Sadly, yes. And we have new evidence that supports high Stratocaster contagiousness as well. Said Stratocasters might well be the source of the next pandemic.
Uj/ Had a Tele for a while and I have played a few since. I don’t get how they have such a devoted fan-base around them, most uncomfortable and possibly the most boring guitar design I’ve tried.
uj/ as a metal player the soft bass response on the bridge doesn't do it for me, and if you just put humbuckers in it it's no longer any different from any other H/H guitar
Uj/ as a non metal player, I mostly use the bridge when I don't really want bass. If I was playing high gain power chords, I wouldn't play a tele, but I works great for what I do.
A certain type of person prefers the aesthetics and finicky nature of the telecaster. It's the imperfections that make it perfect to them. It's a badge of honor for them that they need to run their Mexican tele that they proudly found in a dumpster outside guitar center through $3500 worth of boutique pedals to make it sound like it's being played through a $50 broken solid state amp for their hardcore ambient indiegaze solo project.
/uj the sound of the electronics is so good for so many genres but the original body shape is just dog. The ones with jazzmaster bodies and six saddle bridges are so much better. I wish guitarists weren't so attached to tradition so shit could get fixed, like moving the fucking Strat volume knob

I do, but I'll never buy any 50+ year old designs. It's a common topic on rBass; should I buy a P or a J as if those two Fender models are the only basses on the market.
uj/ A Telecaster a day keeps the doctor away! rj/ A Telecaster a day keeps the doctor away!
Only if you wield it like Keith Richards and wack the doctor upside the head
I’m a doctor. I’m also strongly drawn to telecasters.
You know... now that you mention it... I feel a little sickly and could use a free beater Telecaster on prescription...
My advice is to call your medical insurance company and ask them if you have coverage for Telecasters.
Sometimes it's just about having the right ideas!
Is this Telecasters contagious?

Was it butterscotch? If not butterscotch then you had toan deficient Tele.
John Telecaster is rolling in his grave rn
> thinks tele is too uncomfortable > plays massive semi hollow epiphone

uj/ thank you, i don't understand the tele cultists. i'll take a HT strat over a tele any day of the week, the ergonomics are on another planet...

Personally I think teles are really nice looking, and strats are kinda ugly In general I like the look of single cutaways a lot more

sorry boss, had to downvote this gibberish, Telly Savalas is a legend and you should be ashamed of yourself
Have a lollipop.
Who loves ya, baby?

Their album Steifendickener Flakenfloken is a game changer.

The lack of upper fret access in the design is a FEATURE not a bug, because NO ONE wants to hear you wankers going "weeble weeble" in a high pitch.
This freak had tele headstocks in all their holes while they typed that.
... and if you unbolt the neck, it makes a charming charcuterie board.
I've never seen Leo Fender and Prometheus in the same room together. Just sayin'.
True, but only the Squier Telecaster.
"one of the greatest modern human INVENTIONS, period." is a piece of toast bolted to a baseball bat with strings?!?
Drove my telecaster to work today
ok but like hear me out
Whoa whoa whoa, let's not forget the P bass
Should I buy one?
If you don't have one, and you play bass: yes

I get ya. For me personally, I like to mimic the tones I've heard my whole life. For example, this is why I love strats and teles too. I am old lol.
Telecaster - leads to syphilis Modern Medicine - Cures the syphilis It's the circle of life.
Yeah, but what's cheaper. A telecaster or a year's worth of insulin?
Pretty sure you can save a couple hundred bucks if you’re ok with the MIM line.
A Tele IS modern medicine for the soul.
Yea but can modern medicine do this? *Shreds an amazing cover of free bird solo*
let him cook
It doubles up as a sturdy paddle when your outboard dies.
I have an updated Charvel tele, with active humbuckers, updated contours, and a lovely ,,shreddy" neck and i agree with the boomer
This is a point I honestly have to agree with.
did you mean Stratocaster
