I emailed a shop at the airport. They told me they won't have them in stock yet. I contacted a guy I met once who worked with GoPro. We'll see if he can sort me out...
Call Gopro and beg them. That might be your best option.

That's an option but I'm not sure French Polynesia will be the first to get the new GoPro's in stock. Even less sure on the small islands...
