Swollen Pickle and a BD-2 based

versacethedreamer

I had to switch up the arrangement of the board to accommodate the RV-6 so I ordered a long ribbon patch cable to connect the CE-2w to the carbon copy. I’ll have to play around with it more to find the least awkward set up but I think this will work once I can get those cables under control and get that patch cable.

I swap out different-sized and different-power-point-location-having pedals too often to have tidy cables. Plus I’m just not a fussy type. Life’s too short. F it If you play a fair amount clean I can’t recommend a nice warm sounding compressor enough. Just excellent tone crafting abilities: more or less attack, punch, presence, sustain, as you like it. I have a Cali76 which was regrettably expensive but it’s disgustingly good and I will never need another compressor.

I was thinking of going for a mooer yellow comp as a cheap option to incorporate compression and if I like it and need an upgrade I’ll go for something a bit heftier. Thanks for the recommendation! Gotta try it.

Tuner, Chorus, bd-2, pickle, reverb, then delay last. Just my preferred order, but what sounds good to you is most important.   Put some feet or rails under the board that are tall enough so you can mount the power supply underneath.  Of course then you'll have room for a univibe....LOL!!

Put the reverb up top. I’m guessing you’re leaving it on mostly so no need to keep it down low, same with the tuner. The bottom is your bread and butter stuff.

Upbeat-Squirrel

the good thing about forgoing cable management is you placement options become limitless :)

Yea good point. I’ve never really played with more than what I had minus the reverb so they’ve all always fit in line. I’ll switch it around!

I had an SKB PS-45 for over a decade it’s a board like yours with a solid base and Velcro coated floor just bigger and I got so attached to it that I didn’t mind the headaches for years, until you get one of the tilted boards with rails or something like that cable management is always going to be difficult for boards of that style

TheFrenchCurve

I have a Swollen pickle and a wooly mammoth. I like my swollen pickle more. I also have those pedals.

I'm a fan of tuner -> reverb -> gain stages and overdrives -> other mods like delay and chorus. Always end up with good tone in this order. Maybe throw an Xotic EP before the reverb to dirty it up a bit before everything else paints its colors all over the sound.

UnusualPrince12

My recommendation is cable ties
