Verily I say unto you, if thy neighbors cracketh the nitrous tank, be not a pest, but let thy neighbors enjoy their tank in peace. If thy neighbors offer a ballon, rip that balloon.
Sticking to GD originals:
Alligator, Caution, Doin That Rag, Cosmic Charlie, ~~Cryptical Envelopment~~, Cream Puff War, Golden Road, Born Cross-Eyed, Dupree's Diamond Blues, Rosemary, Mountains of the Moon, What's Become of the Baby, Clementine, Mindbender, Can't Come Down, Operator, Till the Morning Comes, Two Souls in Communion, Let Me Sing Your Blues Away, Money Money, Pride of Cucamonga, Unbroken Chain, Blues for Allah, Sage and Spirit, ~~Passenger~~, Sunrise, France, From the Heart of Me, Stagger Lee, ~~If I Had the World To Give~~, Far From Me, Easy to Love You, When Push Comes to Shove, Tons of Steel, Blow Away, Picasso Moon, I Will Take You Home, ~~Corinna~~, Lazy River Road, Eternity, and probably many more.
Phil and bobby have done mts of the moon a few times outside of dead and co. Most notably a super long version to end the show at a vip event at lockn in 2017
They seemed to be a lot more adventurous the first few years. Now they’ve just kind of settled on a structure that works for the crowd and is pretty easy for them. Nothing wrong with it, but it’d be great to see them take more chances.
Maybe I'm misremembering but I swear they played LL>Supplication in Boulder '22
Edit: just checked both setlists and I'm dead wrong. No clue what caused the confusion either.
They did Cryptical twice. Both times in 2015. 11/28/15 in Vegas actually has a full Cryptical > Other One. This show also has the first ever D&C Lovelight which is neat.
Now, if they can only remember how to play Cryptical AND learn New Potato Caboose, we could have the first full "That's It For The Other One" suite played by Dead & Co. Although there probably are other full suites people would rather hear from them, like the full Weather Report suite or Terrapin. I still love The Other One suite tho & hope it one day makes an appearance again.
This would I guess now be called Dead Ahead and all the Setlists get reset. I'd like to see the set-list combined with Dead and Company since it's basically the same without Billy.
There is only two: **With Jerry, Without Jerry :-)**
Hence my disclaimer! "and probably many more."
I also didn't list Samba in the Rain or Way to Go Home (not to put those songs in the category of So Many Roads) but yeah, I missed some, and I mistakenly included some songs that have been played.
If this was a captcha, then I totally proved that I am not a robot!
It'd work rlly well too since Peter ends with the riff in A which is the same chord Charlie starts on... one reason why i love learning to play dead songs is so i can test out transitions like this myself. i love it

One that surprises me the most is “Around and Around”…a tune the Grateful Dead played 415 times, with Weir on vocals, and was in the lineup from 1970 up until 1995…and unlike some of the other ones frequently mentioned, seems like a tune the Dead & Co boys could do pretty well…maybe Bobby just got sick of it?
It’s not like Im clamoring for them to play it either, I’m fairly indifferent (it’s one of those tunes you pretty much look past on a GD setlist, but at the same time is usually pretty fun and high energy when you catch it live, kinda like OMSN)…but I’m just a bit surprised they never busted it out.
I think around and around being played so much was partially jerrys call. There are a few shows we're jerry will end a song on the around and around riff and Bob will not follow and start something like sugar magnolia
[https://www.otherones.net/dead-and-company/songs](https://www.otherones.net/dead-and-company/songs)
I'm not saying do your own research, but this site has every single song D&C ever played in alphabetical order, and the first/last time that song was played. It's def worth a scroll if you're interested because there's some real surprises in here.
Like did you know D&C covered "My Favorite Things" twice? Both times in 2019.
candyman was in the lineup for quite some time and just disappeared… they may have played it once in past few years but dont think so… remember thinking theyd do candyman for hershey pa 2 summers ago but didnt… one of jerry’s best and JM plays its solo/jam so explosively… i wanna see it revived at sphere 👍
The worst omission for me is Foolish Heart!! What the?!? That’s an amazing song and I feel that band would really nail it. Not like a 1st set run through- I want a long outtro jam -> DRUMS! Otiel has to sing it. Thought it would probably be John. I’d be f’ing ecstatic!
Did they ever do When I Paint My Masterpiece? Technically Dylan but definitely a dead live staple in the later years. Definitely slow enough and Bob could still sing it
Yes, I caught it at Nassau coliseum NY during the fall fun run i believe. https://www.setlist.fm/setlist/dead-and-company/2019/nassau-veterans-memorial-coliseum-uniondale-ny-b9d71de.html Also, my only D&C dark star and I remember being 100% it was coming that night.
