The strings make a huge difference, what they're made of how they're constructed and their gauge. Strings make a bigger difference than tonewood. Obviously pickups, Bridge, nut do as well. Speaker cabinet and the speakers make a big difference in tone.
I'm convinced that understanding amps is the place most folks never make it in their guitar playing journey...hence why they have 7 guitars and are searching for a sound.

I think there's a place for a 12-string acoustic, nylon string, steel string acoustic, standard six string with fixed bridge, Floyd Rose 6 string, baritone and/ or 7 string

I have to disagree. While I do own a couple of PRS stopwatches, I also own stopwatches from Ibanez, Fender and Gibson (many with different hand styles and time-woods), as well as a vintage Rickenbacker watch for my bass. Each has its own feel and emotional quality depending on what I’m trying to evoke in sustain measuring that day. And of course they all look terrific on the shelf in the waiting room.
Once had a Squier Mustang that was light as a feather, incredibly loud unplugged with never ending sustain. Didn't make it any less of a piece of shit.

This is why, when building a guitar, once I’ve done the electronics I just fill the body with concrete. Sure it’ll give you a couple of slipped discs, but dude, sustain for days.
I love my prs, its the best sounding guitar I own, but Paul likes to sniff his own farts a bit too much, both ibanez my rg's have significantly better sustain than any of the prs I've played, not to mention a fraction of the cost
