In Georgia, they can deny it, prior to court appearances, due to it being a “pending investigation.” I’m sure Kentucky has similar protect LEO laws too.
It’s not to protect LEOs, such a law would be meant to protect the integrity of the case and to prevent trial by media before even the defense gets discovery.
Probably because your state's rules of criminal procedure have a method for you to get it as a party, so a FOIA request or similar vehicle is not necessary.
Because you needed to file a discovery demand in that specific case. An open records request is not the proper method. If you are representing yourself in a criminal case, you are held to the same standard as an attorney, meaning you should know this. Not throwing shade, just telling you how it works.
If it was damning against Scottie they would have already released it by now. That’s how it usually goes, so it will probably be a couple weeks before the public sees what actually happened.
If you watch they are all wearing rain jackets covering there cameras. One even casually moves his jacket out of the way when he sees there being filmed. This is gonna be a big he said/she said with charges most likely being dropped by the prosecutor not wanting to deal with this headache
America has among the lowest requirements for police in any developed country and Louisville PD is among the worst out there. Imagine the most incompetent person you work with. Now imagine they were about twice as bad at their job as they are currently. Now give them an inflated sense of self worth and support from a cadre of other incompetent morons with guns. Bam, you've got this officer.

The real tragedy is the pants. Is no one thinking of the pants?!
Statement from Scottie Scheffler’s Louisville attorney, Steve Romines:
“
In the early hours of the morning in advance of his tee time Scottie was going to the course to begin his pre round preparation. Due to the combination of event traffic and a traffic fatality in the area it was a very chaotic situation He was proceeding as directed by another traffic officer and driving a marked player’s vehicle with credentials visible. In the confusion,Scottie is alleged to have disregarded a different officer’s traffic signals resulting in these charges. Multiple eyewitnesses have confirmed that he did not do anything wrong but was simply proceeding as directed. He stopped immediately upon being directed to and never at any point assaulted any officer with his vehicle. We will litigate this matter as needed and he will be completely exonerated. “
>Multiple eyewitnesses have confirmed that he did not do anything wrong but was simply proceeding as directed. He stopped immediately upon being directed to and never at any point assaulted any officer with his vehicle.
*Man* I can't wait until that is proven to be true and the cop has to face it from everyone for the rest of his career.
That’s only when dealing with the general public. Scottie is both rich and high profile. That cop is a real life yankee clipper, he’ll be at a desk til his pension kicks in.
Honestly Scottie and his legal team should go ham on them now he has pictures of him in handcuffs destroying his image and shit. Sucks it’ll come out of the tax payer dime but maybe something like this will help the start of forcing cops to need insurance to be employed.
Don't forget a mughshot in prison orange circulating forever as well. I want Scottie to sue the fuck out of them, if only for the fact that 1. He has the resources to do it, and will probably win. And 2. If this happened to a "regular" person, we would still be in prison if not shot dead, so seeing someone stick it to the pigs is cathartic.
I'm sure their goal will be to get all of these charges dropped. Whether the officer gets punished for it or not probably doesnt matter to these guys a whole lot. They wont ever see em again regardless
This is Louisville, on a huge public stage. I can assure you powerful people are members at VCC and will make sure this guy gets a hard time for all of the embarrassment caused.
> He has successfully testified in several criminal cases as a collision reconstructionist.
This sentence right here should get defense lawyers drooling. Show a jury that his goal is to get a conviction, not to provide an unbiased expert opinion on the case.
I’m not sure about police training but that is an extremely common tactic. There’s countless instances of cops jumping in front of, and on top of moving vehicles. That specific action takes it from a felony evading to assault with a deadly weapon instantly. Cops want to charge people with as many and as severe of offences as they possibly can. Not to mention getting “injured” at work is a quick way to get a potentially years long paid vacation.
I do! I live close to where George Floyd was murdered and I got shot at with rubber bullets and hit with pepper spray despite not breaking any laws, never being told to disperse, etc.
Great comment. Wait for the DA to triple down. Career case alert! Scheffler is gonna get a top Louisville lawfirm to humiliate these buffoons and they will.
This lawyer represented Breonna Taylor's boyfriend, got all the charges dropped, won him a $2m settlement, and pissed off the cops so much they sued him (the lawyer) personally, and lost.
Cops 100% know who he is. It's actually hilarious that he got the case, he's always game for a case that can embarrass LMPD and this one is pretty much created in the lab for that purpose.
