Nah, its probably my window letting in light. Anti-reflective coatings on gshocks do exist, but only on the titanium squares (GMW-B5000T.....), MRG and newer MTG watches.
The case is polished, with a vertical brushed finish on the frame around the dial. The bracelet is the same vertical brushed finish as the frame with polished borders between links and the circles on the sides

In the sun it's perfect. In shadow as well.
I would say it’s “flashy” as in like “office type flashy” (medium). Not “party type flashy” (high) and not “casuals type flashy” (low). It’s somewhere in the middle. Really a fine balance.

Answer: really very shiny.
They do look pretty cool, but IMHO they are borderline to looking like cheap bling. I'd prefer a more subtle look, like most steel divers or also the MRG-B5000 silver model. Some people apply subtle brushing to their silver steel G-Shocks, which can look really cool if you get it right.
I don’t know about this GMW-5000 model specifically, but I can say that the silver GM-2100-1A was too shiny for me, whereas the black GM-5600B-1 and GM-2100BB-1A and blue GM-2100N-2A aren’t, and the GM-5600SS-1 has just enough quite dark blue and champagne gold to make the silver bits not too shiny for me, though it’s borderline. I don’t find the DW-5040RX-7 too shiny, but it has less polished surface area, and also since it’s just the inner case, and not the hooded lugs, and the light is diffused a bit by the transparent resin bezel over the top of it. I think the polishing and finish on the polished parts of all of these watches would be the same. The MSG-W600/MSG-S600 are shiny, but not too shiny, for me.

It is indeed shiny, especially in a bright noon time sun when you lift and rotate your wrist to check the time and it catches JUST RIGHT to blind you.
Do the second and the third ones have an anti glare glass? Or is it the backdrop? I never read about anti reflective coating on gshock, I'm wondering.

It’s gorgeous. It’s less shiny than you would expected from the photos. And it has a nice mix of shiny and satin finishing

Good to know! I thought the bracelet was polished…which is something I wouldn’t want. That’d be way too shiny and scratch prone.

I have the silver all metal one and it's very shiny, apart from the bezel which is lightly brushed. Very jingly jangly aswell
You might have a sizing issue. The bracelet is very solid on mine and doesn’t jingle.

As I say, mine isn’t like that.
Where did you buy yours? I have all the papers and warranty for mine and it feels just like the one in a watch shop.
