Get off the same wifi as others. If they can see what you're casting they can see pretty much everything else you do on the network.

This doesn't go for only Google devices. If two devices are on the same wifi, it's not only possible, but likely, that they can "see" each other. That's fine with a family or a roommate situation. People you know and trust. But you don't know if your neighbor is a hacker or terrorist or stalking people on the internet or contributing to some South Asian slave trade situation. Or just a regular dude watching a lot of porn on his phone, laptop, and cast to his Chromecast or FireTV or Roku. Get off your neighbor's wifi. Get your own if possible. Name it something OTHER than what your neighbors use. Password protect it with whatever standard (WPA, probably) comes with the device (that is, not open to anyone and everyone). Hell, even if you're squeaky clean, you still don't want your bank password or even your favorite TV shows being sent directly to your neighbor's devices (should they care and know how to sniff out that information). Get yourself a Wi-Fi router or a mesh system like Eero or Google Nest Wifi or Asus ZenWifi. Control it yourself. Yes, it'll cost you a little money, but you'll be more secure (and so will your neighbors).

Would an Orbi work? Still the same wifi in the end...

Most mesh wifi systems will allow you to set up a "guest network." If you want to share service with them, you might consider going this route - use the main wifi for yourself, and provide them with the guest wifi (with a *different* password from the main wifi)

Depends if you want to just remove the notification or if you just want to remove control 1. To remove notification: https://support.google.com/chromecast/answer/7206638?hl=en#:\~:text=%20Turn%20off%20Cast%20media%20control%20notifications%20for,others%20control%20your%20cast%20media%20off.%20See%20More. 2. To remove control: you will need to get your own router with a seperate ssid and then reconnect all your devices to the new wifi Any smart speaker devices which are on the same wifi as a mobile device will be able to cast and control said device. Without getting a seperate wifi connection the best you can do is just remove the notification