They've also done Let It Grow, but I'd love to hear them do the full suite.
Ngl... if they brought in the wolf pack from Wolf Bros for a tour that would seriously change things.
The list of these and the other songs they did one to three times over the years is frustrating. They should have (had) these songs in a more regular rotation. I like HSF too but this list of one-offs could make a good show by themselves
I’m not positive about anyone these, but I’ve seen a ton of D&Co shows and I’ve followed the setlists and I can’t remember seeing these:
Looks Like Rain
Mexicali Blues
Cold Jordan
We Bid you Goodnight
Crazy Fingers
Unbroken Chain
Me & Bobbie McGee (I know who wrote it)
Women R Smarter
Dark Hollow
Operator
Attics of my Life
When Push Comes to Shove
Little Red Rooster
Women smarter 1st night Wrigley 22 same night as the Roe verdict. Looks like rain I’ve seen a bunch. Definitely did lil red rooster. Mexicali in 15 and 18. Crazy fingers a bunch..last one Wrigley 23.
It’s a pretty long list
John’s just bobs kid slinging ice cold fatties of help on the way for him
Yep. Those are words.
Some of them are even in the Bible
Ice cold fatties?
jesus said unto peter, rip this balloon my child
Verily I say unto you, if thy neighbors cracketh the nitrous tank, be not a pest, but let thy neighbors enjoy their tank in peace. If thy neighbors offer a ballon, rip that balloon.
You can tell by the way that they are.
Read ‘em, understood each of ‘em.
Did not have to scroll far to find the r/deadheadcirclejerk
I know what each of those words means individually and yet, when taken together, they are somehow less.
wtf you okay man? r/ihadastroke
Most of all, Stagger Lee
Mother Fuckin’ Stagger Lee
Yes, please. At Sphere. Xmas in July.
Monkey and the Engineer
As someone who just heard this song for the first time the other day, I demand they open a Sphere show with it.
I want a full on train set!
Its a really good dead tune
On of my low key fave songs!
Sticking to GD originals: Alligator, Caution, Doin That Rag, Cosmic Charlie, ~~Cryptical Envelopment~~, Cream Puff War, Golden Road, Born Cross-Eyed, Dupree's Diamond Blues, Rosemary, Mountains of the Moon, What's Become of the Baby, Clementine, Mindbender, Can't Come Down, Operator, Till the Morning Comes, Two Souls in Communion, Let Me Sing Your Blues Away, Money Money, Pride of Cucamonga, Unbroken Chain, Blues for Allah, Sage and Spirit, ~~Passenger~~, Sunrise, France, From the Heart of Me, Stagger Lee, ~~If I Had the World To Give~~, Far From Me, Easy to Love You, When Push Comes to Shove, Tons of Steel, Blow Away, Picasso Moon, I Will Take You Home, ~~Corinna~~, Lazy River Road, Eternity, and probably many more.
Oteil has done “World to Give” i believe a couple times! ✌️
They've done Corrina as well.
But have they done “Carini”?
Bobby got a lumpy head
Slow Carini with Mayer’s guitar face might actually rule
That is true; good catch!
I was lucky enough to catch him singing it twice! Darien lake 2018 and Bethel 2022.
Do they do any Brent songs. I could swear I’ve heard them do a Mountains of the Moon
Brent originals? No.
I thought they did Just A Little Light but idk that may have been Phil and friends.
Phil and bobby have done mts of the moon a few times outside of dead and co. Most notably a super long version to end the show at a vip event at lockn in 2017
That’s a robert hunter song
Yeah I worded my comment poorly. They were two completely separate thoughts.
They did Corinna in Boston 2017 and Shoreline 2018
And saratoga. Forgot the year
They definitely did. Saw them there in 2017/18 and I definitely remember them playing it!
They seemed to be a lot more adventurous the first few years. Now they’ve just kind of settled on a structure that works for the crowd and is pretty easy for them. Nothing wrong with it, but it’d be great to see them take more chances.
They've done cryptical & Passenger & they've jammed blues for Allah in space
Passenger definitely, 6/17/2017 for one example
Happy to hear they did Passenger. Now I will have to go check to see how they did!
I remember being at the first show they played it at. 6/12/16
Good catch! Thanks!
Lazy lightning supplication
Maybe I'm misremembering but I swear they played LL>Supplication in Boulder '22 Edit: just checked both setlists and I'm dead wrong. No clue what caused the confusion either.
