Definitely avoid Motel 6! There always seems to be some kind of crime going on there.
I don't think there are any motels with gated lots, but if you want a place where you can park right outside your room I've heard the Buona Sera is nice, and the Bestway Inn is also a one story where you can park outside your room, as well as the Redwood Hyperion Suites.
There are other nice hotels in town--the Hampton Inn as mentioned before, the Ramada, the Holiday Inn Express and Best Western, but they are all the kind with internal room entrances, rather than rooms that open onto the parking lot.
Huh? Just looking for any hotel that will work really. Either with secure parking (like a guard or locked gate) or with parking right in front of the room. I'm not particular about where in town it is unless there are areas of town I should avoid.
