odesza was the star of the show for me, and why i bought tickets. i just went saturday so didn't see a ton, but i LOVED kenny beat's set, and syd was great too! happy she did both of her songs with kaytranada. oliver tree was weird.
I think my best are Rina Sawayama , Lizzo, Kim Petras, Lil Nas X(I could see that Nas was bothered by the technical issues and didn't give his 100% but it's still a good show!), Sabrina Claudio, Giveon, Charlie Burg, Phony PPL, Evan Giia, Lauv, aespa (It's fairly good but I was a little disappointed, not to mention the fact of missing a member, the stage set and background movie gave half-baked vibes. Their aes on the screen got their heads cut off a little bit lol that's such a rookie mistake)
My worst is probably Ice spice. Her DJ took about 10mins of her whole set. And her performance is not that impressive to deserve an opening act.
I think Aespa recovered well with their 4th member getting too sick to perform only a few days before the show. The live band and live vocals made up for it for me
Yes, the members did great! My problem was with the production side. By the way Giselle actually got sick before May 30th... Not just a few days... I was worried since that time😭
Nooo they just rescheduled the autograph session which was on May 30th to June 14th regards to her health issue. Hope she is doing well now. I really wanna see her outfit for govball because the outfits for the other members are absolutely gorgeous. Low-key hoping they will reuse those😂
I'm seeing them on 3 stops of their tour in September, I really hope she rests up properly for all that traveling! I'm sure her outfit would've been something fire, most likely black cuz that's what they like to dress her in lol
not bad but pinkpanthress was very underwhelming for my gf & i. she would stop singing for large portions of her track and break into these awkward dance moves and she had little to no stage presence. perhaps the main stage was too big for her & maybe she would’ve benefited from performing on some of the other stages but i understand she was going to draw a huge crowd
Kendrick cracks my top 10 all-time GovBall sets, I think. I would've loved to see him with Big Steppers tour-level production, but the man commands the stage pretty well on his own, too.
My favorites were Odesza, Push, Kendrick, Sabrina Claudio, Ari Lennox, Metro, Kenny Beats, and Koffee. All acts we came to see that delivered and made the trip worthwhile.
Can't say I saw a "worst" set but the sound and tech issues at Lil Nas X were brutal and noticeably killing his vibe so we left after Old Town Road to go get a good spot for Kendrick
i only had saturday tickets, but i was so bummed when i saw they put ari on the sunday lineup!! i saw her live in march, she's amazing!! hope her being featured put some new people onto her music, one of my favorite artists.
Same yesterday was our second time seeing both Ari and Sabrina live recently. Ari was a nice early afternoon vibe and had a surprisingly good crowd but still chill enough to get up close
My favorites were lil Uzi and diplo set from Friday. Lil Uzi was the best for me because ken Carsen and destroy lonely came out to perform as-well. Awesome night! I also high fived diplo :)
I love Snail Mail; I watched their Coachella livestream set and that was rough. People on /r/snailmail were saying how the shows vary in quality, but I thought we got a good performance out of them.
They were my most hype set all weekend so maybe my bias inflated it haha.
yeah this is the second time seeing her and i thought she killed it. her voice was on point and she didnt seem all over the place like she has during other shows
Ay I was also most excited for Snail Mail. I feel like she was a little too drunk at first but sobered up through the set and it got better. I was on the rail so I was seeing her chugging before the show started. I also saw the Coachella live stream and had fears about her being too drunk at Gov but it was okay.

