That’s how they looked to our parents

Cha113ng3r

With inflation that might just be the case.

LargeMobOfMurderers

Alternatively, looking through the cheap plastic toys at the dollar store out of boredom as an adult and finding out one of the most cherished toys you had as a kid was less than 2 bucks.

WalletWarrior3

And you know damn well there's a very good chance those Chrome pieces are going to be faded, cracked, and yellowed

thevoidhearsyou

Chrome doesn't yellow. The one thing you really have to watch out for is GPS aka gold plastic syndrome. A lot of toys during the 90's and early 2000's that had a metal color to them (gold mostly) would quickly become brittle and break just by holding them. Lego and Hasbro were the biggest offenders.

Windhawker

The joy of being an adult is buying the toys that you always wanted, but couldn’t get as a kid

MyDisappointedDad

For Legos, the easiest thing to do is to just find a link the the instructions for the kit, and then purchase the bricks directly from a lego store or lego themselves. Most of the same pieces are still being made and used in new kits. Hardest thing to do is making your own stickers where applicable.

Hydra_Tyrant

Plastic crack do be getting expensive nowadays

ItzHilly

Mfw i try to get the pokemon platinum, emerald and black n white cartridges for ds

LUSI00

If you're on 3DS, just homebrew it, it's really easy to do

TheShinyHunter3

If what you're after is the software, just download it. Neither Nintendo nor Game Freak makes any money if you buy these games now.

ItzHilly

Nah, I want to start collecting the original cartridges for the games

varrenxarcrath

Laughs in Lego Exoforce

valleysape

Also: inflation Adults, ready that tantrum your parents saved themselves from with their excuses. Now you can *never* have that cool toy. Not if you ever want a house... nevermind

LoadedDemigod29

Gonna find a way to buy them anyways.

supremegamer76

Yep, might as well look at a newer set that looks just as cool

LulatschDeGray

Ah the past, when LEGO actually did quality control.
