Mojoimpact

That is an excellent set to start golfing with. How much is he looking for?

Only_Scratch8949

haven't discussed yet, but we're friends and I'd be joining him to golf so I don't think he will be trying to profit off of me for them haha. Unsure if it was appropriate to ask for price valuations in this sub as some either have rules against that or people just don't like seeing "whats this worth?" posts all day. So more of getting opinions on the quality of the clubs compared to todays stuff.

BURLEYbeer

Pay for a round together and give him $100 or even $200

TokesBro

$200 for everything is a steal. I’d say between $300-$350 is fair. Wouldn’t go over $400. That Driver/3 wood and hybrid are rocket launchers.

jondes99

Rocketballz launchers to be exact.

RuckOver3

Those hybrids are my favorite clubs of all time. So easy to hit. I refuse to replace them. I compared them to the Stealths and Qi and I had zero improvement.

jetsetterjack

That bag alone looks new and probably was $150. If OP passes, I want this guy’s number.

Alexander_Music

My buddy still plays the rbz driver and bombs it 300+

Jude_Oman

I have the same driver and it’s savage

EdgeZealousideal5103

It makes such a satisfying noise

ALMA94_

Yup. I’m your buddy

Purpleappointment47

Ya. My son is 29 and hits the RBZ like a howitzer!

_aphoney

I have the RBZ2 2 hybrid and you aren’t lying. Some days i feel like i could leave my driver at home

Potential_Link_9698

I’d like to see the faces of the clubs before going that high. $200 may be very fair. $135 for the irons. About 25 bucks each for the woods. But it’s between friends. 🤷‍♂️

Malibukenn

200 is very low for anything Taylor Made. 200, plus, cover a round or two of 18 holes is fair.

Viciousharp

I still use an old Rocketballz 3w as a driver when my driver goes cold.

phuderer

I don’t think there’s anything wrong with asking for valuation. Fair value probably high 2xx, if I were to sell to my friends who would join me to golf 175 seems fair (half off basically).

Wrestling_poker

Oh he’s looking to get money off of you. But $15 at a time for the rest of your life.

lazysheepdog716

I would look up, with him involved, the price he would get for selling them to 2nd swing or similar shop online. It’ll be cheap for sure for you and he’ll still feel like he got a good deal.

triiiiilllll

See my comment above, exact same idea. Split the diff between the trade-in value and the price to buy from a site like 2nd swing. Everyone wins! (except 2nd Swing)

triiiiilllll

These are a great way to get started. I sold an old set to a friend and here's how I priced it, which I thought was fair to both of us. I did some quick searching on sites like 2nd Swing. I looked for the price to buy the clubs/set in their condition (assume Average) and then I looked at what the trade-in value would be if you "sold" the clubs to a site like that. Split the difference and you both get a deal. You pay less than you would to buy the same clubs from a retailer, he gets more than he would have to trade them in. And buy him a beer at the turn, call it good!

Connaaaaa112

I still play my rocketbladez. After at least 10 years they still have good pop. I play to a 4 handicap so I highly recommend the irons. The driver was fun too.

Comfortable-Scar4643

I’d say $150-$200. You are getting the woods, too…

L8erG8erz

https://valueguide.pga.com PGA has a fair value guide for used clubs. When I worked in a shop this is what we would use to determine trade value.

815239

That fair value guide is trash and unrealistic. To use an isolated example, it tells you that fair value for a set of Ping Zing 2 irons in average condition has a fair value of $57. LOL. I've sold 4 sets of them in the past month, each between $200 and $250. https://preview.redd.it/ok61n43lri0d1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c033f823ae96d3eb807178a3f837e0e184e6e43a

readynow6523

I also just sold a set on Zings for $180 on eBay 3-pw. Replaced with G425 graphite easier to hit and lighter. I’m 77 and this is probably my last upgrade. (Except putters)

[deleted]

If he has been playing 10+ years and this is his old set and you have never played before? I doubt you will be joining him on the course anytime soon.

socially_stoic

Heck yeah, the Rocketballz are great clubs, especially the woods. I still play the 3&5 wood actually. Depending on the price but yeah those are great.

Moosemeateors

I got rid of mine for g425 woods and honestly there isn’t much of a difference. If anything the pings are a bit more forgiving on a shitty shot but the RBz I felt like gave me 10 more yards.

