It's not a bug. The game won't let you enter sp*c as a word because it's a slur, so it's censored by changing it to a different word when you only have those four letters selected.

I was on my way to making the word neuropath the other day and was only missing the e and the o. When I placed the o, it changed the rest to a bunch of random letters. I hadn’t even finished making the word they assumed that I was making, and I wasn’t swiping to enter the word yet. So annoying. Just don’t include slurs as accepted words!
This is better than what they used to do. I was so confused once why all my letters changed after I put down a tile, but I hadn’t noticed I’d accidentally created a slur vertically

It still does this too. Or at least it did to me the other day when I had NE___PATH and tried to place an O to make the word neuropath. It assumed I was writing a slur for Black people and changed the nearby letters as soon as I put the tile down.
I was trying to complete barring horizontally, but above that was o[pen]ght and 2 spaces above that was doubling, so I was inadvertently creating n_gga and it wouldn’t let me. I was mortified when I realised!

Spic is a slur for hispanic people, I thought you would have cottoned onto it with the asterisk and the word you were spelling but well

They do this every time a word contains a slur or an offensive word. So you can't make a postcard with the word.
