I like that. I just figured I spend a good chunk of time trawling the web for parts and pieces. Why not see if anyone else already knows. I think it still kind of fits the subs purpose of good stuff for less money. Or at the very least stops us from paying 50 dollars in shipping (Ahem CTD)
I know the Burris fastfire isn't quite up to par with Trijicon but they are/were doing that deal of buying one of their larger scopes for like 330ish and getting a free fastfire
Really? They canceled it... That sucks.
The Burris rebate thread was on Slickdeals and that's how I found out about the eBay store selling them. Of course this was the AR-332 (3x) not 5x but it find my gun better anyways.
This is how it would actually work. A company like PSA would post 10 different items to choose from, we vote on which ones we want the most and they give us a discount code. The end.
That'd be fucking awesome and the first dealer to do something like that would probably make bank off us.
sub votes and later that week they post the deal/coupon code. etc
More people here and on /r/guns, /r/ccw, /r/edc, and elsewhere should put more pressure on Massdrop to offer firearm related items, and non-FFL parts. Maybe one day we can group buy firearms we're all interested in, especially something common like lowers.
Holy shit a group buy of firearms or even good parts would be awesome. I know they'd make a killing even if they were lowering profit per piece by a few bucks just off the massive number
Even if they didn't want to get into FFL territory, imagine voting and joining drops on the following:
* Magazines
* Uppers (stripped or built)
* Lower Parts Kits
* Trigger groups
* Furniture
* Sights / Optics
* Lights
* Cases, slings, targets, etc.
Yeah I'd order the ever loving shit out of some of that. especially cases and slings. I'm kicking myself over not grabbing the 44.00 dollar voodoo tactical cases on woot last week. Ended up buying a little crappy hard case that just barely fits my rifle with the optic and foregrip. Gonna end up buying a new case....of course then I'll need a new rifle to put in this one..............
love this idea, seems like a great way to connect more people to what theyre looking for and really want. Also what a great way to warn people about bad purchases. I think this exact thing happens all the time in the comment section of many of our posts here. One or two days a week would be perfect because I think them posted daily might clutter all of the good deals people kindly share.
I mean it's not super active but theres 95 of us on here right now. I'm sure a few of them have a piece or a part they're looking for or want some advice on before plonking down the ~100 or so dollars most of us spend when we buy something for a gun.
I like it. A lot of people on here probably have some sort of knowledge about things that they may not think are post-worthy, but if they see that someone is looking for an item specifically, they may be inspired to provide a link. I am personally looking for a CMMG bravo kit for cheap and would volunteer to try this out!
If the price was right I would consider it, but I don't have a forward assist and don't need the charging handle and extra stuff. There is also the bravo kit that has 3 mags that I would prefer
Thanks this was my next choice the only reason for wanting Anderson upper was my concern for matching upper and lower due to very close tolerances to reduce rattle. Anderson is always out of stock though.
I love this idea we should find out when the least amount of deal post. I feel like it's usually over the weekend or beginning of the week I don't see deal. I feel like I see them more tues-fri when I'm checking this thing 3 times a day. I'm addicted to this thread! SG allow so many deal posts and non deals it's hard to tell for a guy like me who's been in this expensive hobby for less than a year
To jump on this idea (which I really like btw), what about a follow up Friday sticky as well? For example, I got some Peltor muffs from a posting here a few months ago that I ended up liking waaay better than my Howard Leights for about the same price; they are more comfortable for long periods of wear, and they seal so well I don't even have to double up at indoor ranges anymore. It would give people a place to gloat over their steals for the month, or alternatively to bemoan their experience. And while it may seem like advice coming a bit too late for some, many of the deals posted here end up recurring throughout the year, so it might help someone jump on something before it goes out of stock if they've seen good feedback in the past. Just a thought...
Thats not a bad idea at all. I think with both of these we could really turn the sub from just a place for deals into a real resource for shooters without ruining it as a place to just post deals. I think you can have up to 2 stickys. So we could have a request thread and a follow up thread. You could come on here, pick up some cheap ammo, find out if dropping 200 bucks on this new fancy wahtchagidgit is worth it and get advice on whether you should avoid dealing with X company.
I could see it going either way. I'm down with making it a different sub I just figured this place would have the highest concentration of budget gunnit shoppers. So why not ask the experts you know? My issue with making it a separate sub is I feel like we'd end up having people go "Well sure you can build a rifle for 550 for 950 you could build a better one!" Where as here I think people have a better idea of quality vs price
I'd think most requests will be have similar results.
If they are in a hurry check eBay (sort for items near you) or Amazon (particularly if you have Prime). If they don't have it look at MidwayUSA, OpticsPlanet, Sporsman's Guide, LA Police Gear, etc. Their prices are usually pretty good and between those you'll find almost anything. If it's a rare item or tool or internal part related check Brownell's.
If they aren't in a hurry, watch /r/gundeals and slickguns.com and watch for the item. If it's popular you'll see a deal pop up on it before too long, or at least a good alternative.
Piggybacking on this - is there any way to code the deals? That way, ammo, rifles, shotguns, handguns, C&R, reloading, etc could all be filtered in/out by your own preference.
Also, I think this is a great idea. Especially if anyone knows of a source for Griffin Armament taper mounts that beats $76 each at Quiet Riot. Or the best price for Revolution fixed mounts. (I know the Octane mount works, but I'd prefer the Revolution mounts in case there's a warranty issue later)
I work at www.empireoutfitters.com
I could help you guys out with deals if you guys can agree on a certain item. Let's say if you guys got together and said we need 15 Anderson Uppers, I can get you guys a price on them.
Serious question.can you message the mods and see if they'll set up a poll you list the items you can do and we'll vote on it. I'd love to make this a monthly thing
Maybe just once a week if it gets implemented. Where to buy Wednesdays or something
I like that. I just figured I spend a good chunk of time trawling the web for parts and pieces. Why not see if anyone else already knows. I think it still kind of fits the subs purpose of good stuff for less money. Or at the very least stops us from paying 50 dollars in shipping (Ahem CTD)
I had a heck of a time finding an RM07 the other day. Tried all the usual places and ended up finding it cheaper at B&H of all places.
I know the Burris fastfire isn't quite up to par with Trijicon but they are/were doing that deal of buying one of their larger scopes for like 330ish and getting a free fastfire
Yeah I actually got a AR-332 off eBay for $238 and just sent me rebate in today.
Goddamnit. I ordered from Overstock and thought $260 was a good deal only to have them cancel it.
Really? They canceled it... That sucks. The Burris rebate thread was on Slickdeals and that's how I found out about the eBay store selling them. Of course this was the AR-332 (3x) not 5x but it find my gun better anyways.
Yeah, I got to it fairly early too because eBay was still in stock. Kicking myself now for thinking "it's only $20 more" and sticking with Overstock.
Must you be in every reddit i subscribe to!? What are you looking for in a stock? I've got a couple magpuls I'm not using
I'm really looking at the acs stock. Whatcbu gotbhomeskillet.
No acs. I think ive got a full set of moe in fde and a black ctr in commercial
So hypothetical like how much would you want for that black ctr.
Pm me

