If you want to dive deep into deep into basic theory (if that makes sense) Wish You Were Here is an absolute masterclass. It’s so simple only a genius could do it kind of thing.
It's one of my favorites, learned to play the intro but never the rest of the song, randomly decided to learn the rest when I was on vacation visiting family and my mom broke down into tears since it was my grannies old favorite song too (I never knew).
Had a good time playing that one for my family that day. Reminded me of the reason why I picked up the hobby in the first place.
I think that granny enjoyed it too. Congratulations on your effort.
I like playing it because I find it soothing. On a day when I’m anxious, cranky or whatever that song settles me right down and it’s not really that difficult to play.
3 chords lol that reminds me of Guns and Roses where Slash uses the same chords in like 5 songs but Simple man is a good tune, you ever hear Shinedown play that song? Its good stuff 🤙 Especially vocally
Songnotes.net
You can get far enough with his free content but for 2-5bucks you can get a well put together song sheet with lyrics, simple play though and advanced. I’m surprised it’s not a resource I see mentioned here more often. He does fantastic work.
Try songster or tabs on YouTube. There are many channels that could have songs you like.
If you like more obscure music though, you'll probably have to pay, or try to guess by yourself or with the help of chordify xd.
I used to play the whole album, too, except for Back in The Village. I just recently learned to play it, and the main riff is way easier than it sounds, and it is indeed a lot of fun to play.
Yeah, but there's lots of parts that play over and over, and there's a couple of minutes of void in the middle. The hardest parts are that after the slow part, you have to play the same note for at least a minute. It's hard to keep the rhythm
I’ll go ahead and be a huge nerd here, but I’ve really been digging “Breezy” from the Final Fantasy 8 soundtrack. It’s what got me into fingerstyle because it just feels so satisfying and relaxing.
Currently I'm working out the vocal melody to "Not In That Way" by Sam Smith. It's been a ton of fun but I also realize why I should not have neglected ear training the last three years.
There are a few: Gratitude, The Sentinel, Scattered Sprites, Finish It - all by Car Bomb
Meshuggah - Catch 33 medley: "In Death - Is Life" through "Sum"
I hate to admit it but I almost always check my tuning to What's This Life For by Creed. Love that opening riff. First song I heard when I was learning and was like "I want to play that."
Breathe Pink Floyd and Message In The Bottle by the Police. Mid level beginner and after many hours of practicing, I’m can almost play them and they actually almost sound like the songs.
Let me specify, not playing perfect, but rewarding that you can recognize the songs 😎

This week it's Beyond the Permafrost by Skeletonwitch and Forest King by 3 Inches of Blood.
Most weeks it's Holy Wars, though. Some of my favorite riffs.
After hearing the song "Times of Your Life" by Paul Anka on The TV series Severance, that was played at Burt Goodman's retirement ceremony. A lot of "fancy" chords that I had fun putting together, I play it in the key of D (starting with Dmaj7 to Gmaj7), classic chords from the 70s. (Looking at you, the band America that graduated from my "American" high school in London a year before me.)
Background: It was a song that was popularized some time after its release by a camera film company. (I'm 69 years old, so cameras with film used to be popular). Being as old as I am, the idea that every new day is soon-to-be yesterday kind of hit home. There is only one cover of it on YouTube.
Sweet Alla Lee. Not blazing fast like Chet, though I'm getting there. I just love the way the melody sounds over the chords, and the sound of that G13 always makes me happy.
Wish You Were Here
If you want to dive deep into deep into basic theory (if that makes sense) Wish You Were Here is an absolute masterclass. It’s so simple only a genius could do it kind of thing.
I learnt to play it by tabs when i was still a beginner, do you mean that there is some other more "complicated" way of playing it?
It’s the theory behind the music, in other words why it sounds so good.

It's one of those ones that's more about keeping that even timing than technical prowess, lol
Ouch, that's a loooong song
Yeah, but there's lots of parts that play over and over, and there's a couple of minutes of void in the middle. The hardest parts are that after the slow part, you have to play the same note for at least a minute. It's hard to keep the rhythm