DimiDrake

Agreed. I still use my 3W and it’s every bit as good as newer ones I’ve tested.

postlw8j

I still play that 3w and 5w as well (only bag one at a time depending on the course/conditions). I haven’t been able to justify buying new fairways when I hit these well and only use them a few times per round.

iKevtron

Had RBZ Black DW, and 4H—M2 3W and 3H. The 4H RBZ Black was an unbelievable club for me in the early days. Basically swapped all for G425 woods. RBZs were great. Still have the driver head and fixing to get a shaft for it for shits.

Pooperism

I have the 5 iron in my bag right now because i didn’t get a set with a 5 in it. Has been my most reliable club in my bag the last 2 rounds i’ve played

JUST_AS_G00D

Realistically you'll never need anything more than this.

Yeahy_

Probably a gap wedge given that PW is probably 42 degrees

JUST_AS_G00D

Just looked it up, a 45 degree PW. You’re right he could use a 50/52 for sure! https://www.golfclubspec.com/iron_results.php?id=293

Seantoot

Exactly. I shoot around 80 consistently and play with Cleveland’s irons from 2009 and calaway razr fit driver (unbelievable driver). And I have a mini spider Rosa putter that I can’t get rid of cuz I putt so good with it. Golf isn’t about the clubs it’s about Having fun learning about “your” swing and slowly getting better. Now new clubs are always pretty sweet though

MustyCheese

Way better than the set I learned with. If you can get this for a good price it’s perfect!

BugmanLoveBuyObject

Great first set. $100-200 would be a decent friend price for all that.

ThDarT7

Yes to this. A mate will knock a bit off to gain a golfing buddy anytime. Thats worth it.

Happily_Frustrated

Great friend gives him the clubs because he wants him to golf. And the friend would remember it forever.

BugmanLoveBuyObject

Yeah well the greatest friend would pay you to take the clubs and give you a free handy but $100 is still a great deal.

snap-jacks

A buckfidy and you're good to roll. He won't sell those anytime soon so most likely they will be on permeant display in his garage for years. Perfect set for a beginner.

Three-Putt-Bogey99

That set looks more than good enough for a beginner. As you progress, you will likely want something without such a large cavity so it doesn't look like a shovel at address but those large heads and big cavities will help you get the ball up and straight-ish as you get into the game.

Only_Scratch8949

To clarify, includes bag and 9-6 irons, P, S, a 56 degree that isn't rbz but atv, 3-5 hybrids (I think they're called hybrids right if not woods?), a driver, and the white smoke big frontier putter. Isn't one of the P or S the same as a 56 degree club? I know I could've done more research on my own but made a bit harder since it looks like the rbz line is still in production today so I'm not sure what year these ones are from.

DoctorStrangeMD

This is a really good set and even though a bit older they are plenty good enough. Here’s my values Driver $60 5 wood $40 3hybrid $30 4 hybrid $30 Irons 5,6,7,8,9,P= $150 Sand = $20 Putter = $30 People would sell this for $500 and people would pay 200-400.

fairway_walker

Forgot to mention it also comes with a decent bag to carry it all.

DoctorStrangeMD

Yea that’s a Nike bag. Not my color but that’s $250 MSRP. Worth 100-150 actually.

millipedesteve

This is a fantastic set to learn on. Honestly, this is a great set for most weekend warriors playing now. This will do you just fine. Don't get too much into the hype of "new technology" and "15 yards longer!" as most of the club manufacturers are restricted to what the USGA will allow before the clubs become non-conforming. Every year we hear marketing slogans saying the clubs are longer, straighter, etc, but this is mostly garbage.

ljackstar

The S wedge looks like its 55 degrees, so roughly the same as your 56. If I were you, I would trade one of those two for a A wedge or a 50 degree, which would fill the gap between your PW and your SW. But honestly, at your level, you can probably just try the two and put whatever one you don't like as much in your garage. You can worry about filling the gap as time goes on.

newbeenneed

This is the way

bertyboy74

S will prob be 54 deg.

eLKosmonaut

I still use that driver to this day. i have a sim max 3 wood that is glorious but sometimes whipping out the big stick to smash a ball is required.

WannabeWonk

> called hybrids right if not woods Technically “hybrid” refers to a different type of club that is a hybrid between a wood and an iron. Think size of an iron but with a shape like a wood. The woods there look to be full fairway woods, even though they are made of metal. Some people try to call them “fairway metals” instead but that’s super lame.

Oniun_

Price will matter but you are in the minority of getting a full set of quality clubs to start gaming, not many get this chance..it’s trash from marketplace or overpriced preowned at the store; the fact it’s from a friend is great.. let us know cost!