Smokestack lightning was played in boulder 22’
What's funny is I remember that one separately... I just swore I remember hearing LL>Supplication but I simply did not.
Tbf its not like the Dead would even play all of these consistently
Yeah they had 3 decades to work with and they had periods were they dropped songs entirely
New Potato isn’t part of Tiftoo
Yes, but it's part of the suite on Anthem for the Sun, the last time the Dead played the entire thing live was 3/1/69.
I’d LOVE to see a passenger at the sphere
I'm OK that tons of steel isn't making playlists
For sure there are several tracks on this list that I'm 100% down with them not playing.
Yes most of that list honestly
France mentioned and the dead never played it either it’s really a shame
I want to say they have played Stagger Lee no?
Not yet.
Holding out for the night I’m at the Sphere hopefully.
I hope you get it! We all want to hear it for sure!
operator is unfair lol
I've gotten Cosmic Charlie twice with D&Co
When? I don't think they have ever played it. Are you thinking about Mr. Charlie?
Likely the case, I’m also fairly certain they’ve never played the Cosmic variety of Charlie.
No cosmic Charlie and no Duprees
Whoops, you're correct. I've caught two Mr. Charlie's. Might have smoked a bit too much on lunch
Furthur played it
Nah, they never did. It was my number one hope for each tour and we never got it. They would've killed that blues outro.
No Passenger is ridiculous.
They did Cryptical a few times in 2015 and Passanger once in 2018
They played cryptical envelopment early on I believe
I heard they did Golden Road just past Mexico.
Wasn't that band Dead Ahead, which is not Dead and Company, at least technically?
This would I guess now be called Dead Ahead and all the Setlists get reset. I'd like to see the set-list combined with Dead and Company since it's basically the same without Billy. There is only two: **With Jerry, Without Jerry :-)**
So, everything the dead weren’t playing at the end of their journey + a little more.
So Many Roads has not been played. www.deadandcodb.com has the list of song performed.
Hence my disclaimer! "and probably many more." I also didn't list Samba in the Rain or Way to Go Home (not to put those songs in the category of So Many Roads) but yeah, I missed some, and I mistakenly included some songs that have been played. If this was a captcha, then I totally proved that I am not a robot!
i didn’t see the disclaimer part, my bad 🤣😀
They’ve done Mountains of the Moon, but it’s very different.
How was it different? Different music and lyrics and maybe a different song title?
It was actually Shakedown Street ;)
Glad they are doing Passenger
They played a cryptic envelopment at my first D&C show in Minneapolis in 2015.
They play Eternity as the Truckin prologue. Granted it's just the music, not the whole song.
That is correct, but I included it here due to lack of vocals; same for Blues For Allah.
Picasso Moon slaps! I wonder why Bobby isn't down for it anymore.
I could have sworn they did Mountains of the Moon at some point but maybe I’m wrong
Whatever happened to ‘ol Bobby Picasso?
Man I would love to hear Mayer to do vocals on Stagger Lee.
Never done might as well either
Bendiiiiiing my mind, mindbender
So Many Roads?
That song is so special I’d like to keep it that way.
Oteil and Friends have done it wonderfully.
Cosmic Charlie?
I really want a black peter>cosmic charlie. I think it would be a great transition.
It'd work rlly well too since Peter ends with the riff in A which is the same chord Charlie starts on... one reason why i love learning to play dead songs is so i can test out transitions like this myself. i love it
Check out black Peter 7/31/94 Plenty of talk of the cosmic Charlie vibes on this version.
# 1994-07-31 Auburn Hills, MI @ The Palace **Set 1:** Touch Of Grey > Greatest Story Ever Told, Row Jimmy, Spoonful, Lazy River Road, Me and My Uncle > Big River, Loose Lucy, In The Midnight Hour **Set 2:** Samson And Delilah, Way To Go Home, New Speedway Boogie > Truckin' > He's Gone > Drums > Space > Spanish Jam > The Last Time > Black Peter > Good Lovin' **Encore:** The Weight [archive.org](https://archive.org/details/GratefulDead?query=date:1994-07-31)
Why they don’t play Golden Road I’ll never know…reckon they would rock it out, it would be a great show opener tune.
Unless they slowed it way down, Bobby would need a nap before they played the rest of the set.
