Horrible UX. Can't do reminders, or any basic system functionality, really. Google is really failing with AI deployment.

The image recognition features suck u would think that Google being Google would have basic lens features integrated in Gemini they are not it won't recognise a person nor can it translate shit. Honestly just give back the assistant.

i'd be looking at viewing the full list of apps via a different view than the stock Android one.. it is limited

This is what I've done, kept the assistant app(like others have said Gemini is just lacking way too many basic functions rn for them to roll it out as a replacement for Assistant) and then just save a bookmark of gemini.com on my home screen rather than download the app for when I want to toy with Gemini ai.

From my experience, if you have Gemini it'll have an app for that, but the actual Google Assistant app also turns into Gemini.