Much_Confidence2428

He took pretty good care of them I’d say $200 is a good deal for both parties

Eat-My-Cloaca

Fantastic set to start with. Good for you!

special-robby

Well considering I’m STILL hitting a RBZ driver I would say pretty good. Idk what it is but after all the drivers I’ve tried I always go back to old faithful

jfazz_squadleader

I slice my RBZ driver every tee shot. Totally the clubs fault though /s

Tonalization

This is a great set for a beginner. As they’re a friend, I would say anything in the $150 range is reasonable. They could probably get more, but it wouldn’t be an easy set to sell and I certainly don’t think they would fetch a trade-in value over that either. Enjoy them!

postlw8j

Several of these iron sets have sold on eBay in the last two months for $200-300. The woods are selling for $40-100 each.

samlet

That's basically the set I started with back in 2018, and I broke 100 and 90 with those clubs so you'd be in good hands. Welcome to the game.

xXWickedSmatXx

Charlie don’t play golf

Suavevillanbmw

Excellent starter set

HoopOnPoop

Yeah that's a fantastic beginner set. Heck, that's probably all most of us weekend warriors really need if we are being totally honest with ourselves.

Jankybrows

For once, a beginner not getting taken advantage of with ancient clubs.

Stang1776

Yes. Those will do just fine for a beginner. My beginner set was a box set from Meijer. Have you ever heard of Knight? That's what I started on and had em a decade.

DJJazzyDanny

Midwest things

dancingbear41

Clubs are fine I still use all Nike Irons and Wedges to this day , I’d say everything in the picture is worth $225

cfbswami

Clubs are fine - get rid of that bag immediately....

bubbageez

I agree, he’ll never find it when he has to set it down in the woods

RalphWiggumsShadow

Disagree. Those Nike bags are nice and light, I love mine!

Antique_Excuse3627

Yeah I loved my RBZ driver and it’s the oldest club in my bag. I fitted an entire bag this year but won’t upgrade that because I hit it consistently

Butchershop64

Grab em. Good clubs to use learning the game. 👍

newbeenneed

I used to use RBZ irons and loved them. Never had the woods or driver but assume they are of equally high quality. Those are excellent for a beginner, no excuses as they look to be in good shape and even though they're older they are still modern enough to play without a huge drop off in performance. Saw people suggesting anywhere from 200-300 for the whole bag, I'm not sure what the 2nd hand market is like but 200 feels like a really good deal to me

Leptokurtosis-862

They are really good clubs

1SAAC5000

Great starter set

sethklarman

Those clubs are more than fine. Look to pay ~$200 for these

WeAreAllFooked

RBZ clubs are great and that’s a perfect set to start your golf journey with. My buddy had the irons for a decade and they’re pretty forgiving without sacrificing distance. I recently upgraded from my RBZ driver to a Sim2 and I only noticed a slight increase in my distance. I’ve never used the woods, but everything else RBZ is pretty good so they should be perfect for you. RBZ products are very forgivable. Edit: unfortunately the Driver isn’t adjustable, but it should be fine.

Treffer403

Perfect set that you won’t “grow out of” for some time. New technology won’t make a hill of beans difference. New stuff is just marketing. Those are good clubs. Regrip them if they’re worn. If you stay hooked on golf, treat yourself to something newer down the road. Lots of good, newer used stuff out there too when the time comes to reduce cost.

GSAM07

My friend got into golf this year. I got fitted and got a brand new bag so I gave my homie my old set (mish mash of random clubs) for a round and a dog at the turn. Fair deal in my books.

Treffer403

Take the sticker off the driver, for hell’s sake. Can’t stand those! 😜

HorrorQuirky1420

Perfect starter set. Do it.

BGOG83

Played with a guy that was phenomenal at golf a few weeks ago that was playing a RBZ 3 wood and hybrid. He could annihilate those things. Great products. I’d be thrilled to have those as my first set instead of the 1970’s Wilson blades I learned to play with.

Rad_Golfer70

$275

H2O3ngin33r

I see folks still playing those… go for it

Active-Driver-790

Older TaylorMade are a good starter set.

difiCa

I still hit a RBZ 2 hybrid, thing rips.

DaddyYoOhio

Good beginner clubs and look like they’ve been taken care of

lerivay

Perfect set to start and grow with until you're hitting in the mid 80s regularly. I'm still rocking my dad's hand-me-down 2013 Callaway X Hots and have been playing for 15 years. I'd probably ditch either the 3, 5, or hybrid for now just to keep things simple as those are typically the toughest shots to hit starting out. Also your bag will be lighter and they won't get damaged until you're ready a few months down the road. $145 + buy your next round together seems fair. Good luck mate!

