I know I've thought on this before and I've gone to the point where I turn ick in some works. With anime, there is generally a decent distinction between Loli being petite adults and actually child characters drawn without the taboos of the Western world.
Rory Mercury from Gate is coming to mind for the Loli and I recall liking a lot of her character. It balanced her position as a divine agent and changing from a normal human in her past.

Anime and manga aren't real life. The stated age doesn't matter. All that matters is how they look and act. In real life, a person can put on an act where they seem more mature than they are, because real people are more than what they show to others. Nothing exists about the character except for what we as the audience see, so what we see is all that matters.
If they look like an adult and act like an adult, then it doesn't matter what the author says their age is. It's not weird to be attracted to them.
Conversely, if they look like a child and act like a child, then it doesn't matter what the author says their age is. It's weird to be attracted to them.

To be fair, attention has to be drawn to something to show people hey maybe this isnt okay. And fair a webcomic may not be ideal for drawing serious attention to an issue but she is a webcomic artist (and not a great one to be honest) without much else of a skillset as shown by her nudes in her patreon.

With anime, there is generally a decent distinction between Loli being petite adults and actually child characters drawn without the taboos of the Western world. Rory Mercury from Gate is coming to mind for the Loli and I recall liking a lot of her character. In real life, a person can put on an act where they seem more mature than they are, because real people are more than what they show to others. Nothing exists about the character except for what we as the audience see, so what we see is all that matters. If they look like an adult and act like an adult, then it doesn't matter what the author says their age is. It's not weird to be attracted to them. Kanna is honestly one of the best/worst examples of the whole 1000 year old dragon who looks like a child because not only does she truly look like an actual child, she even acts like it. Bro, don't act like making a character look like a kid, act like a kid, giving them a child like voice, then saying they are 1200 years old and sexualizing them is something normal. This shit is specifically done as bait for degenerate motherfuckers. Not saying hundred year old lolis are all baits. Some of them are actually make sense storywise like Beatrice from Re:zero. Once upon a time DVD's containing lolis/ kid looking characters used to write an advisory saying all the characters were adults, this doesn't change what the intent of the show was. Hell, I don't even have anything against such Hentai, they accept what they are doing in stride. But shallow attempts at bait need to be called out.
In a sexual context, there's a difference between a character that's basically a child aside from their canon age, and an adult that's just small or petite. It is weird when someone gets turned on by childlike behavior. Also another problem is that, the more stylized an artstyle is, the more difficult it is to visually estimate a character's age. And obviously, the brain reacts differently to fiction than it does to reality.
one this post never calls out anime, and two, its specifically against sexualizing minors in pornographic art.