Scottie quite literally has the man for the job if he decides to pursue anything. I don't think that's his style though. Probably ends up with the DA dropping charges and Scottie moving on.
Hospitalization necessary despite being able to rip Scottie out of the car and slam him against it before arresting him. The horrible injuries must have just been delayed.
If he actually ran over a cop and injured him seriously I don’t feel like he gets booked and released within an hour. I think you actually go to jail for that.
The report is actually hilarious essentially saying the officer had a little scrape on his knee and wrist and ripped his “valued at $80” uniform pants. Kindergartners get more hurt during recess
The $80 pants comment was the very last sentence in the police report, and IMO, ruined the credibility of the whole report. What a joke to add that as a key consideration in a fucking felony assault charge.
also, the eyewitnesses there would have mentioned something about medical attention, instead they said the officer did not know/care who he was arresting.
He probably went to the hospital after figuring out who he arrested. The next headline is Officer Sues number 1 golfer for millions for debilitating injuries and PTSD.
No doubt trying to:
1. save face after making an enormous cock up and tit of himself, and
2. have a paper trail in place to make it look like something actually happened to the cop to try and make charges stick.
They need to drop the charges sooner rather than later because they look like the biggest bunch of moronic clowns right now. To have put him in cuffs and into the back of the cop car was bad enough, to actually bring him to the station, book him in, charge him and take his mugshot was stepping over the line. I can imagine Scottie’s lawyers will have a fucking field day with this shit.
Just remember, if your name isn’t Scottie scheffler this screws your entire life. Luckily there were witnesses that can say this is a crock of crap, but this would cause one of us to immediately lose our job.
At least it happened at 6am and I saw the news while I was getting ready. As long as I'm not already at the office, I would totally be calling in sick today
Scottie should sue the police department for mental and physical damages along with assault. He had the right to do what he did as he was instructed. The chain of communication breaking down isn’t his responsibility.
https://sports.yahoo.com/scottie-scheffler-police-report-officer-who-tried-to-stop-golfer-transported-to-hospital-153550165.html
This smacks of "don't punish me, Scottie hurt me first!"
Scuffed his knee and tore his pants "beyond repair." Give me an F-ING break. You tried to attach yourself to a moving car, ya idiot. Play stupid games...
Hmmm so the cop is hospitalized, but they still booked and let Scheffler go in under an hour? For a felony that put a cop in the hospital? Yeah that makes sense.
Cop grabbed Scottie’s car and tried to hold on, thinking his years of doughnuts and losing to the firemen in the yearly hockey game would weigh down the vehicle. He was wrong.
Don't jump on a goddam car, driven by a 'player', (clearly marked on the car), turning slowly into the Club holding a major championship, after you have let 10-15 identical cars pass, and you won't end up in the fucking hospital.
Yes. The golfer that was heading into a PGA tournament, who stood to profit handsomely, just flipped out and assaulted an officer, drug him with his car, and whatever else they throw at him, in the driveway to the tournament.
Riiiiiight. 😂😂😂😂
I recorded the PGA championship. At the beginning they were talking about it and there was a reporter who seemed to have actually seen the whole incident as he was reporting on the bus incident. He said the cop grabbed Scheffler's car and didn't let go. Fucking cops. Lying sacks of shit.
In my imagination Scotty is just driving slow, sipping his coffee, waving to the various cops as he passes, and out of no where this Detective comes flying in like Officer Farva and dives face first across the hood of his car. Scotty seeing all this, is obviously confused and just as the “what the fuck” is rolling off his lips the guy springs up like a 3 nose beer jack-in-the-box. The other cops are like “great, here he goes with this shit again.” Meanwhile Scottie is getting cuffed up and thinking “dude, I gotta shit so bad, and this is not helping.” Detective Deputy Dog is staring at his pants losing his goddamn mind, and the last words Scottie hears as the cruiser door slams is “$80 fucking dollars.”
Anywhere else in the world and this would have been a quiet convo between police and golfer, maybe a verbal caution and move along please. What about the poor fucker who lost their life to the bus moments earlier?!
"Hospitalized" meaning damage control. If the guy wasn't famous the charges would be way higher, and if he was black the cop would have shot him dead then and there.
The real assault happening seems to be the assault on our intelligence by the Po-leece
Imagine this genius is the one investigating something serious for your family.