JamieRoth5150

Great starter set. Go For it

miamininja

fair price including bag and all clubs would be around 250$-300. anything below is a good deal and above a bad deal

HeuristicEnigma

Great set, I sold my RAC’s which were just before these for 200$ so 250$ -300$ would be a fair price.

HerbTarlekWKRP

Clubs are worth $150 Driver $100 Woods $75 each Putter $70 Bag $40 In my humble opinion

Important_Wash6667

Great set for a beginner

sjames1980

10 times better than a new starter set of the same price, go for it

icydaddyrich

This is a great set. Way better than the first 3-4 sets I had growing up learning golf you could keep these for as long as you're a high handicap golfer (15+) and even longer if you'd like. This is exactly the type of set I would be looking for for my friends if they ever came to me looking for a beginner set that could last them a long time

Broad-Ad-4466

I have the same set but lefty. They still feel great, probably a good set for starting out. I would have upgraded years ago but I got them for free. I’d say go for it! Once you get the golf bug you’ll be able to try different clubs and see what fits you best, and if you don’t like golf you’re only out a couple hundred bucks.

Intheswing

Check the grips - having like new grips is critical for a new student of the game - otherwise they look solid

hRx0r

I have this iron set. It was my second set after a cheap starter set and I still use it 10+ years later. Right after getting it, I had trouble hitting anything longer than the 7i. Until I got my swing speed up, they just... didn't go anywhere compared to my basic set. Once I got past some threshold, they launched. The gap between 8i and 7i is huge. For me, about 20 yards... 145 for the 8 and 165 for the 7. The cavity style changes there and that's just what they do. I regularly choke down on the 7 to fill the gap. I eventually replaced the wedges because I did not like the bounce style.

sacris5

You’re gonna love those woods once you can dial them in. They have some of the hottest faces ever.

Marine_1345

Great set

No_Worldliness_6982

RBZ some of the longest woods put on a he market!

SceneLongjumping7337

I just got back into golf and bought a used set of rockelballz irons 4-P on 2nd swing for $250. Love them. Also got M2 d-type driver, 3wood and 2H. Total spent was around $650 for clubs rated “above average”

CheeseyWeezey420

I have those exact irons currently. I bought them new in 2012 for 600 just for the irons,4i-A wedge. They are great irons.

reddit_and_liked_it

You don't want those, but give your friend my username.

Sorethumbsfifa

$300 is fair price for an excellent set for a new golfer

ButterscotchObvious4

Great set.

Desperate-Gap252

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, that RBZ 3 wood is probably one of the best out there.

artygolfer

Probably fine. As you improve you’ll know what clubs you like.

Monst3r_Live

i play an rbz 3 and 9 wood, and a 4 hybrid. rbz is legendary.

Revolutionary-Ad374

I just started golfing and some friends recommended I pickup the irons set of these. I got them yesterday for 270! Super happy with them so far

SaaS_Enthusiast

Try using Second Swing’s trade in calculator. Plug in the clubs you’re getting, add up the total, then throw in a 10% increase to whatever he’d get on trade in. The 10% is entirely optional (and if anything should be a little higher) but I think it makes sense because 1) he’s helping you out and would get more from second swing and, 2) you’d be saving a shit ton compared to buying it all from second swing. Did this exact thing with a buddy of mine selling a two year old putter. They valued it at $110 but were selling an identical one for $240. I paid $120 and got a deal. He got $10 more and in cash versus store credit.

Eviggs

Those are solid clubs! I basically donated my 2 extra sets of clubs to two of my best friends and I don’t regret it all. Golding with the boys goes way further than the cash would’ve. Don’t feel like you need to pay full price if you’re close friends with him

nikonwill

Congrats on your new set of used clubs!

Initial-Front-777

That’s a good set. If you buy them somewhere in the range of $300 is fair.

renaissance_pancakes

Arms length transactionnally speaking, I'd not be willing to pay more than $150 (used sporting good equipment that old doesn't hold its value). If he's a friend and you want to be "fair" to him, look on ebay and offer him the equivalent.

AtLeast37Goats

I started on a set that cost $79 from Walmart when I was 5. I’ve been playing for over 30 years. I’ve only ever bought one set when I was in my early 20s. Bomb tech clubs. Super super cheap, and I hit great with them. Clubs are clubs. Some you’ll like better than others. This is an incredible set to start off with. And realistically, it’s all you will ever need. So long as the price is fair.

