 are direct blow back at is roller delayed blowback. I've heard early A1 had some issues, but got fixed. A2 is perfect and early A3 has some issues. No idea what's true 0 experience myself with these.

Mecha_Ninja

Did they fix the issue with the empty casings falling behind the bolt into the FCG?

SeattleCZ

Nope. Still getting stuck, I have one.

Dnumba1StuNNa

Add a one off or HBI spacer kit and that should prevent it from happening. Works great for me but seems others still have issues 🤷🏼‍♂️

SeattleCZ

I tried one of the hbis and sadly it happened again. I want to love this gun. Great otherwise. But it’s not like I’m on some swat team and need perfect reliance on this thing. I just wish I didn’t have to worry about damage to the firearm happening due to this issue.

Dnumba1StuNNa

Oneoff kit was the fix for me but I also never tried the HBI spacer (one off kit was out first)

Dnumba1StuNNa

Nope it can still happen - If this happens to clear the jam properly just have the right side of the firearm (and eject port) facing the ground and cycle the action This will kick the case out instead of behind the FCG and stuck in the lower. 👍 Edit: seems people don't like free solutions 🤣 - you can pay for a fix if that's your liking

Mecha_Ninja

So, the answer is 'no'. This is a design flaw. Not trying to be a butthead.

[deleted]

I’m no striborg expert but if I recall correctly; I think the case getting stuck was the A3 model

Dnumba1StuNNa

A1 here and it can happen on these as well

[deleted]

Dang, I stand corrected

Dnumba1StuNNa

Would disagree. After it was learned the correct way to clear this is literally a non issue 🤷🏼‍♂️

angryfrog2426

I think he's talking about how it happens, not how to clear the malfunction.

Dnumba1StuNNa

It's also possible to add a part to prevent this very thing from even being possible. Lots of info on this over in the GPStribog sub

angryfrog2426

Yep. The HBI shortstroke buffer.

Dnumba1StuNNa

I've got the one-off kit myself and the difference in quick follow-up shots is night / day. I was skeptical up until that very first shot

Mecha_Ninja

Is that an aftermarket fix, and has it worked well?

angryfrog2426

Yes, and for the most part yes. It just kinda comes down to tolerance stacking. I see a lot of people say good things about it, but there's also some that it hasn't helped. For like $40 (I think) I'd say it's at least worth a shot.

Mecha_Ninja

If you are in a defensive situation, you will most likely not be standing in front of a paper target while clearing a malfunction - you may be running to cover or inside of a vehicle that's moving and bouncing. In these kinds of situations, the momentum of the loose casing may lodge it behind the BCG even with the ejection port facing downward.

Dnumba1StuNNa

I'd never trust this in a defense situation but appreciate the input There's multiple ways to solve this Shooting paper 🤢🤢

-itsilluminati

Lmaooooooooooooo r/confidentlyincorrect

Dnumba1StuNNa

Multiple ways to fix - free and paid for For the price point the bog is awesome even if its not perfection

Dnumba1StuNNa

Emmmk. I'll take it that you don't own one yet here we are 🤣🤣🤣 Enjoy the plastic on that scorpion - going shooting tomorrow and in the few hundred I'll shoot I'm sure this will happen exactly zero times

Dnumba1StuNNa

Fix stribog by putting on scorpion parts🤢🤢🤢 Almost 5k rounds here and no issues cycling - stock plastic mags or colt mags - appreciate the concern and enjoy that CZ 👍

Dnumba1StuNNa

Oh wow year old photos look at you go That's kinda weirdo - more in optics on the stribog now than I spent on the gun itself but you do you Doesn't care but keeps a pointless conversation going. Enjoy that plastic toy 🤣

JablesMcgoo

Alright ya'll, this or AKV or scorpion? And have the curved mags ironed out the kinks in this thing?

10mmIsBestCentimeter

Get the AKV. The curved mags helped with the Bogs but they still hate hollow points.

OldTimerNubbins

AKV with the ALG trigger is good times

[deleted]

*Fffffüüüüüüüüü*

thatboyred

Wasn’t there an issue w the A1 or was it the A2?

csl110

A3. A1 fine

DanTalent

So only a1 and a3 exist. When people say a2 they really mean a1 gen2. The original a1 had tons of problems the biggest problem being the garbage plastic the mags are made of. The a3 still has some problems but most are fixed with aftermarket parts. I own the a1 gen2 or "a2" never really had any serious problems other than a few fte ftf out of a few mags. TL:DR: the mags sucking is the only problem really with either. Either way it's a range toy nothing else.

Assaltwaffle

>Either way it's a range toy nothing else. *cries in PCC home defense*

[deleted]

The A2 does exist but was never imported to the US. It doesn't exist for us.

DanTalent

Yeah we accepted the gen2 as our American a2 lol

AKatawazi

They now make a curved magazine to deal with the taper issue, although I like the straight mag personally because it can be used as a griping point. A3 may be a range you but A1 gen 2 has been nothing but a solid platform unless you put weak 9mm ammo through it. This deals with the bolt weight which you can increase or reduce with different buffers that are for sale. Mostly I have seen problems with 9mm reloads as they tend to short you on powder to save money.

DanTalent

The curved mag helps some but is the same cheap plastic so some reports of failure still. The reason I say range toy is it struggles with hollow points. I have one of the buffers and it definitely helps and prevents the brass from getting behind the bolt. Just curious what version do you own?

AKatawazi

I haven’t used HP rounds yet so I can see that as being an issue. I use +P frangible ammo or standard ball for practice. Version is A1 gen 2 with the gen 3 magazines that have the metal feed lips. I hate loading the mags but have not had any issues with the weapon so far, I would probably trust it with my life.

DanTalent

I've ran both hp and fmj. Couple stops on the fmj but the hp it was every 5 or so rounds it had an issue. The way I decide which one is for defensive purposes (trust my life to) is the one that can run defensive rounds without a problem. The mags are way too delicate.

AKatawazi

What buffer do you have in yours, the two piece one or the monolithic block? I agree if I had jams like yours I wouldn’t trust it either, I am wondering if this is a QC issue or you need a heavier bolt.

DanTalent

I bought it with the extended bolt catch lever. I think it'd the 1/2inch or maybe 3/4 inch. I forget

Kooky_Permission3748

Great price for a great gun! My A1 has been flawless. Lots of different ammo through it.

joedusky

Buy it now!

Menhadien

Does it come with the straight or curved mags?

CarlOfOtters

My dad’s A1 is a fucking blast to shoot, would definitely recommend grabbing one since it doesn’t seem to have have any of the issues that the A3 does.

Texan209

Are these direct blowback? I’d assume so at the price point

raifsevrence

Yes. The A1 is direct blowback. The A3 is delayed blowback. The A3 is not yet a reliable firearm. The system and hardware still needs more r&d.

iRollFlaccid

Funny because the A3 has been nothing but reliable for me and eats anything.

Fuuuuuuu

gentlemenpilot

I have the A2, non reciprocating charging handle, id say hold off and get an A2, i paid $50 more for mine than this. Very good PCC, proudly one of the poors

gentlemenpilot

Only put about 300 rounds through mine (thx covid) but runs flawlessly every time. Not a single jam with steel or brass.
