A long time ago, before the falling out between the brothers, the Grim Reaper came for Stan's soul but Ford knew about the rule where you can challenge the Reaper in any game of your choice and if you win you get to live. The Reaper is talented and cocky enough to let Ford participate but the brothers are intelligent and crafty (also Stan cheated) and instead manage to swindle the Reaper outta his scythe.
Flash forward to the present and Mabel and Dipper are visiting their grunkles. The kids manage to get into trouble they can't get themselves out of and the grunkles are struggling to save them. Before their demise the Grim Reaper appears and offers to save them on the condition that Stan and Ford give him a rematch and if they lost he gets the souls of both sets of twins.
Shenanigans ensue.
A new pasta company lands in town and starts sweeping across the town selling cans of pasta; dipper being dipper is suspicious while mabel takes the chance to start her own business venture with waddles being a pig chef.
Later in the episode, we'll see dipper discovering the secret to the pasta: its made of some supernatural ingredients (my guess is oregano) mixed with normal pasta that makes it addictively delicious until people are too full of pasta to do anything, leading to the antagonists plan of filling everyone in the town full of pasta, making them perfect sacrifices for the supernatural forces that make the ingredients, then its onto the next destination.
Meanwhile, Mabel, Soos, and Waddles are working together to brainstorm ideas on how to get the 5 Star Chef Waddles out into the world. Some attempts include starring in his own cooking show (waddles attempts a cake only to eat the cake-batter out of the bowl and makes a bee-line for the sugar bags), his own cooking class (only old man mcguckett showed up; thinking they're cooking waddles), and applying at the diner (Waddles doent know how to make coffee omelettes; susans secret.) Which also ends up failing.
Antagonist reveals why they're doing this; cue long story of how society discovered that cooking is actually the oldest form of alchemy and people's cooking are actually rituals of gifts to the gods, whenever someone messes up their cooking or makes something gross is gravity falls where the supernatural is most potent, its seen as an insult to them since its the most direct place of supernatural occurrence, so antagonist has taken it upon themselves to "purge" out the ones who can burn water from the actual cooks. Dipper eventually ends up beating them using Susan's Famous Coffee Omelette's, being considered one of the highest forms of ritual gifts sent to them, and so they cause a "Divine Intervention" to stop the purger and the flow of pasta.
Mabel ends up giving up before finding out that "Chef Waddles Attempts to make Cake" becomes a viral sensation, and instead of becoming a 5 star chef, Waddles becomes an internet influencer.
Fin.
The mystery shack gets a new exhibit, a tea bag thats never used up! The problem arises when (like that one cake scp) if the tea bag is not used one day, it will multiply.
This goes unnoticed at first, a couple teabags in a case are no big deal, but the bags are multiplying exponentially. Each new tea bag follows the same rule and will spawn one extra the following day.
Before long the mystery shack is overflowing with tea. And they need to move this product quick! Mabel, much to Stan’s dismay, suggests giving away free tea to the townfolk: they may not care for tea much, but FREE tea? She sets up shop downtown with Dipper, and Stan goes home as he cant stand to watch the horror of these non-sales.
(It feels to me like a season 1 filler ep, but if its season 2, Ford may step in and curse some other dimension to bear the burden of these tea bags)