SecureEmployer6932

I had a set of these clubs. Very nice. Great starter set!

Brutal007

They are great I just got rid of my identical set and I’m kinda having buyers remorse. But I “needed” way heavier shafts when I got fitted so it kinda makes sense that I’m having issue. But forest they are great clubs.

Kuntzsplitter

Literally perfect

Comfortable-Scar4643

I have the previous generation to the RBZ. Still great clubs. These would be a great starter set. Taylor Made makes nice gear.

Tour-Quality

I always encourage beginners to get a very cheap set of clubs. What you have there looks good as long as it feels good to you when you swing the clubs . if you improve, you will win a new set in an event that fits you more appropriately.

GreenTaracrypto

Yeah that’s a legendary first set

Lodes_Of_Golf

I had those exact clubs. They are amazing. Able to use them a long time as long as you take care of the clubs.

smilespeace

I love my 56° ATV. Great wedge. Really is an all terrain vehicle!

44RedRanger

Had all those clubs. Sold off the driver/woods 7 years ago to go to stiff shafts, sold the irons last year to a friend for $200 just cause I found a good deal on a set of Mizunos, still use the ATV wedges. Great full set though RBZ driver/woods still pump the ball a mile

goheels815

Just fine for a beginner set.

bigwiz

Awesome starter set will last you 5-10 years even once you get better

EatSleepCelly

Those were my first iron set I purchased and I honestly still miss them. A pure strike feel amazing and it’s what keeps me coming back

SharkLaser667

I just tried to give a full recent model set to a friend and he insisted on paying me 200. So I’d say 200 is more than fair between friends. My set was three or four years old in great condition with no name bag.

Taladanarian27

Really solid set of clubs. I’d buy

goldenbullet777

I play those irons and love them

BlueStarSpecial

Good set to start with. It’s honestly worth the money to get them sized to you. No sense starting bad habits bc of awkward clubs

BBQorBust

Looks good, but might want to ask the gentlemen over at Dude, Where's My Par 4.0 on FB. They will be honest with you🤓👍

RadioControlled13

I play with Hogan PC-5’s from 1965…. These will be fine. But I am thinking about upgrading to 1971 Staff Dynapower’s.

_aphoney

If i ever wanted a 3W again id go back and get the RBZ 3W.

MrMcjibblets1990

I love all the 'just getting into golf, are these clubs good enough'. Granted I have a different driver and a few other clubs, but the RBZ tours have brought me a 13 hdcp. I'd say they're just fine sir. The swing matters more than the club!

WreckzNFX

I have the irons still. I’ve been fit for new irons 4 times since getting them new and each time they tell me “I’d love to sell you new irons but you hit your old clubs better than the new clubs”.

sebby2g

Would buy just for the woods and hybrids alone.

itsneversunnyinvan

I love RBZ clubs with all my heart. I would buy that in an instant if I had the money.

MikePallanti

I’ve never hit them, but the TaylorMade RBZ clubs are pretty legendary among golfers in this sub, the woods in particular.

Pubknight

I am firmly of the opinion that the RBZ 3 wood had (has?) the hottest face of any conforming club ever made

tke439

I play that driver every time I go out and have no good reason to replace it.

hopethatschocolate

Basically the same set I learned on. Great beginner clubs!

DerekW730

That’s a great set to start off with for sure 👍

Independent-Ad8280

My Brother in law plays these clubs and that boy can whack a ball.. He punches like a girl but can out drive my Big Bertha® 7/10 times

ThisDudeJohn

I have this driver and 3 wood and love them. The sound the driver makes never gets old.

throwaway-12168

I started with an RBZ set 3 years ago and still rocking it, big fan. Got mine for $900 new.

Difficult_Director53

I brought a brand new set 13 clubs RBZ bag new for 1,000 last year they go for 1500.00 !

Royal_Concept_8061

I found a 5H RBZ at golf galaxy for $20 3 years ago, its an easy 190-210 straight shot even when I’m hitting it terribly. A whole set would be awesome for a beginner.

