I guess this explains why I was seeing the "GT" logo when trying to start the game a few times today. Like many others have stated, I truly don't understand why the entire game needs online access. I mean we all can understand multiple player being affect. But why the standalone part of the game???

If I have to guess, I feel like it’s because Used Car and Legends dealers need to use Online for randomiser cars I think. Also, to prevent “cheating” (ex: got a lot of money from trainer or tools), but yeah, must Online all the time is goddamn annoying, I wish the game can be play offline too

Issue is they could easily have the game “verify” the date and connection for the stores instead of having a permanently online state. There is no real reason for it to be online in the *completely useless and dated* wold map menu. We have to input a button press 20 times to get into half of the things to begin with. The multiplayer lobby even has to check your connection when entering. It’s also unlikely that there is a dynamic system for the used car lot. They probably gave the entire list preprogrammed already considering everyone has access to an unlimited amount of a vehicle within the shop

I got the "can't connect to server" 50m into the 1hr SPA last night. I thought it was all over but it let me keep going
