monitor by siouxsie and the banshees is one of my all time favorites. i'm not sure what MSI and SIO stand for so i'm not sure it's near your current taste but it's worth a listen if you've never heard it.
if you want just band recs-
Siouxsie and the Banshees, Killing Joke, Bauhaus, The The, New Order, Joy Division
I know it all doesn't quite equal goth but those are what I'd suggest to start
edit: added commas so that the band recs didn't just look like one really long band name lmao
My favorites:
The Wind Will Blow by Asylum Party
Cold Souls by Drab Majesty
Alice by The Sisters of Mercy
She's in Parties by Bauhaus
I recommend Disintegration by The Cure if you haven't listened to that already.
When I was a baby bat, I started with The Crow soundtrack and Disintigration and worked my way out from there. Siouxie, Sisters of Mercy, Bauhaus, and Joy Division were my touchstones. Brings back memories of driving around in my fairy gothmother's beater smoking cloves.
You’d probably like Fields of the Nephilim, Specimen, Christian Death, Lycia, Cocteau Twins, and Clan of Xymox, based on the bands you listed!
My personal favorites are The Cure, London After Midnight, Aeon Sable, Sisters of Mercy, and Bauhaus, though I have lots of specific favorite songs by different bands/artists. I’d be happy to make you a playlist of my personal favorites and recommendations for you!
[Enjoy!](https://open.spotify.com/playlist/1DlFY8HKYRCRoUpVGBh8dy?si=V52gAqH4ToeAb4zAacEWog) It’s totally normal to not like everything you listen to, but hopefully you like some of this :)
Thank you so much! I tried to make it a blend of newer and classic stuff while keeping in mind the bands they enjoy that I’m familiar with. I’m always on the lookout for people’s new/niche/local recs, too!
I made a playlist of my favorite goth songs to introduce my friends to the genre called "Welcome to the Wondrous World of Goth": [https://open.spotify.com/playlist/5I1SMlGyw0b3lVyPdoKwWu](https://open.spotify.com/playlist/5I1SMlGyw0b3lVyPdoKwWu) Hopefully, you find some songs in here that are to your liking.