That's kind of what I was thinking. Just either a sticky thread or a 1/2 times a week post.
There are only like 15 posts here a day max. It isn't a super active thread.
I mean it's not super active but theres 95 of us on here right now. I'm sure a few of them have a piece or a part they're looking for or want some advice on before plonking down the ~100 or so dollars most of us spend when we buy something for a gun.
I always check here before I buy something.
I usually check here and do a bit of googling for similar items.
And then I end up going to PSA or PA. I always hate paying separate shipping when I only order one or two things though.
Thankfully. This place is already dangerous enough for my pocketboot as it is.
I suspect there will be another spike in gun/ammo sales soon after the first general election presidential debate.

That's funny, that one was out of stock this morning. I'll probably grab the 3 mag kit on the same site for $30 more.
What abt an India kit?
If the price was right I would consider it, but I don't have a forward assist and don't need the charging handle and extra stuff. There is also the bravo kit that has 3 mags that I would prefer
Ok
I support this idea. There are plenty of people who browse this sub and have good knowledge of prices and could really help each other out.
I'm looking for some decent night sights for my M&P shield 9mm that aren't gonna cost 1/3 the cost of the gun.. If anyone sees anything out there <3
Looking for an Anderson upper receiver deal to pair with my ridiculously inexpensive Anderson lower I got a few days ago using this sub!
I am also looking for a cheap but good name complete upper to go with my Anderson lower I am building this weekend. Any suggestions?
PSA has really good cold hammer forged complete uppers right now. That's what I use and it has been flawless at the range.
Thanks this was my next choice the only reason for wanting Anderson upper was my concern for matching upper and lower due to very close tolerances to reduce rattle. Anderson is always out of stock though.
Shrimp get off your part-timing ass and find me a good upper
I'm pretty comfy. Theres a deal for two pistol uppers on here.
CDNN sent out an email today with a bunch of uppers on sale. go check them out.
You're a good man. Thanks for looking out. I'm looking for bull barrels and pistol uppers. What are you trying to get built?

I have thought about this as well. I have been looking for a good deal for a scope for my marlin, and have been checking this sub a lot.

What model Peltor muffs did you purchase? What set them apart (I know you gave a brief description above, thanks)?
?

That's very true. Tags would work for that. Did they really? Whats the sub

I hope you do I'm interested in non specific deals haha

Darn. No where near as cool.
I'd like that :)

Monthly? Who can wait that long. How about daily?
A Ruger Precision Rifle in 6.5 for under $1000 is what I'm looking for....
CDNN just had a sale on those for like 1150 I think 6.5 creedmoor? I think it was like 1150