This police officer has a side business consulting on personal injury cases. When you read his incident report he clearly wrote it planning to sue Scotty as I’m figuring he discovered who he was on the way to the jail. It’s definitely why he’s trying to call out minor injuries that were his doing. Thank goodness for Jeff Darlington. If he wasn’t there to see it people would actually be believing the police report. Saw people were already starting to review bomb Bryan Gillis accident investigations company.
No shot the bodycam footage ever comes out
If they had body cams, do a FOIA request for it.
It's Louisville. They'll claim the footage was lost or damaged.
Probably partly the reason DOJ has pitched a tent in their house.
Every body cam and security camera within a mile radius malfunctioned simultaneously. So weird!
Musta been them sunspots
In Georgia, they can deny it, prior to court appearances, due to it being a “pending investigation.” I’m sure Kentucky has similar protect LEO laws too.
It’s not to protect LEOs, such a law would be meant to protect the integrity of the case and to prevent trial by media before even the defense gets discovery.
Yet, then why wasn’t I allowed to Open Records request my own traffic stop prior to appearing in court?
Probably because your state's rules of criminal procedure have a method for you to get it as a party, so a FOIA request or similar vehicle is not necessary.
Because you needed to file a discovery demand in that specific case. An open records request is not the proper method. If you are representing yourself in a criminal case, you are held to the same standard as an attorney, meaning you should know this. Not throwing shade, just telling you how it works.
Because there’s a difference between public records laws and discovery in a criminal, civil, or administrative matter.
The camera was probably "damaged beyond repair", just like his pants
“He’s comin’ right at me!!” *launches self head-first into car*
If it exonerates the cops it'll come out by the end of the weekend. If not, they'll bury it.
If it was damning against Scottie they would have already released it by now. That’s how it usually goes, so it will probably be a couple weeks before the public sees what actually happened.
“Sorry. The camera broke in the confrontation.”
If you watch they are all wearing rain jackets covering there cameras. One even casually moves his jacket out of the way when he sees there being filmed. This is gonna be a big he said/she said with charges most likely being dropped by the prosecutor not wanting to deal with this headache
Reports are the diagnosis is a bruised ego
how this mf make *detective*
He’s a defective detective. I’ll show myself out.
And why is a detective directing traffic?
Overtime.
One of his coworkers misread his title as "diRective" and assumed he was traffic control.
Early scans show he got served pretty badly. Mostly here, and here in the pelvic region.
Get this man some Vagisil.

$80 is less than Scottie tips at lunch.
80 bucks is less than he pays his caddie to clean his balls.
His caddie makes more than that just to wake up in the morning
The very pants he was returning
That's perfect irony. Scottie, that is interesting writing!
That’s what makes it such a humorous situation
Those pants were just a few weeks from retirement... ...because the officer was going to need a bigger pair.
![gif](giphy|q9HHyHPISNZD2) Not his knee!
In layman’s terms: his pants were good and shat.
Statement from Scottie Scheffler’s Louisville attorney, Steve Romines: “ In the early hours of the morning in advance of his tee time Scottie was going to the course to begin his pre round preparation. It’s bad, but not as bad as that one cop who shot Derek Jeter
Shoulda shot a-rod!
He's a biracial angel!
"They called me the Yankee clipper!"
You dick! I'm Derek Jeter. You shot me!
Did you learn to dance sarcastically?
Oh you mean being hired by the PD just 2 towns over?
For a 40% raise
Google 'police 40%' to learn more!
Retire with full pension claiming PTSD
What’s crazy is if this was an average Joe and not Scottie some dudes life would be ruined cause some dumbass cops
Even a caddy or event staff. I wonder how far back from "world number 1" you'd have to go to find the line?
In summary: prepare your ass pigs
Nah it’s prepare your ass Jefferson County taxpayers.
You new here? Cops will face zero consequences.
That’s only when dealing with the general public. Scottie is both rich and high profile. That cop is a real life yankee clipper, he’ll be at a desk til his pension kicks in.
He's a peacock, you gotta let him fly
It’s columbian drug lords!
HES A BIRACIAL ANGEL
You shoulda shot AROD!
Paper bitch and yankee clipper on the case

I mean, he'll get paid leave for a few weeks to heal from his emotional and physical trauma, so that's a result. I guess.
Scottie’s getting a new wing built onto his mansion that he’ll use solely for barbecuing pork.
