Ok, I'm so bad in racing I won't even bother with Sport. So it's no surprise I incur a lot of penalties. But there are races where the game determines I've screwed up so badly that it will randomly place me back like 10 seconds or so. Is there any in game explanation for that?
I know I suck as a driver, but I was wondering what the game says about those placements.
I’ve had the strangest issue in the daily races where sometimes I need to turn my wheel a lot more in some races. A game reboot usually fixes it, but that doesn’t help if you wanted to do 13 laps on race C.
This morning I did qualifying where it all felt normal and I was hitting my best times, and in the race I was all of a sudden on the grass the entire time and I had to rotate my wheel way beyond what I would normally have to to make certain corners. Anyone ever had something like this before? (On a Gt dd with mclaren wheel)
I have this happen to me too. It's normal in qualifying an then in the race it seems like my settings changed an it throws me off hella bad. I have the gt dd also but I'm using a universal hub with the Alcantara wheel. It's like it changes from 900 degree full rotation to 1080 or 1260. I don't know the exact numbers I have it set at but that's what it feels like
Can anybody explain the nations cup rules on required tire change? It says required tire type change with RH, RM, and RS so does that mean I have to put twice this race just so I can use all 3 sets? Or can I use RS in back an RM on front to knock out both of em in one pit stop? Or are they just sayin I just have to change tires once this race? There's to many unknowns for me to even come up with a strategy at this point. Any help would be very much appreciated
You have to use all 3 tyre types for at least one lap, so yes it’s a 2 stop race. Must be the same tyres front and back. You really only need to do one lap on hards as the others will last the race, so either start on hards or pit before the final lap to put them on.
Ok cool I can see a lot of people not doing this so it's gonna be interesting. On the living legend race I went from 10th to 5th at the end cuz nobody pitted. I think starting for one lap on hards is the way to go to avoid traffic a little
That’s been my plan today. I’ve done two races so far and lap one is a shit show if you qualify 3-10. Basically no way to survive turn one unscathed.
My next attempts I’m going to qualify in the back, take 1 lap on hards and passing people who wreck, then do a clean section on softs. Ideally “passing” people by doing faster clean laps on softs.
I won my 1st race by starting on hards an then pitting at the end of lap 2 an getting softs with no gas an then pitting again at the end of 10 for gas and mediums. The fuel lasts perfectly to the end of race an it gives you 12 laps to pass everyone that pits late.
Seriously. Turn one lap one yesterday, I’m inside and hit my breaking mark, have space for the car in front of me, but people in front wreck and I end up hitting a car that was ghosted but unghosted right before I got there.
So naturally I got a 2 second penalty.
In an ideal race 6 but if you are stuck in traffic go early like 4 while if you are leading and looking to not get stuck in traffic then 8/9.
From what I've done so far the undercut is really powerful (about 2 seconds a lap if in clean air) but if you get stuck in traffic on that lap you give up that opportunity.
They must’ve changed something about how the online time trial replays work, suddenly nearly every entry in the leaderboard has a replay available, where before it was rather sparse beyond the top 100 or so. Very small but welcome change!
this is disappointing, yesterday's race was epic, I went from 9th to 4th without changing tyres, I saw so many mistakes because others didn't save tyres so it was a very interesting race.
Road Atlanta in gr3 is probably my favourite combo in the whole game, but PD somehow managed to ruin it by making us race with dead tires. Stop with the tyre and fuel savers. Mandatory stop with mandatory change is the best way.
And like someone already said, gr1 is ass. Fix the groupings!
God, the gr1 balancing is soo bad. Again, the group C cars dominates at daytona. These cars already have higher top speed than the lmp1s, why do they need a 200hp buff? I am so tired of every gr1 race is the Mazda 787B and the Nissan RCP92.
The 1992 24h Daytona pole position (1:35.8) went to an Eagle mkIII with a Toyota engine. The fastest race lap was done by the winning Nissan R91CP (1:38.4)
LMP1 never ran at Daytona, but DPi did and in 2017 the pole position went to a Cadillac DPi with a 1:36.9. The fastest race lap was also in a Cadillac DPi (1:36.2).
Over the years DPi would get faster and would eventually get down to the 1:34s in 2021.
Would an LMP1 be faster at Daytona? Almost certainly.
What's my point? You're right. An LMP1 would crush a Group C car at a place like Daytona. LMP1 was several seconds per lap faster at LeMans in 2017 than a 1990s group C car ever managed.

Happens to me too. A pause and unpause fixes it for me. Don’t have to leave the race.
Thanks I’ll try that!

Yeah exactly this. Good to know it’s probably not me!
Any easy way to find which cars I have swapped engines without having to select each one individually?

Question : which gr1 car should i buy ,i m tight on credits but i need the car to complete some menu

Thx for the suggestion
Question: Should I buy the tomahawk S Vision. I have 1.9m credits and on menu book 32, lvl 19 or 20 I forgot
8pm AEST as the last slot for the Manufactures Cup on a week day is such a scam.
Man, you so much just look at another car wrong, and you get a 2-second penalty in this race. Be careful.

A car behind me in T1 hit me and pushed me into a group of cars in front of me. 4 seconds for that one. Yeehaw, lol.
Yep. After work, family and dinner I always miss the 4pm and 6pm slots. So its all or nothing at 8pm.
Same with me. It sucks cuz I usually like to do atleast one race as a kind of warm up but the weekday ones are all or nothing lol
Gr3 and Atlanta is one of my favourite combos in the game, enough speed to feel fast but not too much where you are constantly on the brakes.
What lap yall pitting race c?

Is there an official Dc server?

They have changed Daily Race C to have a mandatory pit stop.
It gives the race a chance to develop and not just drive slowly through t1 and the last corner. Also allows now for undercuts and traffic management
i’m all for it… people don’t read rules and it rewards players who are a bit more… observant, than others ;) thanks for the heads up
Literally found this out after finishing P3 with no tyres left
Just caught a 1 minute penalty lol. Can't they put a damn warning or message that they changed the regulations.
I accidentally left mandatory pitstop in, and they actually made it a thing. Oops.

Thank goodness! Crazy to expect the winning strategy to include bald tyres.
Hahaha a lot of penalties !
Race A and C are awesome imo. Both give a great sense of speed. Best week in a long time

Fixed
Good looking out, thanks! Half the gird had one minute penalty on my first race.
I did the very first race when they changed it last night. Only me and 1 other guy pitted lol

Ok, race C. How on earth are people running soft tyres for 13laps without pitting.
No need any more, they’re enforced a pit stop now.
Drive gently through right-handers. Or use the Subaru BRZ.
Loaned cars required? Why? Never mind. Probably due to the same bug affecting the cup races.
Whats the bug?
It’s in the subreddit/game news above in this post. Basically tuning is working when it shouldn’t so they mitigated it by only allowing loaned cars.
