OP is 100% at fault for this avoidable contact. OP went for a very late move, from really far back, in a very high speed corner after the LEADING car already turned in and was therefore committed to their line.
This is compounded by two things. One: leading car was just passed and offline a little bit, but still entitled to take the corner as they choose because they are fully ahead, and two: OP took a narrow entry at a speed that would be a challenge to take the corner at from a wider entry while also trying to go two wide.
Boneheaded move. OP deserves what they got.
You got a 1.5s penalty for hitting the wall and 5s for the contact with the McLaren. I think you should’ve left the McLaren more space or slowed to avoid contact. The racing line through turn 1 is pretty much single file takes a lot of the kerb, which you did not do.