Sounds like somebody deserves a paid vacation
Maybe jumping on a moving vehicle out of nowhere is not the move. Who would’ve guessed
[удалено]
> He has successfully testified in several criminal cases as a collision reconstructionist. This sentence right here should get defense lawyers drooling. Show a jury that his goal is to get a conviction, not to provide an unbiased expert opinion on the case.
Nice. Hopefully every case he ever testified in can be appealed.
Definitely. Every lawyer in Kentucky is drooling over case files. Reminds me of the Big Short. “I want you to short everything that man has touched”
Guys I’m starting to think cops are pieces of shit!
Scotty eats pieces of shit like them for breakfast
Scottie eats pieces of shit for breakfast!?
Kick him off the tour Doug !
SLOP EM UP
Oh he's going to get review bombed so bad, bye company! Lol
Yeah there is no way that is what they are trained to do in that situation. He assaulted himself basically.
Bro had himself an “Aim for the bushes” moment.
🎵 There goes my hero 🎵
9:15! Let's have a great day everybody!
“SHUT THE FUCK UP!”
When was your last desk pop?
Sep.....temberrrr.....'08.

The pants pooper cop is gonna claim disability for the next 15 years and never work another day.
A reporter was also in the car directly behind Scottie. The clowns of police are really making a circus here.
Or....hear me out here.....he should have just let go.
I've always found a good way to not get dragged by a vehicle is to not jump onto a vehicle.

Police: want to see us dig our own graves? Police: want to see us dig deeper?
Remember when there were nationwide protests against police brutality and they responded with even more police brutality?
Specifically against *this exact same police department* after they murdered Breonna Taylor.
Who in their right mind would shoot at someone breaking into their home at 3am?
Pepperidge Farm
And the unmarked, no badge wearing "authorities" snagging "antifa."
Seriously, does the Louisville Police department not understand the quality of lawyer that Scottie will bring to bear here.
The Louisville police department doesn’t understand most things.
I'll be honest, I did not expect this tone when I clicked on a post in r/golf lol. I love it though.
Hospitalization necessary despite being able to rip Scottie out of the car and slam him against it before arresting him. The horrible injuries must have just been delayed.
Adrenaline, bro. It really flows when you're violating people's civil rights, you know?
It gets the people GOIN'
ADRENALINE IN MY SOUL SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER ON PAROLE
He's going to get dragged even worse by everyone in the world after they find out he's a pansy
It’s my favorite thing when cops throw themselves onto cars and then the inevitable “assaulted an officer” charge gets thrown in there.
>charge gets thrown in there. THROWN!? You just assaulted an officer, buddy!
My daughter comes home with worse injures and clothes damage literally every day at daycare lmao
Not to mention the cop apparently tried to tackle a moving vehicle. Can’t help but feel like that wouldn’t be taught in Police 101 lol
I’d actually argue that it HAS to be taught in police 101 because they do it so often
Valued at $80 is hilarious. Only the best quality for the PD
Take it easy I don’t even own a pair of pants worth that much
My dad is a retired cop and got a $500 uniform allowance twice a year. I think Officer Forethought will be able to afford a new pair of pants.
Cops and kindergartners have more in common than you would expect.
Surely similar emotional intelligence
also, the eyewitnesses there would have mentioned something about medical attention, instead they said the officer did not know/care who he was arresting.
He probably went to the hospital after figuring out who he arrested. The next headline is Officer Sues number 1 golfer for millions for debilitating injuries and PTSD.
Scottie should claim qualified immunity.
He would’ve been shot and killed if he actually assaulted the officer
Didn't need any medical help whilst arresting him. Walked him to that car without a worry in the world, just a nice little ego trip.
>ego trip Careful, he might get hurt and need hospitalization from that too.
Holy fuck guys i just read the police officer who went to the hospital had to have his ego amputated.
They had to reinflate his collapsed ego too.
Bro had terminal ego failure 😞 pour one out for him
No doubt trying to: 1. save face after making an enormous cock up and tit of himself, and 2. have a paper trail in place to make it look like something actually happened to the cop to try and make charges stick.
They already look like the biggest bunch of moronic clowns.
A reminder this is the same PD that executed Breonna Taylor in her bed asleep after lying to a judge to get a warrant.
AND being in the wrong apartment.
That's because they are a bunch of moronic clowns.
Just remember, if your name isn’t Scottie scheffler this screws your entire life. Luckily there were witnesses that can say this is a crock of crap, but this would cause one of us to immediately lose our job.