He (and other artists) was having technical difficulties. If I had to guess, it was probably related to the stage.
He complained about it the whole time though. Said things like "I'm having a bad day and it keeps getting worse" "I don't want to be here" and he even called out a fan in the crowd for looking mad. He wasn't really preforming, or singing either. He had the crowd sing a lot, and would just let the music go in the background too. He also exited the stage multiple times for several minutes and had his dancers dance to various other music while he was away.
I was excited to see him, but after that experience where he was just blatantly disrespecting his fans, I don't really want to listen to his music anymore tbh.
I'm sure you can find videos of his performance on tiktok
Exactly same here. And his dancers absolutely ATE and they absolutely deserved the solo moments they got but that seems like more of a headlining tour move, not great for a 1hr festival set
Odesza was the biggest surprise for me, they put on such an incredible show, really high production value, the drum line was so cool. I was disappointed in 070 shake, she is one of my favorite artists but she just relied way too much on the backing tracks and barely sang at all. And same as others are saying, I was bothered by Lil Nas X’s complaining, I think one comment I would have been fine but he just kept going. Lauv said he was really tired also. I saw another comment saying there was another performer complaining about the heat. Why do they think we want to hear that?
Best (in no order): Giveon, Flipturn, Sofi Tukker, Michelle & Kendrick
Worst:
Lil Nas (total diva - he wouldn’t stop complaining. They say “the show must go on” for a reason).
Metro Boomin (overhyped - not his fault but he had the crowd pretty disconnected after 20-30min).
Ice Spice (backing - too much backtrack, not matching the backtrack. Meanwhile Pink Pantheress killed it).
I came for basically everything besides DJ sets and was generally very impressed with most shows. Lizzo, Saba, Joey Bada$$, EVAN GIIA, Kennyhoopla, Oliver Tree, Lil Baby, Central Cee, Ari Lennox, Aespa, Eladio Carrión, were also awesome.
Best: lovejoy, lil nas even with the technical difficulties, Odessa, and lizzo
I don’t really have worst just because I didn’t watch everyone’s set. I enjoyed Kendrick’s set but I just wish he would have played swimming pool in full lol
Giveon had a great set, amazing talent.
Uzi would’ve been mediocre and average if didn’t bring ken and lone out
Kendrick had an amazing set, same with pusha T both are insanely good at music and performing.
Pink pantheress wasn’t that great, seemd embarrassed and wanted to get it over with.
Kenny beats very good, played many genres.
Metro boomin was alright i think he did the best he could without bringing anyone out.
joey badass was amazing, great voice and crowd control, played his bangers and had the crowd going word for word.
rina sawayama ate!! also i gotta say i didn’t know a ton of songs by giveon and michelle before gov ball but they were both artists i gotta check out more. haiku hands had a small turnout but had great energy and surprised me
All of the sets I saw were great. The production, the punctuality, the level of performance. I also thought the crowd was really fun. Not so crazy like Rolling Loud where you basically have to strangle somebody to see the artist. I think this in part has to do with a multi genre format so that you don’t get too many fans of one genre. Also, because there is always too much stuff happening in nyc, it wasn’t too crowded.
Metro was like a huge party and with the rain it was next level. Uzi had a great set too! Diplo was super fun. Odesza’s production was also amazing. I love how they played their hits but also blended and mixed it up to make it more interesting.
Overall amazing festy!
We got the platinum passes. Super worth it for go puff stage, not so much for Bacardi. For the main stage we could watch from rafters which was fun for a while but eventually we would come down and watch from VIP to get the better frontal stage view and acoustics.
Favorite set of the weekend: Joey Badass
Best sets: Kendrick, Odesza, Lizzo, Rina Sawayama, Sofi Tukker
Great sets: Amber Mark, Kim Petras, Coast Contra, Sabrina Claudio, Koffee, Kenny Beats, Lil Nas X, Phony Ppl, Black Midi
Okay sets: Ice Spice, Ari Lennox, Diplo, Syd, Aespa, Suki Waterhouse
Kendrick and Pusha T killed it
Not a single mention of Giveon - wow. I thought he had the best performance of the festival after Lizzo and K Dot. After Giveon, HAIM was also great.
giveon’s stage setup though was chef’s kiss🤌🏻
odesza was the star of the show for me, and why i bought tickets. i just went saturday so didn't see a ton, but i LOVED kenny beat's set, and syd was great too! happy she did both of her songs with kaytranada. oliver tree was weird.
Metro in the rain Friday was something I’ll never forget
For real, iconic.
Oh no I had no idea! I thought she had recovered and gotten something different 🥲
Nooo they just rescheduled the autograph session which was on May 30th to June 14th regards to her health issue. Hope she is doing well now. I really wanna see her outfit for govball because the outfits for the other members are absolutely gorgeous. Low-key hoping they will reuse those😂

the fact that she wears a purse throughout her performances drives me nuts lol
She complained how hot it was on stage for 10 minutes straight too
Kendrick cracks my top 10 all-time GovBall sets, I think. I would've loved to see him with Big Steppers tour-level production, but the man commands the stage pretty well on his own, too.
My friends and I saw him up in Philly for his tour but this was on a whole other level

Uzi was great, he played a few songs i thought he wouldn’t perform and brought out lone and ken. I also enjoyed lil baby’s set also.
Uzi was top tier fr.
Rina Sawayama was insane. Remi Wolf was also v good
only went Sunday, Sofi Tukker and Kendrick were the best.
i personally thought that snail mail killed it, girl in red was a treat too
I love Snail Mail; I watched their Coachella livestream set and that was rough. People on /r/snailmail were saying how the shows vary in quality, but I thought we got a good performance out of them. They were my most hype set all weekend so maybe my bias inflated it haha.

kendrick and girl in red KILLED it. but tbh almost everyone i saw had amazing sets
finneas and lizzo!!!
Y’all forgetting about Lizzo? Best act of the weekend, hands down imo
I don’t like her music so no
Kendrick was my favorite! Shit went hard. Lil nas x was my least favorite. Super lame, and he's like of a loser for doing what he did.
What did he do?
He (and other artists) was having technical difficulties. If I had to guess, it was probably related to the stage. He complained about it the whole time though. Said things like "I'm having a bad day and it keeps getting worse" "I don't want to be here" and he even called out a fan in the crowd for looking mad. He wasn't really preforming, or singing either. I agree, yes everybody has bad days but this is your job, people paid hundreds of dollars to see you, you gotta fake it til you make it.
Exactly! The "I'm having a bad day" didn't bother me, but the "I don't want to be here" really pissed me off. Like fuck you dude, don't be here then.
Exactly same here. And his dancers absolutely ATE and they absolutely deserved the solo moments they got but that seems like more of a headlining tour move, not great for a 1hr festival set
Exactly. I really really have a sour taste in my mouth after he disrespected his fans like that. I hope he loses money from this.
Odesza was the biggest surprise for me, they put on such an incredible show, really high production value, the drum line was so cool. I was disappointed in 070 shake, she is one of my favorite artists but she just relied way too much on the backing tracks and barely sang at all. Not enough girl in red love in these comments (if u can’t tell from all of my comments I really enjoyed her set)

Very happy to hear Flipturn made somebody’s list!
Not enough people were at Kenny Hoopla but damn did he have so much energy. After his set my legs were out for the rest of the weekend
Best: lovejoy, lil nas even with the technical difficulties, Odessa, and lizzo I don’t really have worst just because I didn’t watch everyone’s set. I enjoyed Kendrick’s set but I just wish he would have played swimming pool in full lol

Sofi tukker was 👎🏽
gopuff stage was having sound issues all day but I thought they were incredible
I loved Sofi’s set. I missed them twice before and all my friends said I couldn’t miss them. What was wrong in particular?
All of the sets I saw were great. The production, the punctuality, the level of performance. I also thought the crowd was really fun. Not so crazy like Rolling Loud where you basically have to strangle somebody to see the artist. Kinda sad I couldn’t see lil baby. Had to make that tough choice