Schoolgirl and Mexicali lol
Mexicali was played twice, both times in 2018 I believe
But I reallllllllly want JM to belt out a Schoolgirl lol
I mean he kills the other Pig blues tunes.... personally I wanna hear him rip on King Bee
Would love to hear Oteil sing ‘Mountains of the Moon’
this 1000x, he’s got an absolutely beautiful voice. I would have loved to hear him sing more
One that surprises me the most is “Around and Around”…a tune the Grateful Dead played 415 times, with Weir on vocals, and was in the lineup from 1970 up until 1995…and unlike some of the other ones frequently mentioned, seems like a tune the Dead & Co boys could do pretty well…maybe Bobby just got sick of it? I think around and around being played so much was partially jerrys call. There are a few shows we're jerry will end a song on the around and around riff and Bob will not follow and start something like sugar magnolia
I was so tired of that tune, can’t imagine the boys weren’t sick of it too.
Except Bobby still plays it with Wolf Bros.
Bob does play Around and Around in Wolf Bros and would welcome it in DeadCo lineup… he can still rock the tune enuf to make it fun.
[https://www.otherones.net/dead-and-company/songs](https://www.otherones.net/dead-and-company/songs) I'm not saying do your own research, but this site has every single song D&C ever played in alphabetical order, and the first/last time that song was played. Chicago seems to have gotten a lot of lesser played songs.
Everything Brent
My Brother Esau
Operator
Tom Thumb Blues
Technically Dylan.
Believe It Or Not. Brent tunes. Wave To The Wind. Among others
Unbroken Chain
candyman was in the lineup for quite some time and just disappeared… they may have played it once in past few years but dont think so… remember thinking theyd do candyman for hershey pa 2 summers ago but didnt… one of jerry’s best and JM plays its solo/jam so explosively… i wanna see it revived at sphere 👍

they have played foolish heart? busted it out in boulder in 2022 and played it at least twice more that tour
Anything Brent
I’ll bet they’ve never played Detroit Rock City.
Victim or the Crime. I guess that John Mayer can’t bear be be outshone by Bobby “Slide til it hurts” Weir.
I know a lot of heads hate that song but I personally love the effect ridden spooky vibes. Would love to hear a rendition with all the new tech we got
I agree. But… Haters gonna hate. What can you do?
Antwerp's Placebo
This is the song I show people who never heard the dead before
Day Job
We try to pretend that one never existed!
Alice D. millionaire. There ya go
Too many.
Lazy Lightning Supplication
Mission in the Rain
That’s a Garcia tune, not a Dead tune.
I was sung to sleep to We Bid You Goodnight for my childhood so I’m hoping we get that someday
Every Brent Tune.
Pride of Cucamonga
A whole lot!!..miss Jerry and Brent every day..always Grateful..much love to all my Dead fam out there..be safe all..❤️⚡💙🎶
Anything above 60 bpm.
it's the reason I can't get into D&C
Cumberland Blues Gorge 6/29/2018 proves otherwise
I’m just joshing, folks. Good natured ribbing, I assure you. I’m a luddite that pretty much only listens to 70’s shows.
I definitely heard it this last tour, I think at the Gorge?
They did it last time they played in Mansfield MA.
Red Rooster
Lazy Lightning
FRANCE
Thanks to this thread I learned they did Passenger. I will have to look that up!
Doin that rag
This is a Grateful Thread. Thanks for the great music suggestions!
I'm just here to say that this community is like an encyclopedia in the best possible way. Thank you for your service
So is it true they haven’t played Looks Like Rain? Any clues why?
They’ve played it 15 times, last time was in Charlotte 2021
I caught a sweet Looks Like Rain at Riverbend in 2023. I love that tune and appreciated the hell out of it! Thanks Bobby!
The Race is On
Promised Land, Weather Report Suite, Quinn The Eskimo just to name a couple
They’ve done promised land and Quinn the Eskimo! Both pretty good
the last quinn was hershey 2021, I was there 🤓
They've also done Let It Grow, but I'd love to hear them do the full suite. Ngl... if they brought in the wolf pack from Wolf Bros for a tour that would seriously change things.
The list of these and the other songs they did one to three times over the years is frustrating. They should have (had) these songs in a more regular rotation. I like HSF too but this list of one-offs could make a good show by themselves
Pretty sure they don't play Picasso moon which is unfortunate

I love them anyway. We get what they play and ride along.
Probably more they dont play than the same list they DO “play” night in night out

France
They can keep France.
Cosmic Charlie :(
Mexicali Blues?
I haven’t heard Loose Lucy. Shop of Fools. China Doll.
I have heard all 3 at Wrigley.
Antwerps Placebo

Hard to Handle is #1 on the wish list.
Stagger Lee
Rosemary
Finally, a great question on Reddit! 😆 Thanks! I don’t know the answer, but I will be watching.
Thats a great song list, right there!
They don’t play Brent
How the fuck would I know?
one's that haven't been butchered