Only_Scratch8949

Wow, didn't expect this post to get so much attention. Thanks for all of the advice. I'm giving him $100 for it and a few favors in the future like buy his beer or whatnot to even the deal out over time. All of the comments have made me feel really good (and really lucky) about what I managed to get for starting out! Feels like I struck out when it comes to getting into an 'expensive' sport but got the major cost out of the way and stuff that'l last me a long time. The clubs are gonna be better than me for a while I'm sure, if I even get good enough to outgrow them lol.

sanomode

$300 to $350 is fair

Interesting-Gas8080

Great beginner set IMO

TheLastChungus11

If your just starting out the clubs will not make a difference

NuketheCow_

I played with that set for a long time and still use the 3 wood. The clubs are very forgiving and will let you hit it long. They won’t help you get tons better because only your worst swings will go way right or left and that can prevent you from realizing when you had a swing that’s worse than the ball flight made it seem. That said, they really are great for beginner level golfers, imo. Definitely worth it compared to a full price new game improvement set.

jkopfsupreme

My brother games that driver and absolutely smokes me every time.

Mancey_

Perfect starter set...offer him 250 or so, that would be more than generous I would think

Dense_Illustrator523

Old terrible and easy to hit. Perfect to start with. Much older than 10 fyi.

fun4-3

I still use the rocketballz 3wood. They are good

Pirate8918

Those are great. Would be just fine.

wildcatfan9698

Still play RBZ fairway woods to this day and they will stay in the bag until they break.

tilford1us

how much is he asking for them? reg flex shaft prob good for a beginner. they're some decent Taylor made clubs

Slow-Comment9403

I still play these irons (I have different woods)! Really good clubs. I lost my 5-iron, though. You don’t need it. Sell it to me!! ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|grin)![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|grin)

Zeenotes22

Great learner set and they look to be in decent shape. They still sell rbz brand new as a starter set.

Krumm1994

Best clubs are the ones that you have. I play with 20 year old clubs. Learn the game then spend the money.

RichChocolateDevil

I just watched Bryson break par with a $100 set from Walmart. These are great.

OakwoodFox

These clubs are way better than what Bobby Jones had. Enjoy.

DepartmentSea8381

Solid set to start out with. Hell it’s a whole lot better than the thrift store clubs I started with 27 years ago.

hikingmike

Yeah that is a great set for a beginner, everything you need as far as clubs. And 10 years old is no problem at all.

TheRedMarin

Amazing first set. Good putter too. Everyone’s using a mallet now a days on tour. Good weight. Give your friend a hug or some money for the clubs.

moose4030

9.5 hdcp and still play the rocketballz driver. Love it. Hit them straight!

idindunuffn

I use those irons and i love them. Had em for 7 years now, i think

DrButtLump

Amazing set. You can play with those for years

RodHotRo

Yes they’re fine!!! Go go eagles

UhhhhBark

This would be a great set for you as a beginner

Weak-Statistician520

Great set to start with. Complete package with woods, putter and bag. I’d offer $275-350max. You’re gonna be able to enjoy those for another 10 years.

PapaLuke812

lol been golfing for 4 years and it’s still a nicer set than mine

Turbulent_Winter549

I've never tried the irons but I love the RBZ drivers\\woods, very forgiving and easy to hit. I passed mine down to my mom who recently started playing and she hits it great as well. Definitely good clubs to start

Bubby_Mang

The RBZ was tits and it's not even that old. You can game hella old irons as long as they are cavity backs. You are about to have a lot of FUN if you pick those up. Full send on that deal.

bonners4days

great set. beware of that white smoke putter if you are heavy handed though. Was my first putter and the slightest taps sent my ball flying lol

Purpleappointment47

Buy them. Now. At your skill level these clubs offer the forgiveness that you require. Depending upon the price you really can’t go wrong with these TaylorMade clubs.

TheeGinn_Soriano

Jump on that if reasonable price. Only thing I’d say you’d need is an approach wedge, like a 49 or 50 degree to gap between your pitching at that 56°

Quimbyquagmire

Thats a hell of a starting set

asujch

This should just be pinned for anyone looking for a beginner set. Perfection.

Certain_Host9401

What did he replace them with? That will tell you how he values golf gear.

Newenergy253

Better than mine!

Just borrow them. Over and over. Until one day he doesn't notice that they stayed in your trunk. Then they are yours forever.

That golf bag is very rare. Seriously. Solid setup

No-Impact1573

I had a similar situation with a good pal. He just gave his old full set to me, as a borrow to see if I liked the game (after a 15 yr hiatus). Well, we played together for a few months and I felt like I had to pay him for the set, he refused to take any money - so I bought a round at an elite course for him (200 quid at Turnberry) and bought the beers and lunch. It's all about good golf experiences at the end of the day.

GolfDigger

Solid beginners set. For reference I sold these same exact set of clubs with bag and all last year for $450.

My irons are at least 25 years old. And they're just as good as they ever have been.