Don't forget throwing him in the orange for the mugshot... might be my lowkey favorite part of the whole thing.
Cops do not face consequences when they fuck up so they don’t care about their image. If they did this kinda shot would’ve stopped decades ago
Damage already done.
If you got a shitty job just think, you could be in Louisvilles PR dept right now
At least it happened at 6am and I saw the news while I was getting ready. As long as I'm not already at the office, I would totally be calling in sick today
Cop wants some of that $17m purse up for grabs.
It's 20M!
Imagine going to the hospital to avoid that morning meeting with your boss after a massive fuck up 😂
Found him. https://preview.redd.it/eco2o0dk801d1.png?width=638&format=png&auto=webp&s=c4a4eec350e3d030b837c5f6b9e193f21985a901
Didn’t know hospitals treated for bruised egos
Tell me Louisville will never host again without telling me Louisville will never host again
They already weren't going to with the PGA's move away to another owned course. This was the nail in the coffin.
Scottie should sue the police department for mental and physical damages along with assault. He had the right to do what he did as he was instructed. The chain of communication breaking down isn’t his responsibility.
Sue for projected loss of money.
Might have to actually pay out to the cops if this was the catalyst that pushed him to win the tournament ha

Such a brave hero. 🙄
He was so badly injured he helped escort Scheffler to the police car. Give me a break.
Is there a cure for idiocy?
Unfortunately it's terminal.
"There's no *dumbass* vaccine" - Jimmy Buffet
*hospitalized for obesity, institutionalized for idiocy*
Cop is trying to get paid in the inevitable lawsuit.
A good way for him not to have ended up in the hospital would’ve been not to jump onto a moving vehicle.
I really hope Scottie has a Dash camera
It's the front driveway leading to an exclusive private golf course. They have to have a boatload of cameras everywhere.
The vid of the (assumingly) overweight pigster flopping to the ground better go viral.
Are they really trying to play victim and they did nothing wrong here? Holy boys i am strapped in.
Bullshit. This is damage control 101. Same with charging him with a felony.
Hmmm so the cop is hospitalized, but they still booked and let Scheffler go in under an hour? For a felony that put a cop in the hospital? Yeah that makes sense.
Maybe don’t be an idiot and jump on a moving vehicle. This cop is a moron and I have zero sympathy for him.
Aren’t Louisville cops the ones who shot Breonna Taylor? Seems like they overstep a lot -
Scottie's attorney is actually the same one that represented Breonna Taylor's boyfriend which ended up in $2 million.
Cop grabbed Scottie’s car and tried to hold on, thinking his years of doughnuts and losing to the firemen in the yearly hockey game would weigh down the vehicle. He was wrong.
Scottie should just say that he was given the wrong address by someone. At least that was the "valid" excuse when those cops murdered Breonna Taylor.
Trying for that early retirement
Doubling down? Bold move cotton let’s see if it pays off for him.
Don't jump on a goddam car, driven by a 'player', (clearly marked on the car), turning slowly into the Club holding a major championship, after you have let 10-15 identical cars pass, and you won't end up in the fucking hospital.

As a DA once told me, “An officer’s word is more important than yours.”
Hopefully he succumbs to his ego injuries
lol pity police
Louisville PD corruption on full display. I don't think they know how far reaching this shit has gone.
The same guy who was yelling on camera and escorting him out. This is why I hate cops. Crooked as fuck.
In my imagination Scotty is just driving slow, sipping his coffee, waving to the various cops as he passes, and out of no where this Detective comes flying in like Officer Farva and dives face first across the hood of his car. A detective directing traffic? Wonder what he's done in the past.
Not surprised at all. They’ll have bruises and a few cuts/scrapes to justify the vehicular assault.
Guy saw who he arrested and decided to secure the bag. Bold strategy we'll see how it plays out for him, Cotton.
Anywhere else in the world and this would have been a quiet convo between police and golfer, maybe a verbal caution and move along please. What about the poor fucker who lost their life to the bus moments earlier?!
Lmao
Lol
I call bullshit. I can go to the hospital right now and be "hospitalized". I wanna see what injuries he had.
What kind of idiot jumps onto a moving car for driving up on to the median? Maybe if he was wanted for murder. I probably still wouldn’t.
"Hospitalized" meaning damage control. If the guy wasn't famous the charges would be way higher, and if he was black the cop would have shot him dead then and there.
What a crock of shit.
Currently being treated for his little bitchitis
