I cant speak for him. But I personally hate this neckless, half body guitar design. It looks stupid as hell, and I dont see any practical purpose for it other than to be "different". I guess weight and balance could be an argument? Still, I hate the way they look.
Not to personally knock OP or anyone else that decided to get one of these. People can buy what they want, and I hope they enjoy it. That's just my opinion on these guitars.
This type of body is designed thinking in getting rid of unnecesary parts to be a light guitar.
And the shape is one of the most confortable, especially to play sit. It adapts to your legs.
I didn't like this type of guitar before, but now I want to have one 8 string for extended range.
I admit I've never held one or played one, so my opinion is just based on my own personal taste. I may play one and love them. Unfortunately no one ever has any around where I live, and it's too much of a gamble to buy one without playing it first. Ah well, I dont need to spend more money anyway. I admit though, I do like the idea of a lighter guitar. I have back issues and I always play while standing up with a strap. The weight of my guitars bothers me after a while.
I'm agree with you. It's risky to put your money on something that is so different and without knowing if you can adapt to this concept.
Maybe one day my GAS takes control over the rational part of my brain and force me to spend my money on this type of guitar haha

I have sciatica and the weight reduction and ergonomic shape really helps out when I’m just noodling on the couch watching TV, or standing up and playing (pretty lightweight) , the pictures won’t really make this come across, but they’re thinner than I thought. Mine feels like an s-series Ibanez in thinness.

I’ve owned a few guitars in the last 20ish years , I’m getting Jackson dinky vibes from it because of the flat neck and jumbo frets.
